Story
Hi. I’m Finn!  I'm a happy, friendly boy and LOVE LOVE LOVE to meet new people. Sometimes I can't help it and want to say hi to everyone that passes by. I like other dogs, too, and enjoy a good game of "chase and be chased". I like it so much that some dogs think my greeting can be a little over the top but most want to play like me but I will chill if told to. I love walks and like to sniff everything. I'm great on leash as long as you use my front clip harness.  I don't pull with the front clip and it's easy to put on. I’m working hard on training and feel I have mastered sit, down, stay, shake and off. I am really a perfect walking buddy. But I love my walks and love to go out with my people.  Even though I love other dogs, sometimes I need to be reminded to share. However, if it’s a tug-of-war rope then GAME ON. I’ll play tug all day long!  If you have a swimming spot nearby, I'm in, literally. I ride nicely in the car and jump right in. I'm ready to roll. Even though l like other dogs, I really would be happy with my very own person. My foster family takes me to German Shepherd meetups and I’ve done great!  Like I said, I'm a friendly boy just waiting for that perfect family that wants to have fun and go places. Don't get me wrong, I can be a chill, snuggle buddy too and love to cuddle my foster dad in the mornings. I am  happy to liet at your side while you work or if youre just reading a book.  If you are looking for a great out-and-about boy, and have lots of energy and time to spend with me, come see me and we can be friendls. I really would like my own family soon. It's been a while and I am a super good boy. I have been told that I am mnore handsome in person. I am not reactive to dogs and I would love my own family, hopefully with a dog. I love to play. I'll be waiting with my foster family in Mountain View. Story
I'm Ari, my friends call me R-Dog. I'm 2 years old, mostly German Shepherd with a sprinkle of Doberman - a great mix that gives me my svelte shape and sleek black coat with tan tinted toes and feet. And in case you didn't notice, I have ginormous ears. I am super cute! I'm also super sweet and love attention. I'm kind of a lap dog sometimes but I absolutely LOVE exploring the world around me, too! Going on walks is one of my favorite things—I just can't get enough of all the wonderful smells! I walk pretty good on leash and love to get in the car and go for rides. I prefer the front seat where I can curl up and be close to you but I'll hang in the back, too.  I"m pretty chill on walks and basically mind my own but once in while something startles me and I get scared and bark and carry on a bit too much. If another dog gives me the hairy eyeball, I get too defensive and need to be reminded it's all ok. You see, I was adopted as a wee pup but my family lost interest in me and after a while they just left me in the back yard. I didn't get the greatest chance to meet new people and see new things. My friends at the rescue took me back and I'm learning so much "dog". They tell me I'm really doing well and what a smart, sweet girl I am.   I'm pretty friendly with other dogs that are calm and easy going greeters and once we meet and I know it's all good, I LOVE to play. I also like walking with my dog friends - we have a blast together!  My other most favorite thing is WATER - I LOVE THE WATER. Sometimes I get to swim in a pond or the creek and I LOVE IT and can't wait to jump in. You can usually find me lounging in my wading pool.  I grew up with a cat so I might be able to live with one. I don't think I have a desire to chase things but I'm curious. I'm comfortable going into stores and have no issues with floors or stairs. I think I would really enjoy a family or person that takes me to new places and lets me explore the world. I need adventure and excitement - what girl doesn't!  With a little patience and love, I know I'll grow into the best companion anyone could ask for. If you want to meet me, I'm hanging out in Santa Rosa and would love to say hi.  You like this dog...now what? Please take 3-4 minutes and complete our application form at:  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/42179/generic.  Our adoption team will quickly contact you by phone or email (watch your spam please) to see if it's a match!.  If you are already approved to adopt, please contact your Adoption Counselor and they will help you set up a meeting.  You can also sponsor Ari by clicking here. Story
Hi; I’m Holden! I’m 12 years old, and I absolutely love meeting people—everyone I see is a new friend and I will go with anyone who wants to take me for a walk.  When it comes to dogs, I’m pretty chill. I’ll say hi, maybe hang out for a bit, but then I like to do my own thing. When you leave our house, I might cry because I do want you to stay. I get over it but I love the company of friends. Now, cats... let’s just say I’m very interested! I might want to chase them, so I’m probably not the best fit for a home with cats. And squirrels... duh...they get me excited ! I’m proud to say I have nice house manners and haven’t had any accidents. I am a super good boy. Even though a comfy home is what I’m looking for and I love lounging around, I think leash walks are fun and I know they’re good exercise, so I don't mind going out at all.  I don’t react to anything around me when I’m on a stroll, well maybe except the pesky squirrel or cat. I won't hurt them but they do catch my eye. When you tell me to leave it, I will. I absolutely love to lay outside in the sun to to catch my Vitamin D. I’ve got a condition called carpal hyperextension in my front legs, but it doesn’t stop me from enjoying a nice outdoor walk. But something you should know about me is that hardwood floors can be tricky for me. It's not too bad at all, just letting you know. I am good !  I’ve got a great appetite and my hair is super soft. My weight’s good now because my foster Mom keeps me on a good diet.  Also, sometimes I get a little anxious when left alone, but I’m adjusting and only whine for a minute or two especially when my foster Mom's friends leave. My foster mom says that I am really chill and so sweet ! Hah ! Everyone loves me. I have that white face on me, don't you think I look handsome?  Need someone to keep you company around the house? I’m really the bestest boy you could ask for! Mom also says I walk nicely on leash and don't pull.  I’ll be waiting with my foster mom in Elk Grove. You like this dog...now what? Story
