Story
We've had Bo since March 2024 when we found him wandering along Stockton Blvd. We tried to find his family for weeks but came up with nothing. We already had two dogs at the time and decided to try to make it work with three dogs. We took him to south sac pet hospital and he wasnt chipped. We since had him neutered and the vet estimated he was about a year and a half old. Our first dog has some anxiety issues and they get along with Bo for the most part but every now and then there has been a fight. There hasn't been any fights between him and our room-mate's dog. He's not the best with cats. He hasn't been aggressive with our cats but he does get very fixated on them and we've never felt comfortable leaving him unsupervised with our cats. Bo is a very sweet dog who loves people and wants to play all the time! We feel Bo would be a great "only child." He's potty trained and crate trained.

Story
We found him in McKinley park, late one night, he is the sweetest dog ever, sadly, with our elderly cat we cant take care of both of them, he loves cuttles, is amazing with my little sister (12). He is a quite and reserved dog, but an absolute cutie and kind soul. We would love to keep him as my sister is attacked but sadly we cannot, in that way, he comes with a lifetime of free pet sitting, and dog walks, we would love if someone who is willing to stay in contact with us, to adopt this little angle

Story
Adopted her from Palms & Paws 29 Palms, CA 8m ago while pregnant. I now have a 3m old & am a single active duty military mom. She’s a 4yr old GSD/Lab/Boxer/etc (DNA test). Absolute sweetheart but has a bit of anxiety. VCA recommended possibly getting her started with anxiety meds. Not great with new people/dogs. LOVES playing with tennis balls & squeaky toys. She’s completed basic obedience training at Blue Barn Ranch in Yucca. She’s incredibly smart & knows plenty of commands. Crated trained. She needs more work on leash & currently uses a prong collar for pulling as I had to handle her while I was pregnant & now with a newborn. During an evening walk about a month ago, she nipped the back of my leg when she saw our neighbors but didn’t break skin. Made me realize that I don’t have enough time between work & my baby to give her the amount of attention she needs/deserves. She would do best in a no dog home & is very gentle with kids. Her OG owner lives 4 houses from me.

Story
Raven was a puppy coming out of an abusive home. She was in poor health and was not properly cared for. Now, don’t let the name fool you; this dog is about as graceful as a three-legged giraffe on roller skates. With a shiny coat and a personality that could only be described as "enthusiastically obnoxious," and could rival a cat on a bad day. She allows you to pet her on her terms and may pee a little when overexcited. She’s known to steal sticks of butter, chew on your favorite hat, and will eat trash but not most human foods. She dislikes most people upon the first meeting and has shown some fear based aggression toward strangers. She still pulls on a lead but can sit calmly when other dogs pass. She’s about 3 years old. She gets along well with other medium to large size dogs. A small dog could get stepped on. She needs more discipline than my home can offer. I’m hoping to find someone experienced with GSDs that is willing to work through her behaviors.

To apply or see more of Archie, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2023/12/12/archie WE ARE LOOKING FOR A FOSTER, FOSTER TO ADOPT OR ADOPTER ASAP! PLEASE complete our foster or adoption form to get started! Already have an app on file? Email info@heartsforpawsrescue.com Hello there. I'm Archie, the strikingly handsome 5.5-year-old mixed breed on a quest to find my special forever home. I'm this unique mix (staffy, border collie, shep, and more) creating a perfect blend of awesome. Yeah, I'm a bit of a super mutt, and my good looks are just the beginning. I have the potential to be a wonderful soul dog and loyal best friend. But here's the scoop – I'm not your typical social butterfly. Interacting with strangers or socializing at house parties? No thank you. I'm more of a one-on-one kind of pup. Now, let's talk about my journey. I was adopted through HFP when I was just a pup, around 4 months old. Life was good, but sometimes things change, and my family had to make a tough decision. You see, I felt a bit uneasy around the toddler in the home, and it led to a subsequent bite. But here's the silver lining – I have so much love and loyalty to offer. If you're okay with a dog that prefers a quieter, more laid-back lifestyle, I could be your perfect match. I may not be the life of the party, but I'll be your rock, your confidant, your loyal companion. Together, we can create a bond that goes beyond the need for constant socializing. From the humans: Archie is still a GREAT dog with many wonderful qualities and will be an amazing addition to the right person/environment: Kid-free, quieter adult home Currently lives with cats Treat and toy motivated Has done well meeting dogs with proper intros (would not recommend dogs in the home due to resource guarding); while Archie is not a “dog park dog” — (please note HFP does not recommend dog parks for dog-socialization) — he has done well meeting and interacting with friendly dogs and has a small-dog friend he does well with! House-trained; no separation anxiety Moderate activity level; perfect combo of playful and couch potato Loves balls and this comes in handy when introducing new people to Archie; after slow proper intros, tossing the ball with Archie becomes a fun way to bond with him. People should be instructed to go slow — first ignore, not reach or pet, respect his body language throughout — luckily treats and balls help win Archie’s heart over within a few minutes! “Archie does totally fine unattended in the house for long periods of time (~8 hours is no problem) — we make sure he goes potty before we leave, and we make sure he has access to his bed, water and some chewies while we’re gone” Archie has done puppy training in the past - his impressive list of cues includes Sit, Down, Place (he goes to his bed/designated place), Paw (shake), Do Your Business, and Wait (when you want him to sit when putting his food down, etc.) Healthy with no physical issues or concerns Enjoys long walks where he can sniff everything and playing fetch with balls and sticks! He is a little too into rocks (so a rock-free backyard would be ideal) “Archie is a world-class snuggler (he likes to be little spoon!), an all-star fetcher, and also a giant couch potato. He loves his people SO much, and everyone who gets to know him thinks he is just the sweetest, most fun boy. We want him to find the best home possible - he truly deserves it!” The ideal home for Archie is calm and low-stress, without kids and other dogs. The home has a (ideally, rock-free) backyard and is in a low foot traffic area. His owners are loving, patient, and dog-savvy -- they can continue to invest in Archie's training and help him be successful when being introduced to new people. He is in a home with lots of treats, balls, and snuggles! Archie’s adoption donation is SPONSORED with an available $200 voucher from HFP towards enrolling with a certified trainer to get started on the right foot! Archie is currently being fostered in FAIR OAKS, CA. DOB around 9/13/2018 Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time. Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue & Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more! *Courtesy post - if interested in this pet please contact the owner Anthony at anthonysegoviano27@gmail.com*  Rey is a sweet girl looking for her forever family. Rey is about 1 year old and full of love. Rey is a Belgian Malinois and would do best in a home familiar with the breed. She loves everyone she meets, though she can sometimes have a hard time containing her excitement! Rey has been around other dogs and did ok with them. We are not sure about cats but feel she could be fine. She is mostly housetrained though does have the occasional accident if we wait too long between taking her out.  *Courtesy post - if interested in this pet please contact the owner Anthony at anthonysegoviano27@gmail.com*      All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered.
