Story
Hi there! My name is Beni and I'm a big handsome boy! Let me tell you about myself.  I was adopted as a puppy but due to some family problems, with no fault of my own, I was returned to the rescue. My first week or so at my new foster home I was very confused and it was scary. I stayed in my kennel a lot, but I started warming up to my foster mom. We went on walks and I started feeling more comfortable. Then I started to get to know the resident dogs and made friends. Now, I am still nervous around new people but when I get to know you, I'll be your best friend.  I'm a silly boy who likes to play! I run around the backyard, I like to play in the kiddie pool, and even like to stick my head in the water bowl! I do like to play but I love my humans! I want to know where you are so I'll follow you around and I'll jump on the couch or bed to be with you. I wouldn't do well with small children because I'm a bigger guy. I also don't think I'd do well with cats because I want to chase them. I'm a good boy on walks and I ride in the car well! When I see my leash, I get really excited! I also do well in my kennel. When my foster parents leave the house, I go right into my kennel. I even did well at the vet recently.  Are you ready to meet me? I'm ready for my new, forever family! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Distemper combo vaccines appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm and flea/tick preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 3, 2024, 5:49 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $350 plus taxMeet Pixie, she is being surrendered by her owner, who adopted her a year or so ago, due to lack of time and having human medical things going on.   They were honest in that they didn't do much with her and socializing her outside of the family.  Pixie is a typical shepherd that is looking for:   A leader to help her become the best she can be Someone who won't make her be in charge, she really doesn't like it nor does she know what to do with it. A German Shepherd savvy owner who wants to train her, socialize her,  so awkward when meeting new people She is house trained, well mannered for her family and really wants to be a social butterfly, but she needs focus and simple training to be able to do that.  She is good with other dogs.  Cats are unknown.  Small kids might be a bit too chaotic for her.A note from her surrendering ownerWe adopted Pixie in October of 2022 and we have loved having her in our home.  She is sweet and loving and very loyal to her people.  She is an excellent guard dog and lets us know when anyone is close by.  She loves to play fetch and she loves to run around in the yard.  She doesn’t like sudden movements or loud noises.  She is afraid of brooms, mops or anything that resembles a long stick.  Pixie received one-on-one training through Happy Tailz last summer and she proved to be a very good student.  She understands a lot of words and is extremely smart.  We are sad that our situation has changed and has made it difficult for us to take care of Pixie.  We hope Pixie can find her forever home where she can get all the time and love she deserves. If you love German Shepherds and really want to make a difference in one's life, she is your girl! If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxHi. My name is Misha. I am new to Minnesota and very excited to have a family of my own.A little about myself. My mom says I have a split personality. I’m like a golden retriever trapped inside the body of a Malinois. My favorite thing to do is sit on my mom or dad‘s lap on the couch when they sit down. I have very good manners, although I am working on keeping my face off the counter. I’m excited to meet new people and I’m not bothered by kids. You should see me walk on a leash, I really do a great job. Oh, and every time my mom calls my name, I come running as fast as I can. I do all of my personal business outside, I do not beg for food and when my mommy leaves, I go right into my kennel. Sometimes, however, the Malinois comes out. Squirrels are so much fun and are clearly a threat to the entire yard. I take safety very seriously. I don’t like it when a dog comes into my yard without saying hi first. I know I need to work on this. And sometimes when playing with another dog, I hit my turbo mood and I need help to calm down. I am a puppy after all.I would really like a family that is familiar with shepherds. I like to have exercise, a job and someone who will require me to be a good girl, but then also treat me like a baby sometimes.   If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption.
