Story
Hello there, I'm Sable. I would love to see the world as an interesting and beautiful place. I am timid, but give me a few meet and greets then you'll see my sweetness shine through. Because I am nervous and still learning about the world, I may be a bit of a flight risk in the beginning. I love treats, so maybe keep these close by since they help me feel safe and brave. Every day, I'm working on my confidence, learning that the world isn't so scary. I'd love to continue this journey with a patient friend who will guide me with gentle encouragement. With your love and support, I'm sure I'll blossom into the brave, happy dog I know I can be. Will you be my confidence coach? Adopt me and let's grow together.

Story
Kind Regards, Fran DiBernardo Do you want to meet a sweet, affectionate and loyal girl who wants to be your devoted best friend and constant companion? Are you looking for a dog with high energy that will go hiking, running and exploring with you and loves car rides? Or are you looking for the next champion in the large dog agility class - a dog who is fearless, fast, agile, strong and loves running through small spaces? Do you need a watchdog and bodyguard? Do you love playing with a big dog? Then Frida is the dog for you! Frida is a gorgeous young girl who had a rough start in life. She was turned in as a stray to the NYC Manhattan Animal Care Center in mid-June, very thin and scared. After about 5 weeks she was put on the euthanasia list and would have been killed if Happy Go Lucky Mastiff Rescue had not placed her into a foster home. Frida is 66% German Shepherd, 20% Dutch Shepherd and 14% Tervuren. These are all very intelligent breeds and Frida is a very intelligent dog. She came to her foster home with no training, and has learned many commands: Sit, stay ("done is her release word), look, wait, down, off, come, heel. At about 16 months old (birth approximately Sept 1, 2022), Frida is considered a dog "teenager, so a little rebelliousness and sassiness will be part of her personality until she is about 2 years old. She definitely knows what she wants, and that is playing fetch and running-off energy. Frida still pulls hard on a leash and is still learning leash manners. For this reason, she will need a fenced-in yard accessed directly by a door from the house. An electric fence will not work as she is fearless and tough. Frida is crate trained but not yet completely housebroken. Frida is a large dog at about 72 lbs. She is tall, sleek and all muscle. Frida has an intense prey drive. She needs a home with absolutely no small animals or cats. She likes her foster brother but plays too rough for him. She may do well with another large, young dog who also likes to play rough. Frida is strong and clumsy and may knock down young children, so no children under 12.

Story
Donut was brought to BCHS when he was found at a local daycare with an injury which required surgery to repair. Since then, he has recovered beautifully and doesn't seem to have any resulting side effects. Donut is a super silly boy with a big personality. He loves going on walks but can get a little too excited and start mouthing and jumping up so some training is recommended. He also would love to just lounge around with you on the couch while getting some pets. It's really the best of both worlds with this guy as long as you're willing to put in the work with him when it comes to walks. He also loves playing with his stuffed animals. Donut does need a grain free diet, including treats and table scraps. Donut would need to be in a dog and cat free home. If you think Donut would be a great addition to your household, please apply or call for more information.

Story
Spud!  A super nice and friendly 6 month old boy, who loves to play and loves everyone.  Spud was found abandoned along a road with Montana, who may or may not be his sister, though they appear to be the same age.  We are working on his housebreaking.  He's got some growing to do, but right now he's only a little over 40 lbs.  He's playful with other dogs and was good with our cat, Waylon.  He would do better with older children due to his playful manner. Please Note:  You must live within a 175-mile radius of our facility to be considered for adoption. To fill out an online application to adopt this pet, cut and paste this link:  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/2627/generic You can also find a link to our online adoption application on our website at www.hartforanimals.org/adopt or on our Petfinder homepage.  We process applications in the order they are received, therefore, it could take UP TO 2 weeks for us to respond to your application. Please do not send us an inquiry unless you have specific questions. All our dogs/puppies are spayed or neutered, vaccinated for rabies, Bordetella, and distemper/parvo, given flea medication, heartworm tested, and given a microchip before going to their new home. ##2114366##

Story
Hello, I'm Sawyer. I'm still young and figuring out this big world. It's all a bit overwhelming, but I'm taking it in stride. I can be a bit shy, but once I warm up to you, you'll see how sweet and mellow I can be. Food is very important to me, and I like to make sure no one will take it away. I'm learning to trust, and with patience, I know I'll get there. I may need a little extra love and understanding, but I promise, it'll be worth it. Adopt me, and let's grow together.
