Story
This is a courtesy post. Please do not contact Heart of the Foothills for information. Contact information is provided below.Macy is a 7-year-old spayed female German Shepherd with papers. She is great with all people and kids (loved the FedEx man!) She loves to be around people. Macy is good with other dogs unless they seem aggressive toward her family or to her dog friends. She is protective of other dogs in her house. She chases cats, however, so a home without cats is preferable! She walks well on a leash.Macy is scared of storms and needs someone who is home more than her owners are able to. She needs someone to spend more time with her.If you are interested in Macy, please email brookemccraw80@gmail.com

Story
Gorgeous & sweet Shepherd seeking Shepherd savvy home! Tally is a 2 year old Shepherd mix. She is a sensitive, affectionate, velcro pup who adores her people. While she likes pets and attention, in the home she doesn't need to be under your feet constantly. She's content just laying under your feet or beside you. She loves sniffing around and doing "find-it" games. She is incredibly intelligent as Shepherds are and catches on to training quickly, especially when given proper direction and structure. She gets along with all animals and is cat curious but gentle. She’s potty trained, not food aggressive at all, takes treats gently and walks well on a leash. She is crate and house trained. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Why we are seeking a Shepherd or at least dog savvy home: Tally is a sensitive girl and does have fear based reactivity when meeting new people. She gets confidence from her handler - if her handler is nervous, she will be nervous and more reactive. The upside of this is she corrects incredibly well, is better greeting when leashed, and even better...her reactivity is slim to none if she meets someone new with a non-reactive leader dog to give her confidence. However, the reactivity is still something that needs to be known and managed when Tally is in a situation where she needs to interact with a new person (ex: when people visit the home). She has attended a few public adoption events at local breweries where we let her quietly decompress under the table and come out to interact with people and other dogs once she's comfortable, all while advocating for her space and not letting strangers approach her with an outstretched hand and she has done perfectly in these scenarios! We are happy to provide her adopters with training support to continue to set Tally up for success post adoption. *******************************Tally is currently in a foster home, but we are happy to arrange a meet & greet with approved adopters. To get started, please submit an adoption application at https://bit.ly/HOTNADOPTUSA Adoption process:Potential adopters complete our online application. From there, we contact them to continue the screening process including checking references, vet checks, and a personal phone interview. Upon completion, potential adopters are pre-approved. From there, potential adopters are put in touch with the foster parent(s) of the dog they are interested in adopting. If a specific dog is not in mind, admins will make suggestions based on who we feel will be good candidates for their home. We take the foster's opinions into high consideration when determining ideal fit for an adoption. Once the dog is determined to be a good fit for the adoptive home, the adopter is given advisement on decompression, training, safety gear, and future preventative vetting. The adoption contract is signed and adoption fee paid to finalize the adoption. ##2122343##

Story
Meet Dalia! Dalia is a German Shepherd and Treeing Walker Coonhound mix and is about 9 months old. She was found with her 5 other siblings, 3 of which have already been adopted. Dalia has the endearing qualities of a hound and is highly trainable like a GSD. She is sensitive and loves to play, and just wants to make you happy. She loves affection and will shower you with kisses. Her favorite toys are jumbler balls. Dalia does well with other dogs. She is fast learning to walk on a leash but can pull when she is excited. She is smart and is a quick learner especially when treats are involved. Dalia is 50 lbs, spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccines. Ready to make Dalia a part of your family?
