Story
I got Maeve when she was 8 weeks old from a farm in North Carolina. She is two and a half years old now and I'm looking to rehome her with a family that has lots of space for her to run around and play in. I live in an apartment right now with two cats and she does not get along well with them. She is not aggressive towards them, but she likes to chase them around and this has been a chronic issue with her. I want her to have space to roam and play when she wants to and having other dogs for her to play with would be even better. I am only willing to give her to someone that will love her and provide her with the care and freedom she needs. She is very sweet with people and listens well to all of the commands I've taught her. She is up to date on all of her vaccines, flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

Story
Sue has not had an easy life. She is scared and shy at first and needs a patient adopter to make her feel safe. While she does get along to some degree with other dogs, she does have some resource guarding with food so her best fit would be a home where she is an only dog. She can peacefully co-exist with other dogs in an environment where there are no toys and dogs are fed separately and the dishes are picked up after feeding. Because of her shy nature and a family`s need to read her body language, Sue needs a home with children 10+. Sue appears to be potty trained. Most likely no cats unless an adopter is prepared for extremely slow intros.Adoption Fee: $ 75Estimated Date of Birth: UnknownIntake Reason: transfer from out-of-state agencyAnimal will be spayed and up to date on vaccines, and microchipped prior to adoption. If their kennel card on display at TAPS shelter facility is marked as unaltered, the animal will be altered prior to being released for adoption. Animal stage may change from time to time based on surgery and medical status. TAPS strives to keep kennel cards as up to date as possible with current information but from time to time, information may change and a new kennel card may be pending. Full and current vaccination schedule and medical records along with any behavioral disclosures will be provided at time of adoption.

Story
Luna is a white German Shepherd who was picked up as a stray by Peoria County Animal Protection Services with a yeast infection on her skin and in her ears. She was already microchipped when picked up and her owner was contacted. The owner stated that Luna had lived with kids, cats, and dogs but that she no longer wanted her. Since then, she has come to SAMS where her ear and skin infection has cleared up and her fur is growing back slowly but surely. You can apply for Luna through our website at samsrescue.org or call the shelter at 309-565-4821!

A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Story
Meet King, a loving, loyal 2 year old German Shepherd weighing in at a healthy 87 pounds. King is a house-trained and crate-saavy pup who thrives on routine and loves spending time with his foster mama. He enjoys the great outdoors, especially the yard where he can stretch his legs and bask in the sunshine. King loves going on walks, giving him the chance to explore new scents and sights. He walks relatively well on leash but he does have high prey drive so it’s best to keep an eye out for bunnies and squirrels. With a foster mom who’s also a trainer, King enjoys regular training sessions, learning new commands, and showing off his smarts. Toys, bones, and playing fetch are among King’s favorite activities. He especially loves chasing balls and playing in the snow! King does have a few quirks that will require a patient adopter committed to on-going training. King is a sweetheart once he gets to know you but he is initially fearful of new people and dogs. He will choose to avoid rather than confront people he does not know. With time and patience he warms up to be a loving and playful companion. Kids age 12 and up are recommended. King can be fear reactive towards new dogs, especially before he has time to build a relationship with you. Once you have a strong relationship his reactivity begins to decrease and he can walk past other dogs across the street or in their yards with no problem. King does do well with other dogs once he gets to know them but he needs a slow introduction. King is also reactive towards the television. His foster mama is working on it with him but he would likely do best in a home with limited television use, or someone who will crate him while watching tv. King has lived with cats but enjoys chasing them, so a cat-free home might be best unless carefully managed. King’s foster mama, a professional trainer, highlights that he knows commands like sit, place, come, and heel. He previously completed a two week board and train and will come with follow up lessons if desired by his adopters. Expect a few weeks to a month for King to fully adjust to his new home and family. King is adaptable in terms of exercise. He enjoys walks and playtime but won’t be overly demanding if you miss a walk here and there. He’s happy with a few walks a week and loves engaging in play and training sessions. King is a sweet, smart boy looking for a patient and loving forever home where he can continue to blossom. With his foster mom’s ongoing support and your love, King will be a loyal, affectionate companion. If you think your home might be the perfect match for King, he’s ready to meet you and show you just how special he is. His minimum adoption fee is $295 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. Wish Bone Canine Rescue  1303 Morrissey Drive Bloomington, IL 61701 www.wishbonecaninerescue.org           Since its our desire that you have a pet you can enjoy a lifetime of love with you, we take special measures to ensure that the pet is the best match for you and your family.  We require that you complete our online www.wishbonecaninerescue.org (Please give us 24 hours to verify your information).
