Sweet Linda adapts easily and loves affection, all people, and chewing large sticks! Inquisitive, energetic, gentle, easy-going, and a lovely personality. Would you consider sending Linda a gift through our Amazon Wishlist? 💛 https://a.co/1N5hkIu ← By shopping Linda’s Wishlist, you can donate much-needed items that will be shipped directly to her foster home. Meet Linda 💛 Linda is the kind of dog who makes you feel instantly loved. She’s affectionate, joyful, and full of life — always ready to run, play, explore, or curl up near her people. She loves being outdoors and would be thrilled to join you for runs, hikes, or long walks (she proudly volunteers as your personal trainer and motivational coach 🏃‍♀️). Linda adores people most of all. She greets the world with enthusiasm and sometimes jumps up to say hello — she’s working on her manners, but it comes from pure excitement and love. She’s wonderful with kids (hand-licking included), enjoys car rides, and bonds deeply with her humans. She’s also protective and alert, happily barking to let you know when someone’s nearby — a loyal family guardian at heart. She gets along with other dogs, is fine with cats, but truly prefers human companionship. Despite her street-dog beginnings, Linda is a classy lady — often found lounging with her paws delicately crossed. She would love a home with a yard, but she’s also proven she can do well in an apartment with enough exercise and stimulation. Linda has been through more than any young dog should. Estimated to be just one year old when she entered the shelter, she was heavily pregnant and tragically lost all 11 of her puppies. She has since been rescued and placed in foster care, though she’s had to move between homes and would greatly benefit from a stable, long-term foster or forever family. Linda is herpes-positive, though the virus is currently dormant and does not affect her daily life or personality. She is healthy, happy, and full of love to give — and she deserves to be seen for the amazing dog she is, not a medical label. If you’re looking for a loyal companion, adventure buddy, protector, and cuddle partner all in one — Linda might just be your girl.

Meet Foi — Your Sweet, Soft-Souled Survivor Foi’s journey hasn’t been easy. She was surrendered to the shelter in heartbreaking condition — left for dead, covered in painful, oozing, bloody skin lesions from a severe skin disease. Her infection ran deep, and it was clear she had endured far more than any dog ever should. But despite everything she had been through, Foi’s gentle spirit never faded. We got her into dermatology right away, and thanks to proper care, love, and time, she is healing so beautifully. She will be on lifelong skin medication, but she has truly come out of her shell — and she is the best girl. Now, Foi is ready for the safe, loving home she’s always deserved. This soft, observant sweetheart is a certified couch potato and a loyal little “watcher.” She loves being part of the home’s quiet rhythm — lounging nearby, taking in her surroundings, and greeting you joyfully the moment you walk through the door. She settles easily for naps and bedtime, enjoys being part of the pack, and still loves her personal space. Gentle forehead pets, tasty treats, and interacting through her toys are her love languages. She does have a fear of heights, so keeping all four paws safely on the ground is her preference. If you’re looking for a mellow, affectionate, resilient companion who just wants to be near you and feel safe, Foi might be your perfect match.

