Journey is a sweet, very smart, active girl. She is great with other dogs and children and loves to play with tennis balls. We think she would be super happy in a household with other dogs or going someplace where there are other dogs for her to play with. Because of her active personality, cats aren't a good idea for this girl. Did we also happen to mention that she has the best ears? 'Cause she does. Come see this cute girl soon. Journey is two years old and weighs 57 pounds.Journey’s adoption fee has been covered by a generous donor. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting Journey, visit her at the shelter during open hours or complete an adoption application on our website. ** NO YOUNG CHILDREN ** Meet Cashaw, he is a terrific dog. We think he is a shepherd/husky mix maybe and he has one half brown half blue eye. He is about 2 years old and weighs about 60 lbs.  His owners surrendered him because they said they didn't have enough time for him anymore. They had him since he was a puppy. He lived with 3 kids. He is also good with other dogs. He would love a fenced in yard and to go hiking or running.  He is well behaved and is housebroke and crate trained. If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Story
Sherman is a big love at 90 lbs and a rescue favorite! He is housebroken, easy going, loves walks, plays with toys and cuddles. He is an all-around great dog looking for a chill household to enjoy his golden years in. As most GSD he has hip dysplasia in left hip and this has caused some right front leg arthritis but with his supplements and pain meds that doesn't stop him from having a good time. He currently is getting monthly injections for pain which is the cheaper route. He is good with dogs but would prefer to be the one and only as he only has eyes for his people.  Poor Sherman was surrendered by family members when his mom got dementia and fell and hurt herself. He laid by her bed and was protective of her and the family felt it best to rehome him. His crime was loving her too much and being a German Shepherd!  If you can handle being loved that much, apply today! If you are interested in meeting Sherman, complete the Adoption Application on our website at www.NeedyPaws.org and we will contact you. Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Sherman ’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. Story
Meet Seren Sadie a medium sized girl with a beautiful reddish coat. She is dog friendly and would love to have a dog friend in her new home. Sadie has not been cat tested, so not sure how she would do with cats. SHe would do great with older considerate kids.   Sadie has medium energy. She likes being outside, but wants her person to be outside with her. Sadie also enjoys walks, and does walk well with a harness.   House and crate trained. She prefers being crated at night near her people. If you would allow her to sleep with you even better.   Sadie rides quietly in the car. Sadie does have some stranger danger, and is leery around new people at first. She does best when visitors just ignore her and let her come to them on her terms. She does bark at new people and sounds, so may not do well in a apartment setting    Sadie is a really sweet dog but needs someone who will be patient with her and give her time to trust her new family. Once Sadie is comfortable with you, she will be your shadow. She is not much of a snugglier, but does like to be near you. Sadie really likes chicken as a treat, which can be used to build trust. With time and treats Sadie will be the perfect companion!     If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Story
Hi! Yes, I am adorable, right! Oh, and my name is Abby, that kind of important too. I'm flexible though if you wanted to change it. I am confident, outgoing, fun and full of joy, plus resilient! At least that's what they say! I was found on the side of the busy highway at just a few months old with a funny walk. They think I either feel from a care or was thrown. Without a skip I was ready to show love and gratefulness to the sweet family that picked me up. I went to the vet, and they said I have a small fracture that required crate rest for a bit and so I did just that. I full rested and ready for adventure and most of all my forever family! I do great with other dogs and people, haven't met many little people since being off crate rest, but will soon. Also about to start dog daycare soon and I hear great things from my furry foster siblings about it. They woof me all stories about it when they get home. Super excited about that too. Since I was on crate rest, I am learning potty training now, but my foster mom says I will be a pro in no time. Food and I are great friends so food will be a great way to train me. I love celery, yup, a kid that loves veggies! So many fun things about me! If I might be the pup for you or if you want to learn more about me, please complete the adoption application. My breed is best guess, but my foster mom is thinking of getting a DNA test to see who my daddy and mommy are. Would be happy to share with my PAWrents if it works out. I am located in San Antonio, TX, but transport is included with my adoption fee. All out of state adoptions with transports gets a health certificate before leaving and all of us are fully vetted to age, fixed, chipped and have rabies vaccine. If you are interested in me, please completed the adoption application!
