Story
Gentle and precious senior miss in search of a mellow and quiet home please. Yes, this very pretty girl, Imogen, is seeking a loving retirement home where she can get the love and care she needs. Imogene was found as a stray, and we could tell this gal needed some assistance, nice meals, and soft beds. She has been a very good girl while she waits for her hero adopters. Imogen has been enjoying the outdoor breaks, and she has been really relishing the love and pettings. She is so SWEET! Imogen needs adopters that have the time and resources to get her all the care she needs. She has some stiff joints (who doesn’t these days!) and would appreciate a home with few or no stairs please. If you enjoy a quiet lifestyle and are seeking a like-minded pooch, Imogen is the gal for you!

Story
I welcomed Hiro into my life from a family who, sadly, had to move overseas and couldn’t take him along. Hiro is a spirited 6-year-old German Shepherd with boundless energy, a wonderful personality, and a truly kind heart. He thrives in an environment where he has plenty of space to explore and play. Ideally, Hiro’s new home would include a large, enclosed yard where he can run to his heart’s content. He’ll do best with an active and energetic companion who can match his zest for life and provide him with the love and attention he deserves.

Story
Male, 1 year old, 42 lbs Meet North -- a sweet dog with the most beautiful baby blue eyes! Rescued from the euthanasia list, this affectionate boy loves to be near his humans, giving and receiving all the love you could ever hope for. He is especially a fan of walks and is great on his leash. Once you've had your stroll together, he'll happily snooze on his bed or, even better, next to his human by the couch. This charming boy is also very smart: North has already learned sit and shake! He's making progress on his crate training, settling down pretty quickly and sleeping in it while he's alone. Now that North is in a safe space, he has begun to learn about how much fun toys can be. North does great with other dogs, playing with his older canine foster brother and stopping to give him space when needed. This goofy boy is ready for his forever home -- apply today to meet North! For more of North's adventures, follow @Foster_life_with_cc on Instagram! _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

Story
Sugar and Spice and Everything nice..That is our Sugar Plum. This sweet girl has fosters laughing everyday. She is smart, playful and gentle. Even learning how to high five! BUT she does come with a warning according to her foster mom...You will accomplish nothing during your workday becaue she is really good at convincing you to snuggle on the couch!... She is not a fan of her crate and does well outside with many outdoor trips, her housetraining is going well and so is her walking on a leash. Sugar loves to run in the back yard and wants them to chase her. Her joy is contagious! She is a German Shepherd mix for sure with her smarts and floppy ears. Probably some lab in her too!. She is 22 pounds at 4 months now. With much love to give, this girl will make a wonderful addition to any family The adoption fee for this dog is $450 ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs....all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! Puppies require an adopter who is home a good part of the day to continue their training! They are up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives. If you are viewing on Petfinder and cannot see photos or would like to apply for this dog please visit our website, www.frecklesfoundation.org. Freckles Foundation & Animal Rescue cannot guarantee the exact age or breed of any animal in our care. The age and breed listed are based on information we may have been provided, and the appearance of the animal.

Story
Our home has changed significantly since welcoming our baby boy, and unfortunately, Cece is not suited to live in a home with young children. Just the same, Cece is incredibly loyal and playful, thriving off affection from her people. She has had extensive training—she knows commands like come, sit, down, place, heel, and more. She’s nervous around unknown guests, especially children, and can feel overwhelmed in high-stimulation environments like loud city sounds or busy streets. Despite this, Cece absolutely lights up at the dog park. She would be perfectly happy living with another dog who matches her energy and playfulness, or she’d be great as a one-on-one companion or as an addition to an adults-only household. Cece would do best with outdoor space. Cece is so loving and affectionate—she wakes us up every morning with cuddles and kisses, and we will miss her dearly. Our greatest wish is to find her a loving, stable home where she can feel safe, happy, and live her best life.

Story
Hi, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Charlie. I don’t remember much of my previous life other than I had a litter of puppies--and I'm only 1 1/2 years old! The nice people at the shelter found me and then slowly nursed me back to a healthy weight since I was just skin and bones. Now I'm 60 lbs. However, my past doesn’t define me. In fact, the nice people at the shelter have described me as “small and docile.” This is what my foster mom has to say about me: Charlie is a super sweet, gentle, girl who most prefers spending time with her people! She is great on walks and stays right by your side and doesn't pull. She only barks periodically and only if another dog is barking. Charlie is very gentle with our 1-year-old daughter and would be great for a family with kids or another dog because she enjoys playing. She is a snuggler and gives kisses, knows how to sit, is treat-motivated, takes treats gently, and is housetrained. Charlie has separation anxiety and we are currently working on the best methods to make her feel safe and comfortable when we leave the house. She would do best with someone who has previous dog experience, is home the majority of the time, and has the flexibility and patience to work with her so that she can be most comfortable in her new forever home! Charlie has spent time at doggy day care and does really well there. She loves hanging out and playing with her doggy friends. Charlie will make a fabulous furry family member. She is perfect in every way and once she meets her forever person/people, as long as they give her unconditional love and support, she will bloom into an even more perfect version of herself!  ##2033441##