Sarah just loves WATER! She jumps into the large 40 gallon water buckets we have and just lays in them lol She does not like being left outside during the day but enjoys playing with Bear when the temperatures cool down. She loves other dogs and it would be nice for her to have playmates. She learns quickly and kennels herself when it's time for the small dogs to come outside and play. She has not clue how big she is so we can't let her play with small dogs as she tackles even dogs her size. Sarah is an owner surrender :( She is young energetic and shy. She's had a hard week having to leave the only family she's known. She's already been to the vet and is currently recovering from being spayed. I'm sure we will see more of her personality as she starts to decompress. To apply go to rocknpawzrescue.com and Download the application and return it to rocknpawzrescue@gmail.com

Story
Meet Luca! A devoted five-and-a-half-year-old German Shepherd mix currently living in Huntington Beach, CA, whose essence is a blend of soulful loyalty, gentle affection, and joyful curiosity all wrapped in a striking black coat with charming white accents. Luca is a big-hearted boy, weighing in at 85 pounds of pure companionship! He’s the kind of pup who lights up when he sees his people, tail wagging like a banner of excitement. If Luca had a love language, it would be physical touch. He thrives on connection, adores cuddles, and will happily lean into your legs for a good ear scratch or belly rub! He’s a playful adventurer who loves fetch, exploring new scents, and taking in the world around him. But don’t be fooled, Luca is just as content snoozing in the sun after a good play session. He’s learned basic commands like “come” and “down,” and thanks to time spent with a skilled behaviorist, he's made big strides in confidence and calmness. Luca currently lives peacefully with a sweet female dog and is incredibly gentle with her, even when she gets a little bossy! That said, he's still learning how to navigate the world of unfamiliar dogs. Busy areas or on-leash greetings with reactive pups can make him nervous, so a quiet setting with space to decompress is where he truly shines. His ideal new family? Someone experienced and patient, who can continue the positive reinforcement practices that have already helped him so much. He’d do well in a peaceful home with a large, secure yard, preferably one without too many canine neighbors peeking through fences. He might enjoy the company of a calm, compatible dog, or he could be your one-and-only snuggle buddy. Luca is house-trained, vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He’s also great with young kids and friendly to strangers, especially if those strangers have treats or a good petting hand! Luca is waiting for his next great adventure, could it be with you? Meet Donna! A brilliant and bouncy three-year-old German Shepherd mix currently in Brentwood, CA, whose essence is a dazzling blend of athleticism, affection, and a swirl of brindle beauty. With her sleek black-brindle coat and eager eyes, Donna turns heads, but it’s her heart that truly shines. This girl is the total package for anyone who loves an intelligent, energetic, and incredibly devoted companion. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and knows all the basics thanks to her sharp mind and food-motivated nature. Donna thrives on structure, positive reinforcement, and brain games that challenge her natural instincts. Whether you’re heading out for a run, hitting a trail, or just exploring new sights from the passenger seat, she’s always ready. Tail wagging, tongue out, and paws dancing with excitement! Donna adores her people. She’s a gentle snuggler who will rest her head in your lap, quietly soaking up affection and offering her unconditional love in return. She’s done wonderfully with children ages 7–12 and enjoys being part of the everyday rhythm of family life. While loud noises or unfamiliar sights might cause her to pause, a calm voice and gentle reassurance bring her right back. Donna is a high-energy girl who needs more than just a stroll around the block, she needs real adventure and consistent engagement to be at her happiest. She’s shown great progress with leash training and has even walked calmly beside another dog after a guided session, but she is dog-reactive and will thrive as the only pet in her new loving home. She’s also had an unfortunate experience recently when an off-leash dog attacked her, so a patient and experienced pet parent who understands her sensitivities will be essential. When left alone, Donna does best crated, as she can get a bit too creative with bedding or household items. But when her needs are met, physically and mentally, she blossoms into the most loyal shadow you’ll ever have. Are you ready to welcome a fiercely loving, spirited sidekick into your life? Because Donna is ready to light up your world! To learn more or take the next step, reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com! Could Donna be the devoted adventure buddy you’ve been dreaming of?

Story
Meet Gracie! A vibrant and intelligent one-year-old Belgian Malinois mix currently in Santa Barbara, CA, whose essence is pure sunshine wrapped in a golden coat with a striking black muzzle. Gracie is the kind of dog who doesn’t just enter a room, she lights it up! From her earliest days as a spirited pup, she’s brought boundless energy, deep affection, and a spark of joyful mischief to everyone she meets. She was raised in a lively environment surrounded by nine other dogs, which helped shape her into a sociable, playful girl who thrives around canine companions. Whether it’s romping around the yard or sharing a nap after a busy day, Gracie understands the language of dogs and she’s fluent in fun! Though she has a strong and athletic build, Gracie has a tender side that shines through in quiet moments. She's happiest when curled up on the couch or snoozing near her person’s bed, always ready to trade belly rubs for