Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Abel is affectionate, playful, smart, and obedient. He's also house-trained and a loyal companion who loves to cuddle, especially with his head on your lap, and is always ready for belly rubs. Abel enjoys a solid 10 hours of sleep, as long as you’re right there sleeping, too. He settles beautifully after a 5-10 minute romp with a ball or frisbee, a game of hide-and-seek, or a nice walk filled with plenty of sniffing and marking. And while he might pull a bit (okay, maybe a lot) on his walks, he’s well-mannered in the home. He even knows a few tricks and performs with or without treats! You can trust Abel to be calm and content when left out of his kennel for several hours—his longest solo time was seven hours, and he simply rested and kept watch for any "dangerous" Amazon trucks. Abel would love a home without kids or other animals, where he can relax without being disturbed during meals. He’s independent about his space and prefers not to be poked or prodded. When grandkids or visitors are over, he happily hangs out in the bedroom if needed. Truly, Abel is an easygoing guy who’s ready to bring so much love to the right home. He has a few quirks, but don’t we all?   Abel does take an oral medication twice a day to help prevent seizures.    Abel is from an owner surrender. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an   adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Amara, also known as Mama, is an absolute sweetheart who loves to be close by. When she's separated, she can get a bit vocal, but that's just her way of showing how much she loves company. She's a pro at playing fetch with her ball and knows basic commands, showing how obedient and eager to please she is. Click here and here for some cute videos of her playing! With her quick learning skills, she's bound to pick up even more. Amara enjoys walks and loves to sniff everything along the way. While she pulls on the leash and barks at other dogs, she responds well to redirection. She’s known to be playful with other dogs but tends to bark at them first. In her previous home, she lived with two other dogs and was trusted to free roam when her owner was out. Amara has been great with everyone she’s met, and while she hasn’t interacted with children yet, her sweet nature suggests she’d do wonderfully with them too. Amara is from Owner Surrender. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, my name is Diego! In my foster home, I also go by "Good Boy", "Big Dog", and "Little Goblin" - that last one is because of my ears, not because I have any goblin tendencies! My foster mom says I'm a handsome sweetheart and that I deserve a happily ever after, so she made me a profile in hopes of finding my perfect match:   Putting my best paw forward - these are things I like or excel at: People! (Friendly with adults and dog-savvy kids) Toys! (The squeakier, the better) My toy collection! (I’m gentle with my toys and sometimes even treat them like a pacifier) The great outdoors! (I love being outside, exploring the fenced yard, and listening to the birds) Treats! (I’m treat-motivated and take treats very gently) Sit! Down! Off! Come! (I know these commands well) Expressing myself vocally! (I can be a talker and like to share my thoughts) House trained! Crate trained! (I’ll go into my crate when needed, though it’s not my favorite. I’m very trustworthy when left on my own outside of the crate) Staying active! (I love being active and exploring) Modeling! Cuddling and Relaxing! (I enjoy curling up on the couch in the evenings or working on a nylabone while my foster pawrents watch football.) I’m always trying to be a good boy - here’s what I’m working on: Leash training Making dog friends (I’m slowly getting to know my foster brother) Something else you should know about me: I’m on medication for seizures, but my foster mom hasn’t seen any since I’ve been in rescue. Think you might be my forever after? Fill out an application so we can arrange our first date! Check out how awesome I did on WCCO!! https://www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/video/forever-home-friday-meet-diego/   *A generous supporter has paid part of Diego's adoption fee to help him find a loving home.* Diego is from a local impound. Story
Location: Ruthton, MN Hey there! My name is Joni and I am the sweetest girl you'll ever meet! When I'm playing with other dogs I sometimes turn into a feisty little girl (foster mom says I'm all bark, no bite - whatever that means)! My dream home would be one that comes with a lot of cuddles, treats, and playing outside! I am happiest when I'm playing outside! If you're willing to play with me, we are going to be best friends! My foster mom says I would do best with an active family or another doggy sibling to play with! I love dogs and people of all ages! However, I do like to play a little rough with cats. So, it'd be best if I go to a home with only dogs or with dog savvy cats that can get away from me if I'm playing too rough. They're just so much fun! I'm still getting used to being away from foster mom. She keeps putting me in this thing called a playpen? Weird but whatever! I am quiet during the day and I sleep soundly throughout the night; however, once I hear your alarm clock I will let you know that I am awake! I love playing with toys and chasing my furry friends around! I am also very treat motivated and I love learning new tricks. I am so excited to meet you and I am ready to find my forever home! ---------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (Distemper, Rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are a best guess.

Story
Location: Marion, SD My name is Peyton and I'm ready to meet my forever family! I'm calm and timid at first but become a goofy and outgoing girl once I warm up to you. I'm still learning how to dog, I don't know how to play yet. When I get excited, I don't know what to do with my paws and they just go crazy and there's no controlling them. Please make sure I have supervision around young children because I can't always contain my excitement. I am unsure about cats so far but like other dogs as long as they aren't too up in my face. I love snuggles and I make the cutest sounds when I yawn! I have a good amount of energy so I'm looking for a large yard or someone who will be very active with me. I'm house trained and partially kennel trained. I know how to sit but I'm still learning other commands. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Gunner is an adorable sable male GSD. Gunner lost his mom suddenly and needed a place to go, so we took him in. Gunner had a knee surgery previously, so he does walk a little funny, but that does not stop him from playing with his jolly balls! Gunner should be the only dog in the home at this point in his life. He is crate trained, neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Experience needed for Gunnar, he’s a great dog, but needs a strong handler. If you are interested in learning more about Gunner, you can apply on our website www.skylarsscholarships.org (the application is listed under the “more” tab).

Story
Hi there! My name is Beni and I'm a big handsome boy! Let me tell you about myself.  I was adopted as a puppy but due to some family problems, with no fault of my own, I was returned to the rescue. My first week or so at my new foster home I was very confused and it was scary. I stayed in my kennel a lot, but I started warming up to my foster mom. We went on walks and I started feeling more comfortable. Then I started to get to know the resident dogs and made friends. Now, I am still nervous around new people but when I get to know you, I'll be your best friend.  I'm a silly boy who likes to play! I run around the backyard, I like to play in the kiddie pool, and even like to stick my head in the water bowl! I do like to play but I love my humans! I want to know where you are so I'll follow you around and I'll jump on the couch or bed to be with you. I wouldn't do well with small children because I'm a bigger guy. I also don't think I'd do well with cats because I want to chase them. I'm a good boy on walks and I ride in the car well! When I see my leash, I get really excited! I also do well in my kennel. When my foster parents leave the house, I go right into my kennel. I even did well at the vet recently.  Are you ready to meet me? I'm ready for my new, forever family! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Distemper combo vaccines appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm and flea/tick preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 5:33 pm
