He’s especially fond of women and bonds deeply with his people. Kai is not high energy and prefers a calm, low-conflict environment where he can feel secure and understood. Kai is intelligent and trainable, but he will benefit from continued leash work, as he does have a high prey drive for squirrels. He is not food motivated and is currently on a raw diet. He can do well in an apartment for up to 6 hours at a time, as long as he gets several walks each day. Kai would do best with older children or a shepherd-savvy home that understands his size and thoughtful nature. She’s a dog with a drive, and active engagement is how she’ll thrive, not outsourced puzzles or games. Lara is all about play. She has puppy energy and thinks everything is a toy including zooming kids. She will need guidance on gentle interactions; an owner who will commit to training as she still a very much a nippy/bitey puppy. Lara is incredibly smart and eager to learn. She loves training sessions, picks up new cues quickly, and has mastered polite leash walking. She rides beautifully in the car and sleeps quietly in her crate at night. Hey there! I’m Honeysuckle! I’m a 1-year-old, 44-pound German Shepherd mix with striking black and white fur… and a flair for adventure. I was found as a stray, which basically makes me a professional explorer! I’ve sniffed more sidewalks than most dogs dream of! Not bad for a young girl like myself! Fortunately, I was found by some caring people, and am looking to be placed in a loving home. I’m a friendly and curious gal and so far, I've really enjoyed the people (and other dogs!) I've met at AHOTO. Now, I am still a puppy so my manners are hit or miss and I have quite a bit of energy. I mean well but hey, what do you expect?! I've never had any proper training. I am smart though and I know I will catch on really quick so please give me a shot. I just need a family that is willing to take me to training and give me all the exercise and mental enrichment I need to be a happy and healthy pup - that way we can ALL live happily ever after!
