Story
Charlie came to Angel Paws in September of 2022 as a stray pup dumped in our parking lot along with his sister Chancie. He currently weighs in the 30 pound range. Charlie is a fun loving fella who gets along well with other dogs in his size range. His house-training status is currently unknown as he is in a kennel environment here and not in a home setting. Story
Misty is large and in charge. At approximately 2.5 -3yrs of age she is about 74lbs, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, housetrained and on Proheart injection for HW prevention. She is a special lady that will require a steady hand and structure. She needs an experienced owner who won't mind continuing her training to help her overcome the effects of the lack of socialization in her previous environment and her naturally introverted personality to keep her focused and feeling secure. She will need a quiet place where there aren't a lot of visitors coming in and out, no young children and she will need to be the only pet. She does love car rides and we are working on going places, staring with quiet parks without patrons but will be working up to more heavily trafficked places. She is insecure but very intelligent, willing to please and very protective. She is strong but not overly stubborn and intimidating physically but very loving once she trusts you. She is very selective with whom she trusts so she will need that special bond with someone but I am confident there is someone out there who will have that with her and they will have the most loving, loyal companion out there.November 4, 2024, 11:32 am

Story
Meet Sammie, a delightful 6-10-month-old German Shepherd mix who’s growing faster than a weed on a sunny day! This sharp, sweet girl is soaking up the world around her and loving every minute. Her closest buddy is an 8-year-old Spitz, though Sammie’s the life of any canine gathering and welcomes new dog friends with open paws. She’s a bit puzzled by cats but respects them enough to let them call the shots in her presence.Sammie’s hobbies include soaking up the sun and a spirited game of hide-and-seek with her foster mom. And here’s a tip: keep your slippers securely stashed—this slipper swiper has quite the collection going! As clever as they come, she’s learning to signal when she needs a break and is already picking up commands like “sit,” “lay,” and “drop it.”Sammie has not yet met kids but has had some memorable encounters with chickens and goats, which only add to her charm. She’s also a star when it comes to meeting new humans—whether in the park or at the store, she’s polite and curious. This girl is ready to find a forever family who can match her wit, love, and playful energy!November 8, 2024, 1:30 am

Story
Everyone meet Jose! Jose is a 3 year old male German Shepherd Mix. Jose has been in foster care for a while and is doing wonderfully and is ready for his forever home. Although it takes a little bit of time for him to warm up to his person, once he does he loves giving kisses and getting all the pets!Jose gets along well with other pups, but often likes to be the leader! Jose is a very good boy and has been started on basic commands such as sit, down, and heeling. He is pretty calm for his breed and enjoys relaxing and taking naps but also has a playful side to him. Jose listens very well, is trainable with good toy drive, and is always willing to work for food! He is also potty trained!Jose is currently in foster care outside of the shelter. Story
Meet Maia Gigi! Some call her just Maia, and others, just Gigi. Either way, she knows them all, and is hoping you’ll take her home! Maia is a young dog with a very active personality. Her favorite activities include running, running, and more running. She enjoys fetch, though she’s not the best at returning the ball. She enjoys chasing squirrels, frogs, and other outdoor critters. She also chases, and sometimes eats, bugs. Her prey drive can be intense, so small dogs, cats, and pocket pets are not recommended. She loves playing with toys, and her favorite thing to do is remove all of the stuffing. Sometimes she does try to eat it, but everyone has their flaws. She enjoys daily enrichment activities, such as puzzles and Kong toys. She is incredibly smart, and will need someone who is dedicated to keeping up her training. She can be mouthy, so she may not do well with young children.Maia would do best in a very active environment, where she can get the daily mental and physical stimuli that she requires.Although she enjoys time staying busy and being outside, at the end of the day you can often find her hogging the entire couch. Her foster mom says “she gets very attached to her person, and is a very loyal, good dog.”Maia Gigi is currently in foster care outside of the shelter.
