Tyrone is a friendly, energetic pup who enjoys spending time with people and exploring the world around him. When meeting new people, Tyrone can be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly. Once he feels comfortable, he happily leans in for pets and enjoys being close to his handlers. He’s an affectionate dog who often curls his body toward people and seeks out gentle attention. Tyrone has a moderate to high energy level and loves to run, explore, and play in the yard. Treats are a big motivator for him, which will make training fun and rewarding for both him and his future family. He will benefit from continued leash training, as he can pull strongly and sometimes gets frustrated if he wants to move in a different direction. Around other dogs, Tyrone has shown friendly but somewhat neutral social behavior. He may greet politely and sniff, but tends to move away if another dog becomes too pushy or overly energetic. A dog-to-dog meet is recommended for any potential canine housemates. Tyrone does have an old fracture in his left femur that healed before arriving at the shelter, and he may show some limping or weakness in his hind end at times. Clay is a 4 year old neutered male livestock guardian/shepherd mix. He loves people more than anything. He is good with cats and small dogs. He is okay with some large dogs and not others. He has not been observed around young kids. Clay is medium energy. He loves to run and play as well as cuddle and nap. He is still building confidence in new situations and with new people. He is very shy in public. At home, he is confident and always wants to be by his person's side. He will need someone willing to go slowly when introducing him to new people, animals and experiences. Clay was found on the streets of Modesto as a stray. No one claimed him. He was set to be euthanized at the shelter due to overpopulation before we took him. At the shelter, he was terrified and kept to himself in the corner, shut down in fear. In his foster home, he is lively and social.
