Millie is energetic and she just turned 3. She is the sweetest thing and loves playing and cuddles. I do have anther GSD that is 9 and unfortunaly they have not been getting along and has been leading to some issues. Millie would do well in a home with no other pets and can give you all the love she has. She has also never been around small children, so I don't have any history of how she would do. Older kids and teenagers she would be a great companion for.

Meet Karl, Karl is a handsome adult male German Shepherd. He is approximately 4 years old. Karl was found as a stray after being dumped in a forest preserve. A kind person found me and took me to animal control. I was rescued by Wagging Hearts and placed in a foster home. I am fully vetted, hips x-rayed, 4dx tested, and doing great. I am a learning a new routine in my foster home and doing well. I have met children 10 and older and did very well. Story

Clover (aka Clo) came into our lives due to a neighbor moving and her needing a home. It was in the thick of winter in the Midwest and she was living outdoors at 9 weeks old. I have since been her primary home for the past 7 months. Clo is up to date on shots, due to be spayed, house broken, crate trained and great with people. Due to my schedule and upcoming changes, my family will be home far less than I would like which means Clo is home alone and in her crate. She would benefit from someone who can put the time in to fully train her, get her in an agility course, and socialize her with other dogs. Although I do try to work with her on greeting other dogs from far away, it is still a work in progress. A mature, confident dog in the household to learn from would be good for her. Or, simply working on socializing. Someone ideal for Clo would be someone who treats her like the princess she is, spoils her rotten, and takes the time to work with her.

She had complications during birth and had to be taken to the vet for an emergency c-section and immediate spay. Luna had 12 puppies and 8 survived. You might think all those kids would wear her out, but no. Luna is always ready to run, play, chew a bone and have fun. When it's time to relax, Luna thinks she is a lap dog. Luna has the most soulful eyes. It's almost like she is talking to you through her eyes. Just don't ask Luna about her baby daddies. She prefers to keep their identities a secret. It's no secret that every human who meets Luna adores her. Meet Marlo! This sweet girl comes across a tad timid when first she is approached, but warms up very quickly to any kind human, even a child. Marlo has a loving nature and strives to please her humans. She is quirky and very cute. Marlo loves to play with toys and even carries the little toy bin around at times. She has the ability to learn so much and be a lovely house pup. Marlo has some stranger danger to work on, but her barks will always alert you to any possible intruder. Marlo was not socialized much with people as a puppy. She was abandoned with her three sisters in the Des Plaines area, and then spent four months in animal control, pretty much growing up in their custody. When Marlo made her way into our program, we saw what great potential she had. Marlo really enjoys being around other dogs. She plays in our pack playgroup often and has many friends. She does, however, do better with medium and large sized dogs. She tends to jump on tiny dogs and therefore is best matched with dogs closer to her size. Marlo isn't too interested in cats, but might be better off in a home without them or with a very confident (dog-savvy) cat. Marlo is currently learning how to walk nicely on a leash, has basic obedience and is also crate-trained. After patiently waiting months to be fully vetted and ready, this sweet girl is overjoyed to finally be available for adoption and can't wait to shower her new family with unconditional love and endless happy tail wags every single day. Please contact them at www.gsrescue1.org for more information since she is not in our rescue.* Approximately 8 months old, Valentina is a Shepherd mix picked up as a stray in Chicago by CACC. She is a peanut at 38lbs! While she definitely should still have formal training, she is relatively easy to walk on leash and has great manners meeting dogs and people passing by. When on a schedule and supervised, she’s doing a good job working towards potty training and crate training, and can go overnight without a potty break. Vale learned “sit” in 5 minutes and will work for food! Little Valentina loves stuffed and chew toys and is very playful - by herself and with other dogs. She is currently being fostered with two adult shepherds (lovely dog manners), cats (relatively neutral) and older children (fun!) Vale is definitely still learning about the world and barks at strangers in the house or if she gets nervous. A little anxious in the car, but realizing little by little it comes with fun adventures, treats and quality time with people. Big time need to chew on things and needs some work with her puppy mouthing as she doesn’t have much bite inhibition, but she’s a sweet soul with a lot of energy and a lot of love to give! These puppies were born on January 25th, 2024. Mom was a black German Shepherd and dad was a Golden Retriever. There are three boys and one girl left in the litter. They were pretty shy when they first came to us, but have been coming out of their shell and we're getting to know all of their personalities.
