Story
BJ & Daisy’s story is one of love, loss, and hope that hasn’t quite found its ending yet. This bonded pair first came to us on 3/20/25 after their beloved owner passed away. Their whole world changed overnight—but they still had each other. Just a week later, on 3/27/25, it seemed like their second chance had arrived when they were adopted together. Sadly, they’ve found themselves back at the shelter again, through no fault of their own, simply because life got too busy for the people who took them in.Now they wait… together, just like always.BJ, the big gentle soul, is 8 years old and weighs 104 pounds—but don’t let his size fool you. He is as soft-hearted as they come. His previous home described him as loyal, kind, goofy, and truly the sweetest boy. He loves being outside with his people, walks beautifully on a leash, and is wonderful with kids. He’s even great with cats, chickens, and ducks. Storms make him nervous, and when they roll in, he’ll quietly find a small space to curl up in, just wanting to feel safe.Daisy, his tiny companion at just 18 pounds and 11 years old, is pure sunshine in dog form. She “loves love,” and it shows in everything she does. She’s gentle, comforting, and endlessly sweet. She gets along with everyone—kids, cats, chickens, ducks—and has a funny, playful personality that keeps people smiling. She enjoys exploring the yard, soaking up the sunshine, and then curling up close with her people.Together, they are an unlikely pair—104 pounds and 18 pounds—but perfectly matched in heart. They’ve lost their home once, thought they found it again, and now find themselves waiting for someone who truly has the time and commitment they deserve. They don’t ask for much. Just a home where they can stay together, feel safe again, and spend their golden years surrounded by love.Because after everything they’ve been through… they deserve a forever that lasts.
