Story
Our poor girl Salem is still waiting for a home after 8 long years. Though she can be shy at first, she longs to be someone’s loyal guardian, hiking partner, and best friend. Despite her severe hip dysplasia, she’s very active and LOVES to run. She’s so playful and full of life. Her inner puppy comes out when she gets to play with toys! Salem also loves cooler weather, though she can deal with summer heat by playing in the water. She’s great with other dogs, and loves to play with them! She’s amazing on and off leash. Salem is our special girl and we’d love to see her in a home where she can live comfortably and happily for her forever.

Story
Black Dog and Mystery need a home where their special bond will be accepted with open arms! They are a bonded pair that must stay together! Mystery, as her name implies, baffles us with her odd ways and behaviors. Though she loves our company and spending quality time with us, she doesn’t like physical affection and is terrified in new situations. Black Dog is her rock. They spend every moment together. Black Dog is a lazy guy, though he loves leisurely walks and exploring. Mystery is a bit more active and playful— she LOVES playing fetch! Black Dog does need a healthier diet and exercise balance that is hard to require in a shelter. We are trying though! Though Mystery is odd, she’s such a great dog and will make you laugh! These two have a lot of love to give and are waiting for their home. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Black Dog and Mystery, please email wynnefoa@gmail.com We'd prefer them to be the only dogs in the home just because they share such a strong bond!

Story
4 Females and 4 Males make up this beautiful litter of German Shepherd and Lab mix puppies. Born on June 25th, these babies didn’t ask to come into the world. They have been denied by every rescue in the south Texas area, to no fault of their own. We knew we couldn’t turn our back on them. Pip, Cleopatra, Zara, Nova, Jasper, Archie, Dodger and Bertie are some of the most calm, gentle, and such sweet, sweet babies you’ll meet. They do not have a mean bone in their body. As of 9/22 they weigh between 18-23 lbs – their dad is a pure-bred German Shepherd, and the mom is a petite (35 lbish) lab mix. We believe these pups will be around 60-65 lbs once full grown. These 8 pups LOVE to play. They love their toys, especially the tug-o-war ones! When they’re super happy, they do zoomies around the yard in pure excitement and happiness. They have been exposed to cats, and they have no issues with them. If anything, the cats bother the puppies hah. They have also met other dogs and love every doggy they meet. These 8 pups have been around elderly people since they were born, the owner of the parents is in his 70s, so they have grown up knowing not to jump, to be gentle and kind. They are VERY laid back. They are all quite submissive, and just go with the flow. They’re very curious and VERY smart. They learn quickly and are very eager to please their humans. They would thrive in almost every type of environment as they’re such good puppies. Very food motivated – they love their breakfast, lunch and dinner and come running when the bucket shakes with food. They’re obsessed with treats, and not picky at all. They’re happy with whatever you have to give them. The females are a little bit more calm than the males, but they all wag their tails when being held and we know with one on one time, they will come out of their shell and be the beautiful, glowing, sweet, SUPER kiss-giving puppies they really are. You can apply to adopt one of these beauties at www.pawsitive-impact-animal-rescue.org

Story
Rex is one of those happy go lucky, loveable German Shepherds that is a rare offering in the rescue world.  A two year old, 75 pound young dog that is a victim of divorce.  Like children, he is having to adjust to a new lifestyle and he must be rehomed due to his dad moving in with parents who are already at their limit for dogs. Everyone is heartbroken. Rex loves everyone and is good with cats, other dogs and adores meeting new people. He is housebroken, crate trained and not a nervous nelly like some Shepherds can be.  He is still growing and can stand to add a few more muscular pounds as he becomes a more mature adult dog.  Broken hearted is what his owner will be when he goes  but Critter Cavalry Rescue has promised to find the perfect Shepherd savvy home for him with a fenced yard, and someone with the time and stability to give this boy all he deserves in life.  Rex is an eager and easy student to train to be a family’s “everything” dog.  Please know this breed before asking to adopt.  They are dogs that cannot be ignored and left alone for 10 hours a day.  They love challenges that are both mental and physical.  Rex is a love of a dog, with no aggressive tendencies at all but he needs to know boundaries and you MUST BE A LEADER to him.  He will pace at first in a new environment because that is what GSD breeds do.  Change is tough on their intelligent heart and soul.  He is a true treasure for his breed.  If interested, please contact us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 10, 2025, 1:49 pm

Story
Meet Forrest, We have seen so much growth in Forrest since he has been here. He used to enjoy bowling, with us being the bowling pins! Now instead of smacking down pins, we can enjoy the trails together, with the sunlight making our shadows long.Sometimes we stop for some butt pats, ear rubs and loving looks. Forrest is a special boy, with a lot of potential for the right handler. He has loyalty to give in spades, soulful eyes and Jolly Ball habit. Forrest is looking for a home where his main handler is physically and mentally strong. Forrest has only been used to having rules and boundaries for a short time and he has been very successful with them. He and his new family will be happiest if those continue.Forrest`s ideal home will be an adult-only one where he can shine without having to worry about any other animals interfering with his toys and food; he doesn`t like to share.Stop by and meet Forrest with any other adults that live in your home. German Shepherd experience is a plus and we would love to introduce him to you!
