Story
Macy is a stunning young German Shepherd with a heart full of potential and a personality that will melt your heart. Her previous owners, who sadly couldn’t take her back, invested in professional training, and Macy knows her basic commands. She’s intelligent and eager to learn, with a great foundation that needs a little polishing to continue her progress. Macy is incredibly playful and loving but surprisingly calm and laid-back for a typical German Shepherd puppy. She’s great with other dogs, but like many shepherds, she can be cautious with new people at first. Once she feels safe and knows you’re trustworthy, she will shower you with affection and become your loyal, faithful companion. If you have experience with shepherds and can continue her training, please go to www.atlantalabrescue.com and apply. ##2202439##

Story
Emmie is a one-year-old, 42-pound shepherd mix from a shelter we work with a lot because they send good dogs to us. They have really good volunteers who get to know the dogs, and there is a play yard at the shelter, so you can see how the dogs react. As usual, Emmie is a really good, sweet, loving, calm, and clean dog that would make a great companion. If you want to foster or adopt Emmie, please go to www.atlantalabrescue.com and apply. ##2122205##

Story
Hey there! I’m Big Boy, and I recently had an amazing Halloween adventure that I can’t wait to share with you! I even dressed up like a hotdog.First, I went for a lovely walk in the park, soaking up all the autumn vibes. The leaves were crunching under my paws, and I just loved it! Then, I attended the Doggie Con event in Atlanta, where I got to meet so many new friends—both humans and furry pals.I always make sure to do my business outside, so no worries there! When I met new people, I was soft and wiggly, my tail wagging like crazy. Everyone I encountered was just as excited to see me, and I made sure to solicit some pets—who wouldn’t want a cuddle from this gentle giant?I even met a bunch of kids under 12, and let me tell you, they were so much fun! I approached them with my usual soft and wiggly charm, and they loved giving me attention. It was a blast!I did meet a few other dogs too, and we enjoyed playing together. I always keep my leash manners loose and friendly, making new doggy pals is one of my favorite things!I’m a medium to low-energy guy, so one good walk is often just what I need to feel satisfied. But don’t let my calm demeanor fool you—I’m always ready for a little fun!I’m truly a wonderful boy with perfect manners. I get along great with dogs of all sizes and absolutely adore everyone I meet, even the most rambunctious kiddos. I’d make a fantastic addition to any household looking for a loving companion. Can’t wait to find my forever home!

Story
❗Current Location: in a local shelter in South Korea❗ • Rescue Story : Meet Hyonie👋 the sweetest gentlest soul! Hyonie was found in a park in South Korea at four months old in March 2022 and taken to a high-risk shelter alongside her two sisters. Luckily, they were saved right before euthanasia by the rescue team. While one of her sisters lives with a foster family, Hyonie is still in the crowded shelter, awaiting her forever family. • Personality: Affectionate, Submissive, Smart Hyonie may seem a little shy at first, but she is surprisingly a BIG cuddler to people, which means that all she needs is a little bit of time to open up in the beginning. She would thrive on affection as she loves to be petted all the time! She would be a great fit if you are searching for a cuddly pup. She learns things quickly as she is a food-driven smart cookie. You will definitely find training her a part of the joyful journey with her! • Affinity with -Cats: Not tested -Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs. She’s a submissive and gentle type of dog. -Adults/Kids: Good with adults / Unknown for kids • Shedding : 5-6 • Walking Manner : in training and improving! • Housetrained : Hyonie knows how to use pee-pads even though she lives in the shelter. She may go potty indoors (pads) and outdoors both when adopted. • Food Allergies : No. • Bathing/Brushing : Good • Bark or Howl : Barks a little bit toward strangers • Likes & Dislikes : She likes going for walks, playing with toys, and chewing stuff. / She doesn’t like being kept in confined spaces. • Health : She has had two of her toes removed due to blocked circulation of blood caused by blankets tangled around her toes. She's been fully recovered and now fine walking and jumping!

