Story
Blue is an energetic dog, he loves treats and walks in the neighborhood. He likes to sniff other animals but is fairly gentle with strange animals, he sometimes gets confused when big dogs play roughly with him (he only been around small dogs). My family loves him with all our hearts but with the new baby and new job hours it’s hard to give home the love and attention he deserves. When adopted he will come with whatever supplies we have for him, except a crate.

Story
Beautiful Nicky he has the happiest disposition a dog could have.  He just LOVES people.  He looks to the person walking him for guidance and reassurance.  He loves to go for a fun walk then come home and snuggle up with his human and get belly rubs.  He is SUPER smart and knows sit, wait, heel, and let's go.  He learns quickly and wants to please. He will quickly bond with his special human(s) and be easy to train.  Nicky is a mixed breed, probably with some Shepherd.  He isn't too large, a nice medium size.  He likes dogs but needs to be introduced properly to other dogs.  He is currently fostered and enjoys playing with his doggie sibling.  While he enjoys having a having a doggie friend we think he would also be fine as an only dog as long as he continues to get proper socialization.  He does have alot of energy so we think he would do best with a fenced yard.  He would be a great dog to take hiking or to play fetch in the back yard.  He LOVES to play with toys and will entertain himself pretty independently.  At his foster's he does very well in the crate at night and is housetrained.  Nicky had a hard early life - roaming the streets in South Carolina.  Happily he was found and taken to the shelter where he received great care.  During his wanderings he seems to have suffered an injury to his front leg, which luckily does not cause him pain.  Despite this tough beginning he still has faith that his special human will come along and give him the life he deserves. Nicky would make a great addition to any family.  Do you have room in your life for a sweet furry companion who just wants to be loved? I`m in a FOSTER HOME! If you want to meet me, email my foster parent at gbrega@gwu.edu for more info and to set-up a meet-and-greet! Check out Maria`s video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYGAU3GeCuEIntroducing Maria, a name that perfectly embodies elegance, sweetness, and an abundance of love. This incredible girl has faced her share of challenges but has emerged with a spirit that shines brightly. When she arrived as a stray, she was weak and emaciated, yet her tail wagged with determination, proving that her heart was as big as ever.Today, Maria is thriving and ready to embrace the beautiful life she truly deserves. As a senior, she brings a wonderfully calm presence to any home, yet she still enjoys gentle strolls and, most importantly, soaking up all the love and attention she can get. Her gratitude is evident in every wag and cuddle! She gets along great with other dogs and with kids. She hasn`t met any cats.Maria does require prescription dog food, but she`s an enthusiastic eater and has no trouble with mealtime. Her foster parent can’t speak highly enough of her: “Maria is the sweetest, most affectionate dog I’ve ever met. Despite her past, she is polite, loves meeting new people, and is always ready for pets! She’s doing well with her alone time and is making great progress on pad training.”If you`re looking for a loving companion who will fill your home with warmth and joy, Maria is the one for you. She’s ready to shower you with affection and be the loyal friend you’ve been waiting for. Come meet Maria and discover just how special she truly is!

Story
I`m in a foster home! T adopt me, email jessie.a.cohen@gmail.comBouncy, smiley Rolo is a happy-go-lucky dog who steals hearts everywhere he goes! He`s bright, alert, and ready for fun. He loves to play fetch and tug of war, chase his toys around, and go on walks where he can sniff every surface (please be patient with him!) and say hi to every dog and person he meets. He has done great in an apartment, but he has a need for speed and would be much happier in a space with a yard or fenced outdoor area where he can RUN! He has a lot of energy and loves to play but is also a snuggle bug who loves to cuddle up on the couch or bed with his people and desperately wants to be a lap dog. This sweet boy just wants to love and be loved! He does well with most other dogs, is very gentle and sweet with young children, and does well with his commands at home and on walks. His foster parent says she he is a great dog who she has loved having around and will be sad to part with, but hopes he finds an amazing forever home! Reach out to his foster parent and meet your new favorite, furry friend!

Sadly, she was turned in as a stray, even though she appears to have lived in a home before. She is very well mannered and her intelligence is impressive. She is smart, eager to learn and to please, and even knows some commands. Her social nature makes her a friend to all,  human and canine alike. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life.