love-filled gazes. She’s particularly gentle with children, forming a special bond with a seven-year-old friend who thinks the world of her. Her heart is as big as her energy, and she leans into connection with an enthusiasm that’s nothing short of contagious! Gracie is house-trained, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and crate-comfortable thanks to a successful board-and-train program. Her high intelligence means she learns quickly, but it also means she needs plenty of mental stimulation and structure. Her new family should be ready for an energetic, clever companion who thrives with activity, consistency, and lots of positive reinforcement. While she adores other dogs, she can be a bit too exuberant for older pups or more sensitive pets. As for cats, she’s curious, perhaps a bit too curious, so a home without feline friends may be the best fit for now. Gracie is looking for a home that can match her heart and her drive. A place full of love, play, and plenty of adventure! Could you be the one ready to explore life with this brilliant golden girl by your side? If you're ready to welcome Gracie into your heart and home, reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com! What kind of adventures will you and Gracie embark on together? Story
Meet Zeus! A determined three-year-old Dutch Shepherd currently in Lake Elsinore, CA, whose energy and intelligence are matched only by the depth of his soulful eyes and his richly brindled black and brown coat. Zeus is a true working breed; sharp, active, and always thinking. At about 55 pounds of solid muscle and curiosity, he's looking for a dog-savvy pet parent who understands what it means to guide a high-energy pup with structure, patience, and positive reinforcement. While he's still building confidence, once Zeus trusts you, he melts into your side like a marshmallow, offering those classic puppy eyes and soaking up every cuddle like it's his favorite reward (it might be!). Currently thriving in a caring foster home, Zeus is in full decompress mode, learning what safety feels like and discovering that life doesn't always have to be on high alert. On walks, he's still working through his leash reactivity, especially around other dogs, cats, or unfamiliar people. With consistency, trust-building, and brain games to keep his clever mind busy, he's going to be an amazing companion for someone ready to invest in his continued growth. Zeus knows "sit," is house-trained, crate-trained, and neutered. He prefers a peaceful environment with no children, and while he's selective with other animals, he could be compatible with the right dog or cat buddy with slow introductions and supervision. A securely fenced yard is a must. He needs room to run, sniff, and explore safely. Like many intelligent dogs, Zeus can be a little stubborn, and he's shown some resource guarding around his crate, so he’ll thrive with a caregiver who’s committed to using positive reinforcement and perhaps even partnering with a trainer. In return, you’ll get a deeply loyal, goofy, gentle soul who just needs time to bloom. Zeus is more than a handsome face, he’s a story in the making, a heart ready to connect, and a spirit waiting to run free with his person by his side. Could you be the one to help him write his next chapter? Ready to meet Zeus and see if your heart beats the same rhythm as his? If you’re interested in providing Zeus with a loving home, please email meetme@joyfulpets.com for more information about adopting him! Please note that Zeus is currently in foster care through one of our trusted rescue partners and will remain with his foster family until the right match is found. Because rescue-partner pets are managed directly by their respective organizations, their adoption process, requirements, and fees may differ from Joyful Pets’ direct rehoming program. Our team will be happy to connect you with the rescue and help guide you through their process to ensure everything goes smoothly. Content Notice: This pet is represented by Joyful Pets. Story
Meet Duke! A gentle almost nine-year-old Belgian Malinois/Labrador Retriever mix currently in San Marcos, CA, whose tan coat, white accents, and striking black muzzle give him the look of quiet nobility and the heart of a true companion. Duke weighs 60 pounds and brings with him a calm, affectionate spirit. He’s the kind of pup who wants nothing more than to be your constant companion. Whether you're curled up on the couch or working from home, he’ll be right by your side with a soft nudge or a warm presence at your feet. With formal obedience training under his belt, Duke confidently responds to commands like sit, stay, come, and leave it. He’s house-trained, neutered, and microchipped, and while he’s past his puppy energy, he still enjoys chewing on toys and bones when relaxing at home. But Duke does have one very important need: he doesn’t do well when left alone for long stretches. Separation anxiety causes him real stress, and when he’s anxious, he may chew on things or try to escape. A home where someone is present most of the time (whether that’s a remote worker, a retiree, or a family with a flexible schedule) would help Duke feel safe and secure. Loud trucks, fireworks, and crates are also known triggers for his anxiety, so a peaceful setting with a consistent routine is key. He’s selective with other dogs, he used to attend doggie day camp and coexists with a dog in his current home, but he can be reactive on leash and isn't a great match for households with multiple pups. Duke is not compatible with cats, but he’s very gentle with children and thrives in homes where love flows freely and things stay on the quieter side. Cuddly, loyal, and devoted, Duke is looking for a caregiver who understands his need for companionship and calm. He doesn’t need a lot, just a peaceful place, someone to love, and the comfort of knowing he’s not alone. To learn more about adopting Duke, please reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com!