Hi, I’m Bob. I am very excited to meet you, and I just know we are going to be best friends. My hobbies include sleeping (a lot!), exploring the world (there’s so much to see!), and getting into a little trouble (I’m a puppy after all!). I don’t have much life experience yet, but I’m willing to learn if you have the time to teach me. If you have other pets in your home already, I would love to meet them! Story
Otto was born late January of 2024. He spent several months in the shelter before my elderly father feel in love with him. Otto is the sweetest dog. He wants to cuddle and hug everyone. He was well loved by my parents, but he did not receive much training until I took him in early September when my Mom's health took a turn for the worse. Otto is now house broken. He does not sleep in his crate at night. Otto enjoys Doggie Daycare. My older dog, however, is a one person dog that does not play with other dogs. She is small and is not responding well to Ottos playful energy. Otto wants to be with the family and responds wonderfully to praise. He will walk on a leash and come when called.

Story
Loves kids, good with cats and dogsMisha is not just a beauty, she is also very sweet, submissive, playful, smart, and high-energy. She loves everyone – adults, kids, dogs and cats - and would do best in a home with another dog or some active kids/adults that will keep her engaged. Misha is very playful and can be a vocal communicator, but she is also very respectful of other animals’ boundaries and is nonreactive when checked – she was even attacked by a cat once that did not take kindly to her barking, and Misha’s response was to run away! Misha was found tied to RR tracks in Atlanta in August 2023, emaciated and abandoned. She was taken in by a loving family that included a cat and a toddler, but they were never able to get Misha to a healthy weight. Eventually, she was diagnosed with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency, which means that her body does not produce an enzyme that she needs to properly digest and metabolize her food.. This is not uncommon in shepherds but it can be very expensive to treat, and unfortunately Misha’s original rescuer could not afford her care so she came to Doggie Harmony in September 2024. After trying out several pancreatic enzyme options (both in her former home and after coming to us), we discovered that the only treatment that seems to work for Misha is Viokase-V, a powdered supplement that must be added to each of her meals. In just the first month of being on this treatment, Misha has gained 12 lbs, but she still has more to gain before she reaches her ideal weight. PLEASE BE ADVISED that the monthly cost for Viokase-V is ~$600, so any potential adopter must be ready to commit to this cost to maintain Misha’s health! She will need to be on this supplement for the rest of her life. Additionally, Misha has been recently diagnosed with atypical Addision’s disease, and needs to be on a low dose of Prednisone daily for life as well. The cost of this treatment is minimal, thankfully. Despite Misha’s high-maintenance medical needs, she is a wonderful dog brimming with potential! She knows basic commands (come, sit, stay) and has the potential to learn much more with a little training. She has good recall, rides well in the car, and is good on the leash as well. She loves toys but does not tear them up, and she has shown the same respect for household items. She especially loves to play fetch, but you may need 2 balls to play with since she often will not drop the one she retrieves until you offer up another one to replace it.  In short, she's a great dog and would make an excellent family pet; she just needs a family that can commit to maintaining her health via this Viokase supplement.   https://youtu.be/593gZO2Gyso Age: 2 years  Weight: 54 lbs  (needs to be around 65) Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, spayed and heartworm negative and up to date on vaccines Temperament: great with everyone, loves dogs, great with kids.  Training: House trained but needs frequent bathroom breaks due to her medical conditions.    For questions, please email  ali.mentana@gmail.com    To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Story
