Maza is a 3-year-old German Shepard; she has so much energy and is such a sweetheart. She enjoys playing catch and just the presence of someone. I hope to find a home that can give her the attention and affection she deserves and allow her to take the time to play with her. She is afraid of fireworks and the wind; she hates getting wet.

Story
Gypsy is almost 2 years old. She was found out in the forest while my girlfriend was out hiking. Someone else had found her and her siblings left tied to a rock. I fell in love with her immediately. We've had her for a little over a year. Unfortunately, with our 1 year old toddler and my 96 year old grandmother, she spends most of her time outside and I worry she doesn't get enough attention. Worse, we acquired a second female dog and they typically get along great, but both are unspayed and they've now begun to fight. We're now hoping to find loving homes for both of them where they can get the love and attention they deserve.

Story
Hi, my name is Holly! I’m a 2–3-year-old female German Shepherd mix. I’m a shelter survivor and I am ready to find my forever home! I love to run and play! My favorite thing to do is fetch and play with my binky (Kong toy). I love to ride in the car and jump in my little swimming pool in the summer. I’m a good listener. I love my daily walks around the block or a 5-mile run! It doesn’t matter to me, as long as I’m spending time with you. Although I have a lot of energy for play time, I also like to relax and lounge around the house (preferably on a bed)! But I’m sure I’ll always be within a few feet from you. I absolutely love my humans, and I can’t wait to love you too! I don’t like when other dogs approach me while I’m on a leash and I am dog selective, but I hope you can overlook that because I have so much love to give! I am very smart; I love routines, and I will try very hard to please you. I promise to love you, protect you and bring so much joy to your home!

He&#39s definitely afraid of traffic and is going to need a home that&#39s willing to work with him. He&#39s got one of the most expressive faces and adores the people he interacts with on a daily basis. The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Fargo IS AVAILALBE (updated 08-23-2024).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Fargo, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=21785&name=FargoFargo is a true working dog who is motivated by his stomach and toys. He&#39s ridiculously smart and obedience trained, but wasn&#39t socialized prior to his rescue. He&#39s spent his time with us training and now just needs someone who will help him transition what he&#39s learned into becoming part of a family. We rescued Fargo from the OC Shelter and he&#39s proven to be a smarty pants with a nose that never stops. He looks to have had no structure in his previous home and will do best with someone who has large breed experience (working dog experience a plus!) and understands dogs who need proper introduction to new people. He&#39s a big puppy and can be fearfull around fast moving people whom he doesn&#39t already know, so a low traffic home with no children is recommended. He is, however, super food motivated and follows direction like a well oiled machine once heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s bonded with you, so he just needs to find someone who will work with him and allow him to grow into a perfectly balanced boy. Fargo loves his toys, his walks, is obedience trained, and a super quick study. He knows sit, down, stay, come, heel, swing, place, back, drop it, slip, hupf, nein, and then some. This handsome boy is ready to move into a home of his own!The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. Gunner IS AVAILALBE (updated 08-23-2024).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Gunner, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=21838&name=GunnerHere&#39s the thing about this really smart, handsome, smart, gorgeous, smart GSD: He&#39s smart. He can also be stubborn. He&#39s like a teenage boy in the body of a GSD. ð&#194&#159&#194&#152&#194&#129Gunner is just about the most well trained dog in our rescue. He&#39s been working on his obedience game for over a year and knows all of the tricks. He has a relationship with certain volunteers in which he understands they are the leaders and he is the follower. Once you achieve that relationship with him, he&#39s just about the most fun canine companion in the world! But, and here&#39s the but, you don&#39t have that relationship with him yet. As smart as he is, he&#39s not a well oiled machine who is the same dog with different people. He is going to be a dream dog for someone who likes to work their dogs, but he is going to be a handful for someone who doesn&#39t. Around 6-7 years of age, Gunner is your typical working dog with lots of energy who is smart as a whip, loves to run and play, and adores his people. He craves work, loves a job, and would probably enjoy agility. He&#39s adorable, loving, affectionate, playful, and needs a home with GSD/working dog experience or he will take the lead position and become overly protective. If you&#39re looking for a smart puppy who would love to be part of an active home, Gunner is your boy!The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. For more information and the adoption application for Roxxie, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=21886&name=RoxxieHave you been scouring the internet for a young, gorgeous GSD with more drive than an F-350? Do you need a dog whose ball drive is through the roof? Who will work for a ball, even if it&#39s really only â&#194&#133&#194&#147 of the felt that actually makes up a ball, because that&#39s all that&#39s left, but she works for it like it&#39s a Kong sized ball with a squeaker inside? Meet Roxxie!Roxxie was born May 15, 2017. She is a very high drive working dog who is as smart as they come, has an enormous ball drive, is obedience trained (knows French, German, and English commands), gives off Malinois energy, and is a gorgeous spitfire of a pup. She&#39s happy to chase down balls for hours, is potty trained, crate trained, great on a leash, a superb hiking or running partner, and is looking for someone who understands GSDs with this kind of drive. She didn&#39t appear to have been socialized with other dogs and was very reactive when she came to us, but has learned to be civilized around other dogs and does well in a play-group setting. She needs someone with a low traffic home and working dog/GSD experience who understands dogs who will become overprotective if not given a life of structure.Roxxie received a DNA test for Christmas and you can read her results here. The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. Ivan IS AVAILALBE (updated 08-23-2024).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Ivan, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22254&name=IvanIvan is a big boy. Not in the way that people stumble around extra husky gents by calling them â&#194&#128&#194&#156big,â&#194&#128&#194&#157 but his frame- his super sized frame seems like it was created to build pyramids or move mountains or, at minimum, to reach things on the highest shelf. This handsome XL fella, around 5 years old, has made so much progress since his rescue. At the shelter, he wouldnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t come out of his run. He was freaked out when they tried to leash him up, frantically bolting to escape, gator rolling to avoid being handled, and refusing to be coaxed out of his run with food and even a puppy friend. He wasnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t a candidate for public adoption, so a rescue became his only option.Step one was to get him comfortable with us and step two was to get him on a slip lead. We made slow but steady progress, but it was clear that everything was new and overwhelming to him. We worked on building confidence, trust, and obedience. Now he was comfortable enough to go for a walk around the neighborhood. Next, we started getting him comfortable with getting in a car, which terrified him at first. He can now go on walks with volunteers, enjoys checking out the local message boards, and loves a car ride to Home Depot. Ivan has had a long road, but heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s ready to join a family: a family who understands that he still might be fearful of some new things and heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s going to need a little time to get used to your routine. A family who can show him structure, is patient, and knows that the time they put into working with Ivan will pay off ten fold. A family who can show Ivan there are people who consider dogs part of the family and donâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t just leave them outside until they decide to dump them at shelters. A family who will love him and get a loyal companion in return. ð&#194&#159&#194&#146&#194&#153The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500.
