Story
Active Axel is a handsome golden male German Shepherd/ Great Pyrenees mix who was born on February 11th, 2023 and is still a puppy in every way. He is one of six siblings that survived from a litter of 12. Our guy Axel weighs approximately 90 lbs, and is very GSD smart loving to be next to his humans.  This huge puppy is full of energy and he will fit perfectly in a home where there is a lot of activity, a fenced yard and people who love the BIG DOGS! He really likes walking, hiking, and just a ton of fun with activity. He also loves water and treats the water trough as his own personal spa. We recommend a home with a fence that is a minimum of 5 feet tall.   We do not suggest he go to a home with small children, or farm animals simply because he has no experience with them.  He hangs with his siblings and does well playing with them and also just enjoying their company.  He does need to eat separately for dinner as he protects his food from the other dogs due to early starvation. Handsome Axel is fully vetted, neutered and microchipped and he is kennel and crate trained for quiet time.  This boy needs some time and attention from a caring and dog savvy owner.  He would love to cuddle with you and be your adored companion.  He has such potential…..such love and such a need to grow and evolve into a fine companion in life.  Please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in this big baby!  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comOctober 31, 2024, 2:39 pm

Story
Gemma is our super smart and happy German Shepherd girl that is a real gem of a dog. This girl is 6 years old and weighs in on the smaller side of a GSD at just 60 pounds.  She is a genuinely curious and happy girl that has all the right measures of playfulness and lazy cuddly time to her personality.  Her favorite things are stuffed toys and tennis balls. This girl is a 'chill' girl and loves to take lots of naps during the day. She has great manners, knows basic commands, is crate trained and housebroken.   She would do great in a home with or without other dogs but we are told that she is a NO CAT type of dog.  She would like to hang out with children older than 10 years of age and on the calm side.  Gemma is ready to find her forever home where she can greet you with her tail wagging and a happy face that lets you know you are important in her life.   If you are interested please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com     PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.  October 31, 2024, 2:39 pm

Story
PLThis beautiful 2-year-old German Shepherd/kelpie mix girl is called Zelda and she is very special. This 50 lb girl endured ending up in a shelter sometime ago and was adopted out but spent the entire next year in the basement of the home of the adopter. How sad that she escaped the bondage of a shelter kennel and ended up in the dark basement hidden away and almost forgotten. She is now enjoying the love and nurturing of a foster home and family who are giving her the best of life while we wait for a new family to discover her. She is cray trained and housebroken and does beautifully with other dogs. Zelda has much of the German Shepherd traits in her personality and obviously those will include extreme intelligence, undying love and devotion to her owners, activity and exercise needed and a fenced in yard will round out the requirements for this girl. She is going to be someone's very special best friend forever. If you were interested in having a smart intelligent beautiful dog in your home and family life, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.comEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comOctober 31, 2024, 2:39 pm

Story
How about this beautiful white purebred German Shepherd girl named Lexi being your next BFF? This gorgeous white pure German Shepherd girl is 6 years old, 83 pounds and she is a protector of your family. She is loving and very well trained with a love for playing ball and also going for car rides.  This girl has an Independent nature and you really need to be smarter than this gorgeous girl.  She is thinking all the time and her mom is having to allow her to be rehomed due to the death of her husband and her not able to care for land and house and all 3 dogs as a single woman on a limited income.  She is working two jobs and the dogs are not receiving the attention that they are used to.  It was a tragic and sudden death which has left this human mom devastated to have to give up her three girls.  If you are interested in making Lexi your very own please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   She is the best dog and has impeccable manners and housebroken. Spayed and up to date on all shots and microchipped, this girl is deserving of a new forever and ever home. Story
Our beautiful girl is called Queen Phaedra and she is a 9 year old, 85 pound, pure German Shepherd that is tragically losing her home due to the sudden passing of her dad.  This has left her mom in a sad situation where she cannot possibly maintain the home and land and household bills.  There are 3 purebred GSD girls altogether and Phaedra is the leader of the pack in age and personality.  She loves to play ball and runs in her fenced yard for hours just enjoying the great outdoors.  Phaedra is a beautiful girl inside and out and she listens well and knows so many manners and commands.  She is housebroken and good in the house when her mom is gone.  She is the perfect senior girl with lots of time left in her life to bring so much to a family or person.  We want this girl to be taken care of in her golden years.  Can you help give her human mom some peace of mind to know that Phaedra won’t have to go to a shelter?  These are hard times and Critter Cavalry is going to search high and low to help this sweet human mom to place her three girls in committed homes.  Adoption fee will be very low.  They are in East Tennessee and we can transport northward to the northeastern states as well as adopt to Tennessee!  Please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.October 31, 2024, 2:39 pm