Chepp is a three year old German Shepherd who loves nothing more than to be home with his humans and go for walks. He gets along with other dogs and even cats but prefers to be with his people. That said, he does not have an ounce of aggression and is very polite around other animals. We think he would be great in a home with kids based on how much he loved spending time with his foster's six year old niece. Chepp is crate trained and house trained. He is a good boy when left alone in the house. His walks well on the leash but pulls sometimes. He knows some commands- sit. lay down, paw, and wait. Chepp has come a long way in his foster home and is ready to find a family to call his own! Age: 2 years  Weight: 75 lb   Temperament: good with dogs,  good with kids, not good with cats  Training: Housetrained, crate trained , knows commands, sit, wait, laydown, paw.    Vetting: neutered, up to date on vaccines, HW negative     For questions, please email:   sonaligokhale@yahoo.com  &#226&#128&#139   To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Story
Pawsey is sweet, calm, and is pretty content to just have a soft place to sleep and a home to call his own. He is two years old, 60 pounds, but we anticipate some weight gain now that he is in a foster home. He is even more stunning in person. Pawsey gets along great with other dogs. He has been gentle around kids and we think he might even be cat friendly. Based on preliminary cat testing, he has the potential of co-exiting with feline friends and we can walk you through how to successfully integrate a dog into a home with cats. In general, Pawsey is on the low-energy side. He is easy to leash, easy to walk, and just about easy to handle in every setting. He enjoys human affection. He will stand still and let you brush him all over! Pawsey is a gem. He is the perfect balance of looks, temperament, friendliness, and smarts. Story
**He is currently in Seattle** Mukgoo is about 5 years old. He was found near an army base in Korea and immigrated to America around the age of 1 on President’s Day of 2020. He is an incredibly smart and lovable dog. He is kind and loves people (loves dogs and people). He will eat almost anything (except veggies). He can be a jumper when he gets very excited. He prefers households with another dog and a big yard to run around in but it’s not a non-negotiable. He has always adjusted well to whatever the circumstance. Overall, he’s a good dog and he’s got a lot of love to give. I’m having to give him up due to being unable to raise him in my current life stage. In no way, this is due to any bad behaviors or anything. He’s a really kind-hearted and sweet dog. Likes - He loves playing fetch (quickest way to his heart), rolling in the grass, puppycinos, ice cream, snow, people, dogs - Historically has liked lamb, fish skin, salmon, bully sticks, dental sticks, sweet potato, etc. In general, he loves to eat~ - Very social and prefers to greet other dogs and people, including dog parks, doggy day cares Dislikes - He dislikes bath but who does - He doesn’t like being alone but can manage a few hours if needed - No longer is a fan of veggies - Fireworks and big noises Things to Watch out for - Throwing up: If you let him freely eat grass, he’ll throw up. When he feels stressed, he can react by throwing up. - He can be independent when he is fixated on things. Just be patient with him and he will come back to focus on you. He is a people pleaser. - He rarely barks. He may bark when other dogs bark but even that is rare. He is more of a whiner. If he needs to let you know something, he will whine. - Not a counter surfer but can be if you let him Commands He knows his basic commands (sit, down, hand, etc.) and is open to learning new ones as well. Potty He is used to peeing and pooing outside. Once you create a regular spot and time for him, it’s clockwork. Otherwise, just be aware when he whines that it may be time to go. - At a high level, he knows “go potty” and “go poo” as a sign to go to the bathroom - He will rarely go pee or poo inside the home. Once in a million tries, a thing like that can happen during the night but he’s really sorry when he does. Leash He has never been fully off-leash, only in areas that condone it (home, backyard, dog park, etc.). He is not one to go off-leash and run away. He’ll run around and try to have you play with him. Keep him on a short leash if you need to focus on walking as he can veer away due to his interest in sniffing. Once on a short leash, he’ll understand and walk along. However, give him time to sniff as he is very curious with smells. Sleep He can sleep together or on his own if you’re in a different room or floor. He is also loves to cuddle up as well. When there’s fireworks, it’s recommended you sleep where he sees you because he’s afraid of the loud sounds. Food He is on one meal a day. If you give him two meals a day, he may not eat the first meal. Snacks though he loves. He knows how to sit and wait for food. He is currently on Costco’s salmon and sweet potato meal.
