Story
Meet Fae, a beautiful 4-year-old German Shepherd mix (with a little mystery mixed in too!) who weighs about 65 pounds. Before coming to HCAS, Fae hadn’t experienced much one-on-one attention—but she’s making up for lost time in the sweetest way. With every pet and gentle scratch from our volunteers and staff, she’s discovered just how wonderful love and affection can be. Fae has blossomed into a total sweetheart who adores attention and is eager to please. She’s learning to walk on our trail and proudly struts along, just like the other shelter “yahoos” who can’t wait for their turn out!Who’s going to be the lucky one to give this affectionate girl the home she’s been waiting for? Stop by and meet Fae—you might just fall in love.

Story
June has been a well-loved part of our family for a long time. She is 5 years old and is a fun-loving dog who loves people! She has a lot of energy and loves to be outside. She’s a great dog to take on the kayak in the river, on an hike, or just to hang with you at a brewery. Ideally, she would find another family who loves to be outside and has a big yard. She listens well and won’t run away while off leash. She loves to play with other dogs, but we ran into problems with her and our other female dog. She has no issues with our male dog and she has never had problems with other female dogs she has played with. In fact, my parents have a small female dog and they are best friends who like to play together nonstop! June is protective over us and the house, so that is a plus too! June is crate trained and has no issues being in it. She is a really sweet dog who is happy to curl up next to you on the couch. Please feel free to reach out! 828-467-3325

Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! This pet is NOT available through Mountain Pet Rescue.  Please do NOT contact MPR for information about the pet or apply to adopt this pet on the MPR website.  Contactrkunze38@gmail.com or 732-614-2692 for more information or to adopt the pet.Stella is a wonderful 4-year-old German Shepherd/Husky mix with a calm, gentle soul. She is spayed, completely healthy, and fully up to date on all vaccinations. Full veterinary records will be provided. She has basic obedience training, is fully crate-trained, and is reliably house-trained. Stella's overall demeanor is very calm and submissive, and she settles nicely in the home. She enjoys spending time with her people and loves getting outside especially for hikes and outdoor adventures.Due to a recent incident of aggression toward another dog in my family's household, Stella needs to be rehomed as the only dog. For this reason, she would do best in a home where she can be the sole pet and receive focused attention. An ideal home for Stella would be a loving family with a fenced backyard where she can run, play and explore. She thrives with space and would be a great companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle but also appreciates a calm, well-mannered dog at home. Please contact me today via email rkunze38@gmail.com or phone 732-614-2692 to learn more about or meet sweet Stella. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. January 19, 2026, 1:45 am

Story
Crush 😍 Crush is seriously just a goofy, silly, happy to exsist boy who just wants to play with all his other dogs friends. Crush was born into our rescue on Feb 7th, 2024 ,his Mom is Love(also still available for adoption) Crush is now 1 year old and very soon will celebrate not only his first birthday ,but one year of living his whole life In a rescue. Crush had 8 brothers and sisters and everyone of them found homes months back, but for some reason Crush just hasn't had the luck his siblings did and it really hurts my heart for him. Crush is a big baby and is pretty uncertain about anything new at first. He really needs some confidence building and will do best in a home with another dog friendly dog to help him out. Crush adoption fee is waived to a perfect home , he has been here too long. We would really love to find him a home before his 1 year birthday, so he can celebrate with his forever family and not here ❤️. Someone PLEASE Come meet this boy and give him a chance. He's around 40lbs and grown . He is neutered, microchipped, utd on vaccines. He is being fostered in Cosby Tennessee. Someone please give Crush a chance 😫

Story
** Brutus ** Share to help us find Brutus a perfect home Edwina Tennessee 📌 Brutus is a 2 year old, beautiful dog who has been in the rescue over a year and a half. He's not a very large guy, he's maybe knee high and a medium sized mix breed of who knows what but he's 100% handsome. He's smart and silly when he's in his home. He was reserved and nervous meeting me and being at a new place, but we took it slow and I got some small licks and a few tail wags. I'm sure If I met him at his place vs coming to my unfamiliar place,he would've been less nervous. I wouldn't suggest a home with young children due to this shy guy behavior. He's going to need a bit more confidence building but with some more one on one and training I'm sure his forever family can help mold him into a perfect little guy. Brutus is being fostered in edwina TN, he is neutered, microchipped, utd on vaccines and deworming. His adoption fee is waived to a perfect home Brutus seems to do fine with other dogs his size, he has never been around a kitty before
