Story
Atlas deserves a second chance. I found him in Texas living under a car, alone, without food or water. I couldn’t leave him there, so I rescued him and brought him with me to Florida. Since then, he has shown himself to be an incredibly loving and gentle dog. Atlas is about 11–12 months old, still young, playful, and full of energy. He loves being around people, enjoys playing with kids, and seeks affection. He generally gets along well with other dogs; at dog parks he can be a little shy at first, but once he feels comfortable he enjoys interacting. He is learning his routines. He uses training pads and, like any young dog, benefits from regular walks throughout the day to keep learning and release energy Unfortunately, I need to find him a new home because my apartment complex does not allow me to keep him. I’m not looking for a perfect family—just one willing to love him, guide him, and give him the opportunity he deserves. Atlas has so much love to give and just needs someone

Story
Sasha is being fostered in PA. Sasha needs to be an only dog. She does not like active dogs Sasha can ONLY be adopted to a home with older children or all adults. Sasha is NOT good with cats. Sasha is spayed. Christmas time is here, soon a new year will dawn, and I’m still patiently waiting for my furever home and that special family to give me lots of love and belly rubs. I enjoy walks and will do OK without a fenced yard if you take me out on walking adventures. If you have a fenced yard I will run and play with you. I just enjoy the company of peeps. I don’t care to be with other dogs, just be by myself with my humans. I am a good girl in the house…unless you leave tasty morsels of food on the counter. Then I may just have to help myself! I know Sit, Down, am learning Wait, but I don’t really want to wait, hee hee. I also do pretty well on a leash. I’m still working on some other things like no jumping up on my peeps. I just want to greet and say Hi and give kisses and hugs to my peeps. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Layla is a sweet, very playful 1 yr old, (11/29/24), weighing in at 62 lb on 2/18/26. She does follow some commands but, somewhat hard-headed to do this with consistency. She eats well between 5-6 pm. Completed spay surgery on 2/18. Motivated by food. Enjoys toys but, must be sturdy! Loves walks however, triggered by other dogs in close proximity; added exposure needed. She has acclimated to life with my 7 year old unneutered 152 lb Presa canario and 37 lb 13 year old Terrier mix. This took 3 months. I have had both of mine since they were 8 weeks old. Both have a very calm temperament and were initially disrupted by her very playful behavior. House training has improved; never relieves in living space but will in crate without a watchful eye on her cues. Requires a lot of time and attention, particularly for me, being over 65 with a recent TKR. Want to avoid kill-sites; all no-kill facilities have been full for some time now. Hopefully a permanent home presents sooner than later.

Story
Volunteer Notes: She hopped right into the car for her Doggy Day Out, though she seemed a bit nervous during the ride. Once we got going, she stayed very close and happily followed me everywhere I walked. She is a very high-energy dog and can jump very high, so she’ll likely do best with an active adopter who can give her plenty of exercise and help work on her manners. She’s also a bit of a counter surfer and will try to grab food if it’s within reach. With guidance and a treat, she was able to sit, but she will benefit from basic training to help her learn commands and boundaries. During our outing, she showed great behavior around other animals, she saw ducks but didn’t chase them and was able to walk by other dogs without reacting. She is very affectionate and loves giving kisses, and if you stop petting her, she’ll gently nudge her head in to ask for more. One of the highlights of her day was enjoying a pup cup, which she absolutely loved.
