Story
Did you say something? I’m sorry if I don’t hear you right away, but my ears have aged a bit as have I. I was found out on my own and no one came looking for me. A nice animal control officer asked Paws and Claws to help, and they did. When you are around nine years old, being lost is no fun! Anyway, now I’m looking for someone who’s willing to take on a senior dog. I keep my kennel clean, and I walk nicely on a leash. And, I’m very friendly. They also say I give very good kisses, if that sways you at all. Anyway, please give a senior man a chance. Or, at least a share.Yours - Blue Adoption fee $250 + $30 microchip fee + tax

Story
Sue is a German Shepherd mix, weighs around 45 lbs. She was found on a reservation, where she had been running on her own for over a year. When she was finally trapped, the rescues in the area were full and we agreed to take her in. Despite her past, she is a very sweet and dog-friendly dog, though she remains quite timid. Sue is looking for a quieter home where she can feel safe and continue to adjust to life in a family environment. Sue has shown no signs of aggression and is friendly with other dogs. However, she should not live with cats, as she will chase them, though she is not aggressive toward them. She is eligible for our foster-to-adopt program, allowing her future family to get to know her in a home setting before fully committing. Alternatively, Sue is also looking for a foster home if someone is not ready to commit to adoption but is willing to help her in the meantime. Sue will be spayed on 1/24 and is up to date on her rabies and distemper vaccinations. She is also microchipped and has been on a deworming program. Our adoption fee includes post-adoption support, discounted classes, boarding, and daycare.

Story
Meet Snowball: Your Future Adventure Buddy! Introducing Snowball, an energetic and playful female husky puppy ready to fill your life with joy and excitement! At just 18 pounds, this little dynamo is bursting with personality and charm. Snowball is currently learning her way around the world-she's not fully kennel trained yet and is working on her potty training-but with your patience and love, she'll quickly blossom into the companion you've been dreaming of. This spirited girl loves to jump and play, which means she can be a bit mouthy at times. Because of her exuberance, we recommend a home without young children. However, with some consistent training, she will learn to channel her energy in positive ways! To help her grow into her best self, we strongly encourage puppy classes. These classes will not only aid in her training but also help her socialize and build confidence in a supportive environment. Snowball does enjoy her walks, though they're currently more about adventure than a leisurely pace! With a leash in hand, she's ready to explore the world around her. If you're looking for a loving companion who will keep you on your toes and fill your days with laughter, Snowball is the pup for you! With love, training, and plenty of adventures, she's sure to become a loyal friend. Adopt Snowball today and let the fun begin! Snowball is a very very high energy girl will require some training to channel that energy. Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org Adoption fee is $300 plus tax

Story
Chip is an eager-to-please pup who's ready to find his perfect match. His boundless enthusiasm makes him a star in training-he's already completed the puppy training program through Courteous K9! Chip thrives when he's active, whether it's going on adventures, learning new tricks, or just being your loyal sidekick. When he's not on the move, Chip loves to snuggle up by your side or follow you around the house, proving he's just as much a cuddler as he is a go-getter. He does well when left at home on his own but would truly shine with an active owner who can match his energy and help him channel it positively. As a German Shepherd, Chip would do best with someone who has experience with the breed or similar breeds and understands their need for both physical and mental stimulation. If you're looking for a motivated, loving companion who will keep you moving and melt your heart, Chip is your guy! Adoption fee is $300+ tax; please apply at www.campcompanion.org

Thanks for the details! Based on this, we can craft a blog post that highlights Gunner's unique personality and his need for a loving home. Here’s a draft: --- Meet Gunner: Your New Best Friend in Need of a Loving Home If you're looking for a loyal companion with a big heart, meet Gunner, a sweet and loving German Shepherd mix. Gunner is in search of a new family to call his own, and he's ready to show you just how much love he has to give. Gunner's Personality Gunner is a friendly, affectionate dog who thrives on attention and love. He's a true "clingy" companion who will always want to be by your side. Whether you're relaxing on the couch or out for a walk, Gunner will happily keep you company, giving you all the loyalty and affection he can muster. While Gunner is generally warm and loving, he does need time to adjust to new people and situations. Once he’s comfortable, though, you'll have a devoted companion who’s always there when you need him. A Few Quirks to Know About Gunner Like many dogs, Gunner has some quirks that make him all the more endearing: Sleep Startling: Gunner may startle when he's waking up or while he's asleep, so it’s important to approach him gently if he’s napping. Howling: Gunner may occasionally let out a howl, which is part of his personality and could be his way of expressing excitement or alerting you to something. Dog Selective: While Gunner loves people, he can be a bit selective about other dogs. He'd do best in a home where he's the only dog or with a dog he gets along with well. No Cats, Please: Unfortunately, Gunner doesn't get along with cats, so he needs a home where there aren't any feline friends. Gunner's Story Before arriving at the rescue, Gunner lived in a loving home where he was pampered and cared for. Unfortunately, due to his sleep-startling behavior and a baby on the way, his family made the difficult decision to rehome him to ensure a smooth transition for everyone involved. Why Gunner Needs You Gunner is a sweet, loving dog who just needs time and patience to adjust to new surroundings. His affectionate nature makes him a great companion for someone who’s willing to take the time to build trust and form a deep bond. Gunner deserves a home where he can feel safe and cherished, and he has a lot of love to give to the right family. If you're looking for a dog who will give you endless affection and loyalty, Gunner might be the perfect fit for you. Please consider opening your heart and home to this loving pup. How to Adopt Gunner If you think Gunner could be the perfect addition to your family, please reach out to The Rescue Connection for more details and to schedule a meet-and-greet.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Warren is a younger guy (1 to 2 years old) who was found as a stray on a rural property. He was held for the legal stray hold and no owner was ever found, so he came to us on 11/11/2024. He looks mostly like a German shepherd mix, but there could be other breeds in there like cattle dog and husky. He has been vet checked, neutered, and microchipped, and his fee is $150. Warren is a larger, strong boy who will require some good, consistent training and good exercise. He seems pretty well mannered and loves to be with people. He needs an experienced owner who can set clear, firm boundaries with him. We're not sure how he would do with other dogs as he can be possessive of toys and food. Cats? Most likely a no. No kids for him as he does need some training and still demonstrates some puppy behavior (mouthing and jumping). He'll definitely require some regular brushing to keep his coat fabulous! A fenced yard would be perfect for Warren until he perfects his leash skills. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.resuegroups.org. Keep an eye on your emails if you apply. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 14, 2024, 11:56 am
