Story
Blue is an energetic dog, he loves treats and walks in the neighborhood. He likes to sniff other animals but is fairly gentle with strange animals, he sometimes gets confused when big dogs play roughly with him (he only been around small dogs). My family loves him with all our hearts but with the new baby and new job hours it’s hard to give home the love and attention he deserves. When adopted he will come with whatever supplies we have for him, except a crate.

I`m in a FOSTER HOME! If you want to meet me, email my foster parent at gbrega@gwu.edu for more info and to set-up a meet-and-greet! Check out Maria`s video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYGAU3GeCuEIntroducing Maria, a name that perfectly embodies elegance, sweetness, and an abundance of love. This incredible girl has faced her share of challenges but has emerged with a spirit that shines brightly. When she arrived as a stray, she was weak and emaciated, yet her tail wagged with determination, proving that her heart was as big as ever.Today, Maria is thriving and ready to embrace the beautiful life she truly deserves. As a senior, she brings a wonderfully calm presence to any home, yet she still enjoys gentle strolls and, most importantly, soaking up all the love and attention she can get. Her gratitude is evident in every wag and cuddle! She gets along great with other dogs and with kids. She hasn`t met any cats.Maria does require prescription dog food, but she`s an enthusiastic eater and has no trouble with mealtime. Her foster parent can’t speak highly enough of her: “Maria is the sweetest, most affectionate dog I’ve ever met. Despite her past, she is polite, loves meeting new people, and is always ready for pets! She’s doing well with her alone time and is making great progress on pad training.”If you`re looking for a loving companion who will fill your home with warmth and joy, Maria is the one for you. She’s ready to shower you with affection and be the loyal friend you’ve been waiting for. Come meet Maria and discover just how special she truly is!

Story
Lisa is a beautiful black and tan German Shepherd with a long road ahead of her. Whatever happened to her has been scary. About a year old, Lisa needs a safe space and time to slowly come to realize that some good humans can be trusted. She’s warming up now, but it will be a gentle process, requiring patience and space. As a working dog, she will need a lot of exercise and will do best when she has fun and games to keep her clever mind stimulated. She is a smart pup and needs a job! If you have experience with this breed, Lisa is the dog for you.

Story
Male, 1 year old, 42 lbs Meet North -- a sweet dog with the most beautiful baby blue eyes! Rescued from the euthanasia list, this affectionate boy loves to be near his humans, giving and receiving all the love you could ever hope for. He is especially a fan of walks and is great on his leash. Once you've had your stroll together, he'll happily snooze on his bed or, even better, next to his human by the couch. This charming boy is also very smart: North has already learned sit and shake! He's making progress on his crate training, settling down pretty quickly and sleeping in it while he's alone. Now that North is in a safe space, he has begun to learn about how much fun toys can be. North does great with other dogs, playing with his older canine foster brother and stopping to give him space when needed. This goofy boy is ready for his forever home -- apply today to meet North! For more of North's adventures, follow @Foster_life_with_cc on Instagram! _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

Story
Active Axel is a handsome golden male German Shepherd/ Great Pyrenees mix who was born on February 11th, 2023 and is still a puppy in every way. He is one of six siblings that survived from a litter of 12. Our guy Axel weighs approximately 90 lbs, and is very GSD smart loving to be next to his humans.  This huge puppy is full of energy and he will fit perfectly in a home where there is a lot of activity, a fenced yard and people who love the BIG DOGS! He really likes walking, hiking, and just a ton of fun with activity. He also loves water and treats the water trough as his own personal spa. We recommend a home with a fence that is a minimum of 5 feet tall.   We do not suggest he go to a home with small children, or farm animals simply because he has no experience with them.  He hangs with his siblings and does well playing with them and also just enjoying their company.  He does need to eat separately for dinner as he protects his food from the other dogs due to early starvation. Handsome Axel is fully vetted, neutered and microchipped and he is kennel and crate trained for quiet time.  This boy needs some time and attention from a caring and dog savvy owner.  He would love to cuddle with you and be your adored companion.  He has such potential…..such love and such a need to grow and evolve into a fine companion in life.  Please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in this big baby!  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 5, 2024, 1:27 pm
