STILL LOOKING FOR HER FUREVER PEOPLE ❤️ Aleah is a very good girl, but a she is still very puppy-like and can be mouthy. She knows sit, down, focus and place and walks well on a leash. She’s crate trained and potty trained! Aleah is a tripod but it doesn’t slow her down at all! She was hit by a car, resulting in the amputation, and she STILL will try to chase cars- a secure fence and leashed-walks are required. Aleah is a typical German Shepherd. She loves all people, but doesn’t understand her size, so probably no young kids. She does have prey-drive, so no kitties or small dogs. Aleah is goofy and playful but needs an adopter who will set clear and consistent rules and boundaries with her. When it comes to needing to take things from her, we always offer her a trade, and she LOVES to trade. Aleah has grown up a lot over the years and absolutely loves chilling on the couch or outside, just watching the world. She does enjoy playing with our large, male dog-testing dog, but she does not share well with other dogs- not food, toys nor the water bowl. We are recommending a home with no other dogs. Aleah will absolutely light up your life and you won’t be sorry to bring her into your home ❤️

Devi is a stunning 3-5 year old Belgian Malinois. Devi has some basic obedience, walks well on a leash, has good food and ball drive, is crate trained, vaccinated, spayed and LOVES PEOPLE! She wants to say hi to all the new people, especially if they have treats for her or can be convinced to play fetch with her. We have not had a chance to test her with children yet. Miss Devi is a medium energy adventure buddy. She wants to be included in everything you do and everywhere you go. Devi would prefer to be the only doggo in the home and she is *not* a fan of little critters (including small dogs and cats).

It has been a pleasure fostering Hoppin Pops A Lot over the last 8 months and I am going to miss her so much but I am so excited for her to find her furever home. This girl is seriously something special and she deserves the world 🥹. She keeps you on your toes and constantly surprises you in the best ways. Although her life started out really rough, she has never let it prevent her from LIVING. 🫶🏼✨Poppy✨🫶🏼 She is about a year old and around 40#. She would do best in a home with multiple pets, she is very pack oriented. She LOVES my younger cat, sometimes a little too much 😂😂. Good with kids - only note is she does have sensitive spots due to her injuries, so there shouldn’t be any kids jumping/plopping on her. She would make a great shop dog, greeting people all day long would probably be her dream. She has a bit of separation anxiety, and if she is alone and gets bored she will chew up random things like remotes and glasses 😅. She LOVES hanging out with other playful dogs. She is apprehensive and shy when meeting a group of people all at once but as soon as you level with her, she is all about kisses and love. She’s an expert at cuddles and kisses, and has an unbelievably sweet soul 💕 She is incredibly smart but I jokingly call her the ADHD dog, she is not great at staying on task, wants to do 100 things at once, and moves around until she collapses 😂. #nevada #renotahoe #adoptdontshop #rescuedog #nonprofit #HSLK9

Here is Declan! He has been in our care for over three years, being pulled from a kill shelter on his last day by a WARF volunteer. On arrival at our sanctuary, we discovered that Declan's left eye was completely ruptured and had to be removed due to either bullet or blunt force trauma. We also discovered that he was likely a former guard dog that had been badly trained, resulting in misplaced aggression towards people and animals. Declan started out with only one friend in the world and was aggressive towards everyone, but he is now confident enough to be able to be introduced to new people by his trusted handlers in a slow, controlled environment. In the three years that Declan has been with WARF, he has made slow but steady progress, and we now feel that he is ready to find his special person. He would be an ideal dog for a single woman, as his protective nature really comes through once he has bonded with someone. He would prefer an indoor-outdoor environment, as he likes to roam the perimeter, making sure everything is safe, but needs to be securely contained as he is a big, strong boy and can't be in an environment where he could encounter a person or animal he does not know. Declan has learned to walk nicely alongside other dogs but does not want to share his life, or his people, with other animals. Scooby Doo is an incredibly unique doberman/malinois mix (per DNA test)! Scooby is the GOOFIEST dog in the world. He has basic obedience training, is crate trained, housebroken and gets along with other large dogs. Scooby loves to cuddle with his humans, going on adventures and play play playing. Scooby has the genetics of 2 breeds known for their protective temperaments. Genetics will always play a part in his character, so he will need proper introductions to strangers- especially those entering his territory. Scooby has come a long way learning to trust strangers and disengage but he will need an adopter who is experienced with working breeds. Scooby is NOT a working candidate. He has a lot of environmental sensitivities. He is a big old scardey-cat. His barking may make you think he’s tough, but alas, he is not. He needs someone who will be a fair but gentle leader and who will continue his training with dedication. This boy is smart as a whip if you know how to listen to him and speak to him in a way he understands. Scooby is medium energy and his perfect adopter would be an active person who can take him on many adventures! Mamma Mia is part of our embankment mals! She and 6 others were rescued off a 20’ embankment. They had to be trapped and then the trap drug up the embankment to rescue them. They were all severely underweight and were very timid with people upon entering rescue. Considering the state they were in, these are some of the most forgiving and resilient dogs I’ve ever met. Mamma Mia is medium energy, crate trained, has started basic obedience and is big-dog social. No small animals for mamma! She absolutely ADORES affection, likes playing with toys and is food driven. She’s very smart and was the protector of the other embankment dogs. The other mals took her lead for everything. She can be a little food-aggressive with other dogs, so we do recommend separate feeding.

Sierra is another one of our embankment mals! She can still be slightly timid with new men, but is very social once she gets to know you! Sierra is a goofy goofy girl with a deformed front leg. That leg doesn’t slow her down one bit! Sierra is still super active and loves going for adventures in the car and on hikes. Sierra is still working on her doggy socialization skills and obedience, but is coming along well. She is crate trained and does walk well on leash. No small animals or dog parks for Sierra.
