Story
Meet Carter: Your New Adventure Buddy! Carter is the perfect companion for anyone seeking an active, fun-loving dog. This social butterfly thrives on making new friends-both human and canine-and is always ready for the next adventure! Whether it's a car ride to a scenic hiking spot, splashing in the river, or a game of fetch in the yard, Carter is up for it all. He's becoming quite the expert at socializing with other dogs, especially those his size or larger who are game for a good chase or wrestling match. While he's still refining his communication skills, he's eager to please and is ready to learn with his forever family. Carter dreams of a home with a spacious backyard where he can run, play, and soak up the day. He's house-trained, knows his basic cues, and is just waiting for someone to open their car door and take him on a new journey. Ready for a hiking buddy who's loyal, fun, and full of love? Carter's your guy! Carter's Favorite Things: Chews: I enjoy crunching on my favorite chews in my safe spaces. Outside Time: I love being outside and taking in my environment. Hikes: I enjoy doing a few miles on the trails with my favorite volunteers. Cues That Carter Knows: Sit Down Let's Go! Disclaimer: This animal is not in Anderson custody. and is a courtesy post to help a member of the community rehome directly without shelter intervention. Any adoption inquiries should be directed to the owner at valeriacarrera10@gmail.com. Anderson Humane makes no guarantees regarding medical or behavioral status of this animal, and the current owner is solely responsible for disclosing any challenges or concerns. King is a BIG baby. He loves all the attention and loves to be around people. He is very needy for love and loves to follow you everywhere. He is very smart and knows all the basic commands and even knows how to search if given a smell. He grew around children and a big family. He is very jumpy and does not realize how big he is. He does well with kids. He does not do well with other dogs. He became reactive when he was attacked by another dog. It has been an issue with my other dog and my living situation. He needs someone who can help him overcome those obstacles. He does well home alone and is house trained. He did not know what the cage was until he became reactive with dogs and couldn't be around my other dog. He does well in the crate as well. The reactivity is not bad, he just does not like when dogs approach his way. He does like little dogs and grew up with another German Shepard and a Yorkie. He still continues to live with them. Overall is a good house dog and cuddle buddy. I just want to find a good home for him.

Story
When not applying to be an addition reindeer on Santa Paw’s sleigh, Kiwi is usually found playing with toys, gobbling up all the treats, and constantly looking for attention and love from her humans! Kiwi is an absolute darling girl! During her time in foster care this girl was a fast favorite among our Illinois volunteer team (must be those stunning eyes!) and always soaked up the attention at our events. She sadly is being returned to our rescue after what she thought was her forever. This girl is just a big puppy and has a lot of energy. She would really love an active family who can keep up with her or a big fenced in yard she can run all those zoomies out in! After play time, she loves to snuggle, lay on comfy furniture ,and gobble up all the treats she can find! This spunky girl is crate and potty trained! Kiwi LOVES dogs, cats, and people of all ages. She is so gentle with kids and has the sweetest personality. She loves to be outside! Ready to open your heart and home to Miss Kiwi?! Fill out an application on our website https://www.tailsoftheforgottenpaws.org/ or find us on FB! Kiwi is currently being fostered in the Algonquin, IL area and would love to meet you at a private meet and greet when you have an approved application!

Born 5/09/23 to pure breed German Shepherd folks but it means nothing. I still landed up at Animal Control as UNWANTED. The folks here don't think that I had much socialization because I am very nervous but they are working hard at getting me all set for a loving home. Story
Female - 2 years - 50 lbs - Microchipped - Spayed - DEHello! My name is Vaquita and I am a 2-year-old, 50 lb spayed female. I am already housetrained and crate-trained. I currently need to be crated when I am left home alone. I do well with men, women, and older children with proper introductions. I actively seek affection and sometimes even invite myself into people’s laps for snuggles and kisses! I will welcome visitors to our home after some alert barks. I have not done well with other animals in my foster home so I will need to be the only pet. I love toys, especially ropes and balls, and my foster family has been working to teach me appropriate tug games so we can have fun together! I have fantastic agility and can easily clear a fence so I either need a yard with a tall fence or no fence where all outside activity is on leash. I ride well in the car and know some basic commands: sit, come, roll over. My leash skills are a work in progress as I am learning not to pull and that I don’t need to react whenever we see people or animals on our walks. I am rather high energy and would thrive with someone dedicated to providing plenty of mental and physical stimulation. I am a diamond in the rough ready to find my perfect adoptive family—could you be my people? Follow me on Facebook:  #EchoDogVaquita For more information, please contact adoptions@echodogs.org.   Echo Dogs fosters dogs in many states. Male - 2 years - 75 lbs - Microchipped - Neutered - LAHello there: My name is Jonas and I am a 2-year-old, 75 lb neutered male. I am already housetrained and crate-trained. I am currently crated when left home alone so I don’t know how I’d do if left uncrated. I am a sweetheart who loves everyone I meet, including men, women, and young children. I actively seek affection and enjoy spending time with people. I do well with other dogs of all kinds and love to play! I also love playing with toys (especially my rubber ball and tug toys!) and will even play a game of fetch with you! I cannot go to a home with cats. I have been working to become a perfect adventure partner and am great in the car! I have been doing well with my leash skills and now only pull slightly. I have learned sit and would love a family willing to continue my training and teach me some new commands! I am a friendly, playful, sweet boy who would love to find my perfect adoptive family. Story
Male - 5 years - 40 lbs - Microchipped - Neutered - NYHi, I’m Ricardo. I’m a 5-year-old, 40 lb neutered male. I am already housetrained and crate-trained. I use my crate as a safe space mostly; I do not need to be shut in my crate when I am left home alone. I have coexisted well with adults, with a preference for women, though I am very shy and don’t seek much interaction. I will accept calm affection from my foster mom. Most of the time I am happy to people watch from afar. I will need someone willing to be patient as I come around to them and my surroundings in my new home; I had had no or minimal human contact prior to coming to Echo Dogs so this human world is all new to me and I have been trying hard to learn! I love having the company of other dogs and will require at least one confident canine companion to help guide me. I am wonderful about adjusting my play style to match that of the dog I am playing with and all around have good canine social skills. I am also gentle around cats and wouldn’t mind having feline siblings. I have been learning about these things called toys and they’re pretty fun! I especially like the plushy toys and benebones. I have been working hard on leash skills and can now join on quiet outings! I may get nervous at times and need gentle encouragement. I am still pretty uncomfortable with car rides so that is also a work in progress. I have learned to reliably come to my foster mom when she calls me. I currently take clomicalm to help me manage my anxiety. I am a gentle-natured boy who is ready to find a patient human ready to help me continue navigating this human world—could you be my human(s)? Story
Meet Blossom: Your New Best Bud Ready to Bloom! Say hello to Blossom, the medium-sized brindle beauty who's ready to grow and flourish in her forever home! Just like a flower in full bloom, Blossom is vibrant, full of life, and eager to soak up all the love and attention she can get. Blossom is a social butterfly who absolutely loves playing with other dogs. She's also super food motivated, making her a breeze to train-just present a treat, and watch her skills blossom! Whether it's a game of fetch or a tug-of-war, she's always ready for some outdoor fun, and she thrives when she can stretch her legs in a fenced-in backyard. This sweet girl keeps her kennel spotless and loves to be pampered with pets from her friends. While she's still working on her leash manners (sometimes the excitement of the great outdoors gets the best of her), with a little patience and guidance, she's sure to bloom into the perfect walking partner. If you're looking for a loyal companion who's ready to blossom by your side, this lovely lady is ready to put down roots in her new forever home. Are you ready to watch her bloom?
