Who has four paws, the softest fur, the sweetest soul and loves to cozy up with her people?! Why it’s me, Stella Jane! My favorite things in the world are spending time on the couch with my foster mom and dad, playing with my foster dog siblings, and hoarding my toys and bones on my spot on the couch. If your idea of fun is to hang out on the couch and binge watch Netflix or catch a nice long sports game, then I am your girl! I am a nervous girl, I don’t really care to be outside on my leash or around people I don’t know. You see, the world used to be a very scary place for me. But now that I am in Minnesota with my foster mom and dad, I am learning that I don’t have to be scared! It is taking me a while but my foster mom always ensures me I will never not have a cozy couch to relax on ever again! My future family will need to be patient as it takes me a while to get used to strangers. I also would love to find a home with a dog companion to show me the world isn't so scary! --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Calista is a beautiful, crazy, playful, rambunctious 2 year old German Shepherd. Found out in the woods in Rio Grande Valley with her mom and sister fending for themselves and trying to survive the coyotes. She was very skittish when she arrived at the rescue, and at times can still be, but she has come a long way. She gets excited and does a crazy spin in her excitement. She loves playing with other dogs, loves treats and playing with her foster siblings. She really needs a patient person who knows the breed and is willing to work with her and have the dedication to wait until she shows her very silly side :) Her foster mom has learned her secret- treats and smelling like hot dogs/ peanut butter helps! Calista loves other dogs and gets along great with her foster homes pack. She is playful and energetic with them. Sometimes maybe too energetic as she can be an escape artist and find even the smallest of holes in the fence to see if she can fit and make a b-line to the neighbors house! Calista will need to stay local to Texas for the time being. Each day she is gaining confidence and understanding and realizing that people are not all mean and that there ares some out there that really do love dogs and want nothing but goodness for them. Meet Tempe! Tempe and her siblings came to us in very rough shape, skinny little babies who needed a kind and understanding heart to show them that not all people are bad. Through lots of love and care (and plenty of kibble!) We were able to get all of her litter back into good shape, happy, and growing. Tempe herself is a great dog: very loving, friendly and energetic. She gets along well with people, children and other dogs. Could probably use some more exposure with cats. She's a water dog! She loves playing and drinking water, but she drinks on her own terms. Tempe has done really well at our local adoption events but is still looking for her forever family!
