Story
Hi, my name is Loxy.  I'm a female shepherd mix, about 5-7 years old and only about 50lbs.  My foster mom is working on getting some more weight on me though.  I'm great with dogs, kids, and cats.  With the proper intro and a little time, I will trust a patient and compassionate male.  My last owner, who was a male, wasn't very kind and was quite abusive. I'm crate trained, house trained, and haven't chewed or been destructive at all.  I love riding in the car and going on walks.  I also love to play and paw things around (because I have clearly been hanging out with a lot of cats).  Don't let my age fool you, I'm quite playful and energetic and really a good girl.  I'm fixed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $400 To adopt Loxy, email us at kakf3133@gmail.comNovember 30, 2024, 10:32 pm

Story
Meet Greta: Hello, I’m Greta! I am a playful and VERY inquisitive 8 year old German Shepherd . I am just over 64 pounds (for now) as my foster mom is taking good care of me to get me back on track. I am expected to be about a healthy 75lbs. I was on the euthanasia list in Texas, because I was there “too long” 45 days to be exact , but got a second chance at life thanks to Safe Haven and my foster family! When I arrived to my foster home, I first met my furry foster sister Maya! She’s the best and I am learning a lot from her. I still don’t know my name but I am getting better at it! I know basic commands such as sit and stay. I am working with my Hooman foster siblings on “shake”, “stay” “lay down”. The best part is all the treats I get I am still learning to go down the stairs but I am making progress every day! I am completely housebroken and crate trained. Most nights I snuggle with my furry foster sister on “my” designated couch space but.. I also find comfort in my crate and will sleep soundly in there if needed. I love my foster family’s and get along and play respectfully with them. Fetch is my favorite! I also do great on a leash and love to take walks. I enjoy snuggle time with my foster mom and love playing With my foster siblings. While I have learned to respect my foster family’s resident cats, I would probably do best in a home without them. I would, however, thrive in a home with another playful pup! I have not met any young kids, so I’m not sure how I would do with them. However I met many of my foster siblings friends and do great!! If you are ready for a loyal and playful companion, I just may be your perfect match! Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. An application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee adoption but does allow us to begin the review process. Please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant (adopter) for any reason.

This social butterfly thrives on making new friends-both human and canine-and is always ready for the next adventure! Whether it's a car ride to a scenic hiking spot, splashing in the river, or a game of fetch in the yard, Carter is up for it all. He's becoming quite the expert at socializing with other dogs, especially those his size or larger who are game for a good chase or wrestling match. While he's still refining his communication skills, he's eager to please and is ready to learn with his forever family. Carter dreams of a home with a spacious backyard where he can run, play, and soak up the day. He's house-trained, knows his basic cues, and is just waiting for someone to open their car door and take him on a new journey. Ready for a hiking buddy who's loyal, fun, and full of love? Carter's your guy! Carter's Favorite Things: Chews: I enjoy crunching on my favorite chews in my safe spaces. Outside Time: I love being outside and taking in my environment. Hikes: I enjoy doing a few miles on the trails with my favorite volunteers. Cues That Carter Knows: Sit Down Let's Go! Disclaimer: This animal is not in Anderson custody. and is a courtesy post to help a member of the community rehome directly without shelter intervention. Any adoption inquiries should be directed to the owner at valeriacarrera10@gmail.com. Anderson Humane makes no guarantees regarding medical or behavioral status of this animal, and the current owner is solely responsible for disclosing any challenges or concerns. King is a BIG baby. He loves all the attention and loves to be around people. He is very needy for love and loves to follow you everywhere. He is very smart and knows all the basic commands and even knows how to search if given a smell. He grew around children and a big family. He is very jumpy and does not realize how big he is. He does well with kids. He does not do well with other dogs. He became reactive when he was attacked by another dog. It has been an issue with my other dog and my living situation. He needs someone who can help him overcome those obstacles. He does well home alone and is house trained. He did not know what the cage was until he became reactive with dogs and couldn't be around my other dog. He does well in the crate as well. The reactivity is not bad, he just does not like when dogs approach his way. He does like little dogs and grew up with another German Shepard and a Yorkie. He still continues to live with them. Overall is a good house dog and cuddle buddy. I just want to find a good home for him.

Story
Meet SandMan, a big hound with a personality as big as his heart and plenty to say! This guy is looking for a family who can meet his enrichment needs, as he thrives in an environment that provides both physical and mental stimulation. SandMan is crate trained, housetrained, and knows his basic cues, making him a well-rounded companion. He’s great with children and cats, and his sweet nature will surely win you over. While SandMan is a loving and playful guy, he would do best in an active home where he can get plenty of exercise and mental challenges to keep him happy. No apartments for this big guy, though – he needs space to roam and stretch his legs! He’s also dog selective, so he’ll require a meet-and-greet prior to going home with other dogs to ensure it’s a good match. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, talkative hound with lots of personality, SandMan might just be the perfect fit for you! Stop in and meet SandMan in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