Travis is a neutered male, about 2 years old, weighs 69 pounds. He is primarily German Shepherd, but also has a little bit of Husky and Staffie in him too. He is currently located at Search Dog Foundation in Santa Paula, CA. This is a Courtesy Post for Search Dog Foundation. Travis is a hunky hunk and he has all the things we love about German Shepherds…he is handsome, loyal, intelligent, trainable, soft to touch, and very playful. His original family raised him from puppyhood but couldn’t take him with them when they had to move out of state. The staff at the shelter in Los Angeles noticed his love of toys in addition to his ‘good boy’ temperament. They referred him to us (Search Dog Foundation), and we snapped him right up. The Search Dog Foundation is a working dog training center in Santa Paula, CA and we train dogs for search and rescue work.  However, Travis didn’t pass our extremely stringent medical clearance (due to a spot of arthritis in one of his hips that showed up in his x-rays) so we are hoping to help him find his perfect person(s) who will enjoy and appreciate him as much as we do. He did get adopted out from us, but came back when the older couple realized he was a little’ too much’ dog for their home, although they had nothing but good things to say about him… He is a sweet and playful boy who will catch a ball, play chase, tug a little (if you want him to). Besides looking a little like a teddy bear, he also looks much bigger in his photos than he is in real life. He’s actually a nice size (66 lbs) with a beautiful coat and soft loving eyes. He has a nice off switch and once he has decided you are worth his time, he is very affectionate (isn’t that just SO shepherd…?) His only bugaboo? He will need some further work on his leash skills. Travis is a fine dog who will thrive in an active environment with a normal exercise routine, just nothing too high impact (jumping off rubble piles and such…) Calling all Shepherd lovers! Don’t let this one get away! Kids? Older would be better, he is a big dog and quite physical. Cats? We cat tested him, he will need a slow and supervised introduction, but we think he would be ok. There were 2 cats in his adoptive home and he had been in the process of getting used to them. No disasters to report. Dog: He definitely could use some socializing with other dogs. He’s a little rough around the edges in this area. If another dog was in the home, we would definitely suggest a long and slow introduction process. Travis will be waiting in Santa Paula CA. Story
Hi, I'm Loki! I'm a 6-year-old boy and people say I am a stunning GSD. I have really thrived in my foster home and am now a healthy 108 pounds.  My beautiful black coat is thick and shiny. First and foremost - I love open spaces like a rural setting  I still get startled at times by things I am not familiar with or do not understand.  This is improving as I get more exposure. so I'll need mindful introductions to new things.  I need practice on leash not getting wound up when I see things in motion or other dogs; I'm busy training to address these issues. I have lots of fun playing off lead with other dogs and I love it when I get to visit friends with lots of property for roaming.  I  often hang out with a senior small dog and just ignore him.  I have done a great job meeting new people.  I've got good house manners and sleep quietly beside my foster mom's bed at night. I ride quietly in the car in a draped crate. But if I can't go along with you, I'll wait patiently in the house without getting into any trouble. My foster leaves me loose in the house and I have been respectful of that.  Oh, and I LOVE my ball! I carry it around with me everywhere in the house—it's like my little sidekick. I am a BIG boy. If you love tall, dark and incredibly handsome boys who have just enough mystery to keep it interesting then I may be your match.   I hope you’d like to meet me. I’ll be waiting in Walnut Creek. Story
Hi. I'm Boone! I'm a sweet and gentle 2-year-old boy with the cutest face!!  So, here's my story:  I was abandoned with my brother and ended up in a scary shelter. My brother was much braver than me and had no trouble meeting people and he got adopted. I was really scared when he left me alone and I just wanted to hide. Then some kind people got me out of there just in time and I've been trying my very best to be brave. I like people once I get to know them. It just takes me a while and I'm really worried I will be hurt. Once we're friends, I am affectionate and enjoy being around you. I have never bitten or even threatened to bite anyone, that would not be cool. I even did pretty well with the vet recently as long as my trusted people were with me and telling me it was ok. I have not met any cats but I kind of think I would be a little scared of the hissy spitty things.  I would love to find a home that’s calm and quiet, with not too many strangers going in and out. If new people come over, I'd need a safe space where I can relax. I won’t cause any trouble—I'm just a little nervous around unfamiliar faces and need some time to feel safe. The perfect family for me would be quiet, patient, and understanding, and would give me the time I need to adjust. Having a calm, confident dog sibling to play with and hang out with is really important for me since I’ll follow their lead and feel more comfortable with them around. I'm not much of a barker, and I’m not destructive either. I may still be a bit scared of the big world right now, but with the right family, I know I can find my way. If you’re looking for a quiet, gentle guy like me and prefer quiet instead of chaos, maybe we will be a match. I know it won't be easy at first but I will try really hard to be the bestest boy I can.  If you want to give me a chance I will be waiting in Santa Rosa. You like this dog...now what?
