Thanks for the details! Based on this, we can craft a blog post that highlights Gunner's unique personality and his need for a loving home. Here’s a draft: --- Meet Gunner: Your New Best Friend in Need of a Loving Home If you're looking for a loyal companion with a big heart, meet Gunner, a sweet and loving German Shepherd mix. Gunner is in search of a new family to call his own, and he's ready to show you just how much love he has to give. Gunner's Personality Gunner is a friendly, affectionate dog who thrives on attention and love. He's a true "clingy" companion who will always want to be by your side. Whether you're relaxing on the couch or out for a walk, Gunner will happily keep you company, giving you all the loyalty and affection he can muster. While Gunner is generally warm and loving, he does need time to adjust to new people and situations. Once he’s comfortable, though, you'll have a devoted companion who’s always there when you need him. A Few Quirks to Know About Gunner Like many dogs, Gunner has some quirks that make him all the more endearing: Sleep Startling: Gunner may startle when he's waking up or while he's asleep, so it’s important to approach him gently if he’s napping. Howling: Gunner may occasionally let out a howl, which is part of his personality and could be his way of expressing excitement or alerting you to something. Dog Selective: While Gunner loves people, he can be a bit selective about other dogs. He'd do best in a home where he's the only dog or with a dog he gets along with well. No Cats, Please: Unfortunately, Gunner doesn't get along with cats, so he needs a home where there aren't any feline friends. Gunner's Story Before arriving at the rescue, Gunner lived in a loving home where he was pampered and cared for. Unfortunately, due to his sleep-startling behavior and a baby on the way, his family made the difficult decision to rehome him to ensure a smooth transition for everyone involved. Why Gunner Needs You Gunner is a sweet, loving dog who just needs time and patience to adjust to new surroundings. His affectionate nature makes him a great companion for someone who’s willing to take the time to build trust and form a deep bond. Gunner deserves a home where he can feel safe and cherished, and he has a lot of love to give to the right family. If you're looking for a dog who will give you endless affection and loyalty, Gunner might be the perfect fit for you. Please consider opening your heart and home to this loving pup. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Kato came to the shelter as an owner surrender due to rental property restrictions. He's a 2 year old German shepherd/pit bull mix. He's friendly, strong, and active. He's also really handsome! Just don't tell him that - we don't want it to go to his head. Kato has been vet checked, chipped, and neutered and his fee is $150. Kato has had some training and knows some basic commands. He does forget his manners sometimes as he's overwhelmed with enthusiastic affection. We do think he has the potential to do okay with a well mannered female dog. He should be okay with older kids. He's bright and eager to please and tries really hard to be a lap dog sometimes. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 12:49 pm

Story
Hazelnut “Hazey” is a 5.5-year-old German Shepherd Husky mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. At around 55 pounds, she is the perfect medium-large size and absolutely full of love for her people. Hazey is everything you want in a companion. She is sweet, affectionate, and loves to be involved in whatever you are doing. Whether it is going for walks, playing with her toys, or curling up for snuggles, she is happiest just being with her person. She has a fun, silly side too, complete with adorable butt wiggles and the softest ears you will ever feel. She knows sit, down, and come, and does well being left home alone, where she settles in nicely and relaxes. She is gentle with people and thrives on human connection. Hazey does have a sensitive stomach and is on a prescription diet that will need to be continued in her new home. Hazey is looking for a home where she can truly succeed. While she does fine out in public with other dogs, she wants to be the only pet in the home and cannot live with children. She needs a calm, predictable environment where she can have her person all to herself without the stress of other animals or the unpredictability of kids. In the right home, Hazey is going to be an incredibly loyal, loving, and devoted companion. Adoption fee is $350+tax, please apply at www.campcompanion.org

Story
Introducing Bulle! This big boy came to PCHS when his owner got sick and was not able to continue caring for him. He is estimated to be some sort of German Shepherd mix, but his exact breed makeup is unknown. He does have a `Shepherd` bark and enjoys talking back to you! Bulle will need to loose some weight in his new home as he is currently on the chunky side - weighing in over 90 pounds! Bulle is on the older side at about 8 years old. He was a little confused and nervous when he first arrived, but that is understandable with what he has been through. After a short adjustment period, he has quickly become friends with the staff and volunteers! Bulle would love to be back in a home of his own. He enjoys leisurely walks and naps in the afternoons. He has lived with other dogs (male and female) and has done well with that, cats are unknown. If this big ole boy sounds like he could be a good match for you, apply online today! Adoption applications can be found on the homepage of our online website.Adoption fee is $200 + $30 microchip fee + tax

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Alan came to the shelter on 1/22/2024 from the city pound after his legal hold time was finished. We're guessing on his breed mix, but are thinking German or Dutch shepherd, pit bull, and maybe even mastiff. He is a big, strong, and friendly guy with a gorgeous brindle coat. He is about 6 years old and has been fully vetted and microchipped. His fee is $150. Alan does appear to be housetrained and does know some basic commands. He walks pretty well on leash with a harness. He's very in tune to people and kind of a sensitive soul (don't tell him we said anything). He's also an absolute sweetie who wants to be around people all the time. We do think he should be the only pet in the home. He might be a bit too large and strong for really young kids.  NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.
