Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Dusty, a handsome GSD who is ready to live the pawsome life with YOU!  Dusty has no idea how he landed in MN, but luckily he was befriended by an amazing human and made his way into rescue. It’s clear he was loved in his former life and is desperate for that feeling again.    Dusty is a true snuggler and physical affection is his love language. When his foster human comes home, Dusty can’t wait to lay his head in her lap and would accept head and ear rubs for hours if given the chance. Rumor has it he even loves to spoon in bed if he’s invited in. When he’s not snuggling, he’s showing you his toy skills. There is no toy that he doesn’t like, and he especially loves a good squeaker or stuffed puzzle toy. Dusty is crate trained and can also be trusted for the most part to roam free. He also loves a long car ride and would happily accompany you to the great northwoods to romp in the forest, and would even stay by your side to experience the joy of living on acreage.    As one may assume, Dusty has many of the typical GSD traits such as loyal, wicked smart, curious, protective, the ever-so-common Velcro tendencies. That said, a breed-experienced handler would have no problems as he has an innate desire to please his humans.    Dusty came into rescue as Heartworm positive, which is a preventable disease transmitted by mosquitoes. He just finished treatment and is expected to test negative during his next test. Dusty recently started slow activity in late October, and has shown himself to be a great leash walker, sniffer extraordinaire, and has minimal prey drive. He walks past people nicely and can pass most dogs without big emotions as long as his small bubble is respected. He is still getting used to being in public after being in low activity during treatment. We are learning more and more about him each day!  Dusty is from a local impound. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Amara, also known as Mama, is an absolute sweetheart who loves to be close by. When she's separated, she can get a bit vocal, but that's just her way of showing how much she loves company. She's a pro at playing fetch with her ball and knows basic commands, showing how obedient and eager to please she is. Click here and here for some cute videos of her playing! With her quick learning skills, she's bound to pick up even more. Amara enjoys walks and loves to sniff everything along the way. While she pulls on the leash and barks at other dogs, she responds well to redirection. She’s known to be playful with other dogs but tends to bark at them first. In her previous home, she lived with two other dogs and was trusted to free roam when her owner was out. Amara has been great with everyone she’s met, and while she hasn’t interacted with children yet, her sweet nature suggests she’d do wonderfully with them too. Amara is from Owner Surrender. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, my name is Diego! In my foster home, I also go by "Good Boy", "Big Dog", and "Little Goblin" - that last one is because of my ears, not because I have any goblin tendencies! My foster mom says I'm a handsome sweetheart and that I deserve a happily ever after, so she made me a profile in hopes of finding my perfect match:   Putting my best paw forward - these are things I like or excel at: People! (Friendly with adults and dog-savvy kids) Toys! (The squeakier the better) My collection of toys! (Gentle with toys and will sometimes treat them as a pacifier) The great outdoors! (Being outside, exploring the fenced-in yard, and just listening to the birds) Treats! (Preferred training reward and takes treats very gently) Sit! Down! Off! Come! (Knows these commands well) Singing the songs of my people! (Can be vocal) Housetrained! Crate trained! (Will go in crate but not a fan; great on own outside of crate) Energy-burning activities! (High energy) Modeling!  I'm always trying to be a good boy - here's what I'm working on: Leash training Making dog friends (Slowly meeting foster brother) Something else you should know about me: I'm on medication for seizures, but my foster mom hasn't seen any evidence of seizures since I've been in rescue.    Think you might be my forever after? Story
Location: Ruthton, MN Hey there! My name is Joni and I am the sweetest girl you'll ever meet! When I'm playing with other dogs I sometimes turn into a feisty little girl (foster mom says I'm all bark, no bite - whatever that means)! My dream home would be one that comes with a lot of cuddles, treats, and playing outside! I am happiest when I'm playing outside! If you're willing to play with me, we are going to be best friends! My foster mom says I would do best with an active family or another doggy sibling to play with! I love dogs and people of all ages! However, I do like to play a little rough with cats. So, it'd be best if I go to a home with only dogs or with dog savvy cats that can get away from me if I'm playing too rough. They're just so much fun! I'm still getting used to being away from foster mom. She keeps putting me in this thing called a playpen? Weird but whatever! I am quiet during the day and I sleep soundly throughout the night; however, once I hear your alarm clock I will let you know that I am awake! I love playing with toys and chasing my furry friends around! I am also very treat motivated and I love learning new tricks. I am so excited to meet you and I am ready to find my forever home! ---------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Location: Sioux Falls, SD Hi! My name is Fred! I am a big boy weighing in at 90lb, but I am the gentle giant type. I love pets and to chase tennis balls in the yard. It takes me a while to get comfortable with other dogs in the home, but I do like to play and wrestle once I get to know them. I enjoy sitting on the couch as much as I like to play, so I am a great combination of a couch potato and a fella that loves walks! I am used to being on a leash and I try not to pull unless I see something super interesting. I currently have a few cats as housemates. I like them a lot but sometimes they find my size and excitement to be a bit off putting, but I am always nice with them. I don't make a mess in my kennel and I got to the door to let my foster parents know that I need to go potty! I am a well behaved boy and I think I would make a great addition to your home! -------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Location: Minneapolis, MN Guess who's all grown up now? This guy! I've hit a growth spurt, and boy, has it been interesting. Picture this: long, lanky legs that would make a supermodel jealous, attached to a body that's decidedly... well, let's say "elongated." Imagine a wiener dog who raided the stilts cupboard, and you've got me in a nutshell. But that's not all, folks. Drumroll, please... I'm officially potty trained! That's right, no more "accidents" or suspicious puddles. I've mastered the art of doing my business outside like a true gentleman. I've got to say, I'm pretty proud of myself. Who knew growing up could be so rewarding? And here's another feather in my cap - I've learned how to play fetch! That's right, I'm not just a pretty face with abnormally long legs. I'm a bona fide retriever now. Throw a ball, and watch me go! Just don't expect a straight line - remember, I'm working with some interesting proportions here. Speaking of going places, we're making progress on my leash skills. It's a work in progress, mind you. Those pesky squirrels are everywhere, taunting me with their bushy tails and acorn-hoarding ways. But I'm trying my best to focus on the walk and not on planning world domination via squirrel elimination. Baby steps, right? I do not like to share my treats or food... can anyone relate? Just as you may swat someone's hand for reaching into your popcorn bowl, I will let others know if they are not welcomed to share my snacks. So, what do you say? Ready to add some fur, fun, and Hollywood-level charm to your life? With my new streamlined body, impeccable bathroom manners, and celebrity nickname, I'm quite the catch. Adopt me, and I promise to be the best decision you've made since discovering belly rubs! ----- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org).
