Story
The warrior princess Xena is a beautiful, 5 year old Shepard mix. She is friendly with people and male dogs that are larger in size. (Unsure about female dogs) She knows basic commands and is very low energy. She likes to hangout where the family is and cuddling is her favorite! Shes great with kids and has been around kids of all ages. She is fearful of SOME men due to her abuse history and so introductions to adult men should be done slowly. Xena would do best in a home as an only pet but could be homed with a larger male dog. No cats for Xena. She is housebroken and crate trained. Adoption fee includes all vaccines up to date, spay/neuter and microchip.

Story
Ritz knows the name Scout. He is a 6.5 years old German Shepherd mix (possibly with border collie as he is smart and focused). He is medium large sized and weighs about 50-60 pounds. He is perfectly house trained and he is crated trained to go in happily for a treat. He knows many commands like sit, down, paw (BOTH feet), spin, and roll over.  Scout needs a home where he gets to be the only dog living there but will be sure to fill your days with tricks, antics, and LOVE if you adopt him. He does fine encountering dogs on walks (even if they are losing their minds barking at him he stays cool as a cucumber), just prefers not to live with them and have to share the attention. He would do best with older kids who can respect his signals and who aren't as noisy as young kids can be. He has told my elementary aged kids they were being too loud and tried to herd them out of the room with barking and body pressure more than once now while he was trying to nap and they woke him.January 18, 2025, 5:49 pm

Story
Like her namesake, Holly Golightly is a stunning beauty!! She has silky soft black fur with the legs of a Rottweiler and her eyes are simply gorgeous! The shelter that Holly came from estimated her to be 5 months old but after talking to the vet, we believe she is closer to 7/8 months old. Either way, she is such a good girl! She has done extremely well with potty training and keeping her crate clean - even on the days that foster mom has to go into the office for 8 hours. Holly has been great with all of the dogs in the home. We have both males and females ranging in 10-80 pounds. She wants to play with everyone and be their best friend! With that said, she may have just a bit too much puppy energy for the older pups. And while she is good with the resident cat, she wants to play with him too. So, a dog savvy cat would be best. I would classify her as medium to high energy when it comes to playtime but she is also very good about settling down and curling up with you for a nap or bedtime. She is working on crate training - meaning she only goes into the crate when it’s feeding time or a treat is involved. Other times, she has to be nudged into the crate as she still has some light puppy chewing tendencies. She is also working on leash walking and doing well. Now would be the perfect time to set her up for success and enroll her in basic obedience training. She is such a sweet and loving girl that she would make a great addition to any family!! Story
COURTESY POST * This animal is not physically in LTR care, they continue to live with the owner. * The adoption/application process is the same for these dogs as any other dog in our rescue. * LTR has not evaluated this pet. * All personality information is provided by the owner and is assumed to be honest and accurate. * The adoption fee/donation for helping rehome the pet is the same as LTR establishes fees. Enzo is a very sweet and loyal dog. He wants to be protective of his family which can be a challenge with young children he doesn't know. He has never bitten a human. Enzo loves to play fetch with balls, swim and walk in the woods. He would make a great companion for someone who is familiar with dogs and is in a quiet adult only household. We are making the difficult decision to rehome our sweet dog Enzo. Enzo is an all-white, 100lb, 2-year-old German Shepherd/Lab mix. His DNA results show he is 50% German Shepherd, 25% lab and 25% border collie. We adopted Enzo from a rescue at a farm in Mississippi when he was four months old. He is an incredibly loyal dog who likes to work. He has been in pack dog training since we adopted him and is always around dogs. Since Enzo was a puppy, we have been working with two different trainers, including behavioral training. He is very smart and good at his commands. Still, Enzo is very protective of his humans, which can be problematic in a neighborhood environment where many unknown kids and other animals are coming and going. Enzo loves running, digging, chasing, chewing on balls, and swimming. Enzo is in his element while in the woods and following new scents. His perfect home is one where he has ample outdoor space to run and explore in. Enzo is up to date with his vaccinations and neutered.