Story
My name is Harley Girl and I once upon a time had an idyllic life as you can see in these pictures.   I am a 6 year old girl that weighs 88 pounds and will die for her family if needing to protect them.  I adore people, other dogs and I love to have a good time.  I must find a new home soon because my daddy died and now my human mom cannot afford the land, the house and to care for all three of us beautiful German Shepherd girls.  She raised us all from puppies.  She is so sad but overwhelmed with all the new responsibilities she has to take on by herself now. She is also working two jobs just to pay the bills in our food. She has to sell the house in the land very soon and move. I do not have to go to a home with my other sisters, but I do need a home soon.  Life is tough, but we are tougher and are well trained girls and will make great family pets.  Yes, we are not puppies but we are housebroken, crate trained and NO TROUBLE ever.  I love care rides, running in a fenced yard to have fun and I will obey all your commands.  But most importantly she will give you her heart if you give her a chance.  Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you would like to adopt me.  I promise you will always be proud and happy you did   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comOctober 31, 2024, 2:39 pm

Story
Oliver was found by Columbia Animal Services on 2/1/24. He is believed to be about 4 years old weighing just under 80lbs and was neutered at the shelter on 2/9/24. Columbia Animal Services shelter is running at almost max capacity frequently and dogs that do not get adopted out risk euthanasia at the shelter. We are currently fostering Oliver to get him out of that environment. Oliver is very smart, he knows commands like sit, lay-down, shake, stay. He is house trained and has not needed to be crated when we are not home. He gets along well (for the most part) with our 2 dogs. He is also amazing with our 9yo son. They bonded immediately and Oliver follows him everywhere and sleeps in his room.

Story
Name: Honey Breed: German Shepherd Age: 4 and 1/2 years old Background: Honey was found running around Blythe Landing and was finally caught after nearly 2 weeks of effort. She was adopted shortly after but returned because she did not get along with their cat. Personality: When she first got here, she was timid, scared, and anxious. She is now much more confident and comfortable. Her tail wags when people enter her room and she gets excited when she sees the leash! She is sweet and takes treats gently. She appears house trained and knows "sit". She is calm in her kennel, preferring to nap on a soft bed. It doesn't appear that she knows how to play, but hopefully that will change soon. She has not yet been dog tested, but reacts strongly when dogs bark at her. She is also not cat friendly. We always recommend a meet and greet if you have another dog at home. Ideal Home: She may appreciate a quiet, calm home while she decompresses. It may take some time for her to really act like a dog as she comes out of her shell. She would enjoy a lot of space and activity and would not benefit from apartment living. Final Thoughts: Honey is very smart and well-behaved. She is sweet and enjoys being around people, and she would certainly love someone to keep her active!

Story
*Re Homing*** Meet Oden, a 5-year-old Black Lab and German Shepherd mix, weighing around 60 pounds. He’s located in the Charlotte, NC area and has been neutered. Oden has shown some food aggression, though he has made significant progress. He is a sweet dog but would likely do best in a home without other animals. While he’s grown up with both cats and dogs, he can sometimes show aggression toward them. Oden prefers not to be disturbed when lying down and can get irritated if forced to move. He is house-trained, enjoys playing with sticks, and loves stuffed toys, which he’ll proudly carry around when he's happy. He also knows basic commands like sit, lay down, and stay.
