Story
MEGAN ✨
🐶 Age almost one year
🌍 Location: Incline Village
💙 female
🎃 Breed: lab/Border collie/poodle/German shepherd
Note: We got her DNA! She has lab, poodle, Border collie and about 30 more breeds! Note: the poodle in her is not enough to prevent shedding
📏 Size: she will be big size
⚖ Weight: 50 pounds now, probably full grown
She is chipped
Healthy: healthy, spayed
Nexgarde, dewormed, vaccines, 4 DX, blood test, bordatella
💃Energy: she has loving energy, always happy and playful, she gets along so easy with anyone .
🐶Friends of dogs: she is friendly with the dogs once she gets to know them, at first greet and meet Megan is a little of an outsider and a little cautious but it doesn’t take much time until she feels comfortable.
She definitely needs a few minutes to settled into new environments, but it doesn’t take long.
👧🏽 Children’s friends: At this point, she is afraid of children and will require more training. We are working on it!
⛓Etiquette with leash: Yes, but needs a little bit more confidence, which she is gaining every day. She walks well off leash and does not stray far. She looks back often, she does not want to lose you!.
🥘 Resource
MEGAN is a happy dog, always on the move, you notice her often
She happily shares toys and food. Maybe a little resource full on her food.
She is very obedient when she is spoken to but needs basic training.
📣 Barking/loud: no
When someone arrives at the house, they are received with caution. We are still working on getting her to trust people but she is learning.
Megan is a sweet dog
She definitely will love the runs in the woods or lakes.
🏡 Domestic: Yes
🚙 Good in the car: Yes, calm down in the car. She might whine for a few minutes when we first set off, but she quickly calms down. She has ridden both in a crate in the car and out.
TEMPERAMENT
MEGAN is an incredibly affectionate dog who loves you as soon you make contact with her .
Her energy is high
I have cats in my house and she gets very excited. She will need some work to be around cats, but she can learn. I'll keep working on her. UPDATE: She has already learned to be around the cats! She is very smart, eager to please.
She whines and howls a bit when food is being prepared or when she is super excited. I have been working on this (I have roommates!) and she has gotten much better. She is learning to be quiet when I tell her to stop. She comes when called. She does not bark a lot. She is very enthusiastic about life.
She has been going to dog obedience class and has come a LONG way. She's not very good at heel but she is learning not to pull. She can walk off leash (in the forest, for example) and she will stay with you. She knows sit, lay, stay and knows not to jump on people or items in the house (although she sometimes does it anyway!)
Megan is going to be an exceptional dog. I might be hard pressed to give her up at this point, because I have put a lot of energy into turning her into the perfect dog. She will have to go to an exceptional home!
Further observations: I have fostered Megan since May. She has come a LONG way to becoming a great dog. She will need a large yard and long walks so that she can run. She would do well with another dog about her size. She loves to play and chase.
She is initially very distrustful of children but at Thanksgiving, I am hoping to introduce her to my grandbabies so that she can learn to be gentle and not afraid.
