Story
It`s a-me, Mario! Mario is a quirky 9 year old goofball that is sure to steal your heart (instead of coins). This sweet boy sadly came to our shelter as a stray in March 2019. At his intake exam, we discovered that he was heartworm positive and would require treatment. Mario has been undergoing the `slow kill` method of treatment while learning a lot in our FIDO prison program. He hopes to be heartworm free very soon. Mario is a sweet boy who can be a little shy when meeting new people. He would prefer a calm, quiet home without small children. He gets along well with cats and can be picky about his canine friends (will require a meet and greet). Mario loves to run and play, so a fenced yard is required in order to adopt him.Mario is a member of our FIDO prison program. FIDO dogs are obedience trained and socialized by the prison inmates. The $250 adoption fee covers spay/neuter, vaccinations, de-worming, microchip, and heart worm test (and current with monthly preventative). They are house trained, crate trained, and know their 5 basic commands. If interested in meeting a FIDO dog, please fill out an application online at: inapl.org/adoption-application. Once it`s processed, a member of our team will be contact with you.MarioShepherd mixMaleDOB: 3/29/2014Weight: 45 lbs.Heartworm Positive

Story
Aren`t I just the prettiest German Shepherd you`ve ever seen? My last owners surrendered me after I lived and loved them for my whole life. So, at 4 years old, I`m on the hunt for a new family who will treat me like the princess I am. I`ve lived with kiddos and with other big dogs so I`m pretty compatible with anyone. Except for cats, I am NOT a cat fan. Hopefully you aren`t either! Now, let`s talk more about my amazing qualities! I love going on walks, I`m great at fetch, and since I`m a German Shepherd I`m super smart which means I LOVE to train. But, I am going to need your help with some things. Like all the other girlies, I have some tummy issues. This means that I will need lifelong management with medication and special food (but not too special, you can still get my favorite blend at your local pet store or Chewy). Now that I`ve laid it all out there, do you think you could give me a chance? My foster mom think`s I`m the best, but don`t take her word for it- find out for yourself!

Saffron`s Compatibility:Dogs - Meet & GreetCats - Looking for a feline-free homeKids - Yes, 14+Say hello to Saffron, a stunning 3-year-old German Shepherd with a sharp mind, a big heart, and a love for playtime! Weighing in at a sleek 70 pounds, Saffron arrived as a stray, so while we don’t know much about her past, she’s ready to start her future with the right family. When Saffron first came to us, she needed some time to adjust and feel safe. Now that she’s had a chance to decompress, she’s built strong bonds with her kennel team friends and looks forward to their visits. She LOVES tennis balls and will happily play for as long as you’re willing to toss them her way. She’s even mastered the art of trading toys—her smarts and willingness to learn make her a true standout.Saffron is searching for an experienced adopter who can appreciate her working-dog nature and help her continue to grow. Because she can be possessive of her favorite toys, we recommend a home with children aged 14 and up. And while she’s wonderful in many ways, Saffron has decided that cats aren’t her thing, so she’ll need a feline-free household. If you’re looking for a loyal and intelligent companion who’s ready to take on the world with you, Saffron might just be your perfect match. Come meet her today and see why this incredible girl is worth every ounce of effort!-----Adoption Fees & Benefits:Under 1 year: $2001-4 years: $1005-9 years: $5510+ years: $35Fees include: Heartworm test (age appropriate), vaccinations, flea/tick preventative, complimentary bag of food, wellness exam, and rabies vaccine.Important Notice: A `meet and greet` with any existing dogs in your home is required, supervised by our team in our play areas.
