Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Abel is affectionate, playful, smart, and obedient. He's also house-trained and a loyal companion who loves to cuddle, especially with his head on your lap, and is always ready for belly rubs. Abel enjoys a solid 10 hours of sleep, as long as you’re right there sleeping, too. He settles beautifully after a 5-10 minute romp with a ball or frisbee, a game of hide-and-seek, or a nice walk filled with plenty of sniffing and marking. And while he might pull a bit (okay, maybe a lot) on his walks, he’s well-mannered in the home. He even knows a few tricks and performs with or without treats! You can trust Abel to be calm and content when left out of his kennel for several hours—his longest solo time was seven hours, and he simply rested and kept watch for any "dangerous" Amazon trucks. Abel would love a home without kids or other animals, where he can relax without being disturbed during meals. He’s independent about his space and prefers not to be poked or prodded. When grandkids or visitors are over, he happily hangs out in the bedroom if needed. Truly, Abel is an easygoing guy who’s ready to bring so much love to the right home. He has a few quirks, but don’t we all?   Abel does take an oral medication twice a day to help prevent seizures.    Abel is from an owner surrender. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet sweet Ethel! Here are some quick stats on her! -Very treat motivated. I was able to use her own food to make her stick to my side in the yard. Additionally, used this method for recall/sit. - She loves kids as long as they respect her space. She does scurry away from quick movements but will forgive you if you hold your hands down and palms up. - She's eager to please. Very trainable. Super affectionate. Doesn't do furniture unless you ask her to come up. She only comes half way. - She is dog friendly but requires slow intro unless there is a barrier. -Loves attention. She'll lean into you and nudge for pets.   Does she sound like a fit for you??   Ethel is from an Owner Surrender. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Hudson, a sweet and charming young gentleman with so much love to give! This bright boy has already mastered "sit" and "shake," showing off his eagerness to learn and please. Hudson takes treats with the softest, most gentle touch and walks like a dream on a leash—he’s the perfect companion for strolls around the neighborhood. Hudson is the sweetest boy. He is often seen enjoying the world from our yard, or slipping off to the next room to take a nap. He allows you to give him affection, but doesn’t seek it out. He sleeps through the night. Kennels easily. And is overall a 10 out of 10 good boy. Though he’s a little shy at first, Hudson is ready to blossom with patient encouragement to help him build confidence. He’s also a friend to cats and settles down peacefully at night in his crate. With his kind heart and gentle nature, Hudson is sure to make a wonderful addition to a loving home! Story
Location: Marion, SD My name is Peyton and I'm ready to meet my forever family! I'm calm and timid at first but become a goofy and outgoing girl once I warm up to you. I'm still learning how to dog, I don't know how to play yet. When I get excited, I don't know what to do with my paws and they just go crazy and there's no controlling them. I am good with cats and like other pups! I don't know if I like children (haven't been around them) but my foster mom thinks I would since I love everyone and everything, I do use my paw to get attention or to show my love (sometimes I don't know my own strength). I now know what "sit" "come" and "no" mean. I am not food aggressive, submissive attitude, extremely treat motivated and I loves to cuddle with people. I love snuggles and I make the cutest sounds when I yawn! I have a good amount of energy so I'm looking for a large yard or someone who will be very active with me. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.

Story
Gunner is an adorable sable male GSD. Gunner lost his mom suddenly and needed a place to go, so we took him in. Gunner had a knee surgery previously, so he does walk a little funny, but that does not stop him from playing with his jolly balls! Gunner should be the only dog in the home at this point in his life. He is crate trained, neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Experience needed for Gunnar, he’s a great dog, but needs a strong handler. If you are interested in learning more about Gunner, you can apply on our website www.skylarsscholarships.org (the application is listed under the “more” tab).

Apply on our website ( https://www.healingheartsrescue.org/adopt )  to  set up a private meeting or check below for my adoption event schedule. Age: Approximately 8 years old Weight: 64 lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Unknown Kid friendly: Yes Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Does well being left loose when alone   Meet Ms. Ruby Mae! Ruby Mae is a happy-go-lucky girl who is in rescue because her owner passed away. She adores her people and is a velcro dog. She’s shy at first, but it doesn't take her long to bond and become your loyal shadow. Ruby Mae has a fun, peppy energy and needs exercise and her mind engaged, but overall, she has a calm demeanor and will curl up in the evenings to relax with you and the family. She loves to walk around with her toys in her mouth, the noise makers and chews are her favorite, and she is obsessed with car rides and being involved in whatever her people are doing! She also loves walks and running in the dog parks but still needs more training not to pull. She's good with other dogs, but because she can be shy, she needs her space during the intro, and once she feels safe, she will sometimes even engage in play with dogs her size or smaller. Ruby Mae feels the safest at night if she can sleep on the bed or next to you on the floor in her own bed. She is learning basic commands and is doing great with come, sit, stay, and lay down, but she will need continued reinforcement. She is 100% potty trained. If what you're searching for is a loyal companion who is friendly, smart, moderately active, and loves to be with you everywhere, this just may be your girl! Story
Meet Tulane! This charming Shepherd mix is the ultimate snuggle buddy, always ready to curl up in your arms and soak up the love. He’s incredibly tolerant, happily letting you carry him around, give him all the hugs, and shower him with affection—Tulane truly thrives on being close to his humans. While he may take a moment to warm up, once he does, you'll find an affectionate and loyal friend who’s always by your side. Tulane is house-trained and crate-trained, making him an easy fit for your family. Though he enjoys the company of other dogs, his herding instincts can sometimes make him a bit of a pest to other pups, so he would do best as an only dog or with other dogs that are able to be patient with him as he learns his boundaries.  Tulane has a condition called patellar luxation, affecting his kneecap, but with a few lifestyle adjustments, he’s still an active and joyful dog. The vet recommends avoiding long walks on pavement, but this doesn't keep him from living life to the fullest—he’s great at finding ways to entertain himself without putting stress on his knee. If you're looking for a gentle, snuggly, and endlessly loyal companion, Tulane is your perfect match. Bring him home, and let this sweet soul fill your life with warmth and joy! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, rabies vaccination if age appropriate, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Distemper combo vaccines appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm and flea/tick preventative while in rescue. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification!
