Hugh was rescued from a kill shelter in CA. He is a big, happy goofball of over 100 lbs. He is very puppyish and loves to play. Hugh has been around kids and other dogs, and does fine. He seems to ignore the cats so we believe he will be OK with them. Hugh is mostly housebroken and is crate trained, and is learning to walk nicely on a leash. This guy would like an active home, but does know how to chill - he has done some training in a home environment so is well on his way to knowing his house manners. Hugh will make a great companion - he is a really fun boy! EXCELLENT DOG ALERT! The lovely Heidy has arrived in Maine, and is looking for her perfect home! We rescued Heidy from the Moreno Valley Shelter in CA a couple of months ago. She went to the shelter because her elderly owners passed away. Heidy is only 3 yrs old and she is a big girl of 80 lbs. Unfortunately, her owners never gave Heidy a lick of any training, manners etc. Luckily a trainer out in CA had a spot for her while we waited for transport, so Heidy has learned her manners, and is now good on leash, and knows her commands! She was also well socialized, taken out in public etc. She has learned a LOT, and knows down, sit, stay, and shake. She is also crate trained! She is a smart girl! The trainer says Heidi has an excellent disposition, and is good with both male and female dogs. She is big and can be rambunctious, so she will be looking for an active home that will walk and hike with her! Our poor girl Salem is still waiting for a home after 8 long years. Though she can be shy at first, she longs to be someone’s loyal guardian, hiking partner, and best friend. Despite her severe hip dysplasia, she’s very active and LOVES to run. She’s so playful and full of life. Her inner puppy comes out when she gets to play with toys! Salem also loves cooler weather, though she can deal with summer heat by playing in the water. She’s great with other dogs, and loves to play with them! She’s amazing on and off leash. Salem is our special girl and we’d love to see her in a home where she can live comfortably and happily for her forever.
