Story
Waylon is a special boy looking for a patient and experienced adopter with another playful, confident dog in the home. He thrives with a canine companion to help him build confidence and navigate the world at his own pace.
Found in a park with his supposed littermates and mother, Waylon is extremely fearful and skittish around new people. Future adopters should expect that he will take time to warm up and may not allow petting for a while. However, with patience and the support of a resident dog, he will slowly start to come out of his shell. Once comfortable, his playful, puppy-like personality shines through! He loves rough-and-tumble play but doesn't always recognize when other dogs need a break.
Waylon is a high-energy pup who enjoys walks, outdoor play, and interactive activities. He’s still learning proper chewing habits and will need supervision with toys, socks, and rugs. He has been doing well with baths, brushing, and nail trims. Due to his skittish nature, he cannot be trusted off-leash unless in a secure, fenced area.
Waylon currently knows “sit,” “down,” and “load up” (into the car) and is working on “wait” and “ok.” With time, patience, and the right home, Waylon will be a rewarding companion!

We believe Waylon is a German Shepherd and was born around 5-1-2024. This puppy/dog is fostered in a private home in Lincoln. The adoption fee is $200 which helps cover the cost of vetting procedures. Adoptable pets will have received age-appropriate vaccines and dewormings, a microchip, heartworm test (if applicable) and a spay/neuter.
