Story
German Shepherd Mix &#194&#149 3 years &#194&#149 Female &#194&#149 Medium &#194&#149 50lbs We found Hema on the side of the road bleeding profusely from his right nostril and took her to two different vets since the first one could not get the bleeding to stop. He stayed at the vet for 3 days while they tried to figure out why she would not stop bleeding. The bleeding was stopped. She was very skinny, and in poor nutritional health so felt this maybe the problem. She has been with us for several years and her nose bleeds if there is hot weather and if she is in direct sun light.  She is a special needs dog because of this. She may have a genetic disorder. Von Willebrand's disease. She is best for a home with no kids and no other pets. Hema does have shedding issues due to some skin problems that require daily care. She is not good with strangers and barks excessively if she hears people coming around. Hema can be destructive with household items so its best not to leave her unattended. She also likes to dig and jump fences so you need to have a large high fence.  Hema can have separation anxiety as well if left alone too long.  She also may have accidents in the home so she has to be watched to be taken outside to go to the bathroom. We do not have a central location to see our dogs.  Meeting any dog is by appointment ONLY currently. Appointments can be set up to meet any dog in San Diego. Currently we are unable to do any out-of-state adoptions. If you are interested in a particular dog please FILL OUT an Adoption Application at our website @ http://bajadogrescue.org/ready-to-adopt/adopt and we can schedule you for an appointment to meet with a particular dog if it is available. We do require an application if you are interested in adoption.  If you are interested in potentially adopting please fill out an application at http://bajadogrescue.org/ready-to-adopt/adopt. Your application will be reviewed and you will be placed on a waiting list for the dog(s). If your name comes up on the waiting list(s) we will contact you. He is now in a foster home in the Vancouver area, British Columbia. Despite his blindness, Harley is a bundle of joy, always radiating happiness in the company of people. Once he becomes acquainted with his surroundings, he demonstrates remarkable adaptability and a quick ability to learn his way around.

He&#39s definitely afraid of traffic and is going to need a home that&#39s willing to work with him. He&#39s got one of the most expressive faces and adores the people he interacts with on a daily basis. The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. For more information and the adoption application for Fargo, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=21785&name=FargoFargo is a true working dog who is motivated by his stomach and toys. He&#39s ridiculously smart and obedience trained, but wasn&#39t socialized prior to his rescue. He&#39s spent his time with us training and now just needs someone who will help him transition what he&#39s learned into becoming part of a family. We rescued Fargo from the OC Shelter and he&#39s proven to be a smarty pants with a nose that never stops. He looks to have had no structure in his previous home and will do best with someone who has large breed experience (working dog experience a plus!) and understands dogs who need proper introduction to new people. He&#39s a big puppy and can be fearfull around fast moving people whom he doesn&#39t already know, so a low traffic home with no children is recommended. He is, however, super food motivated and follows direction like a well oiled machine once heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s bonded with you, so he just needs to find someone who will work with him and allow him to grow into a perfectly balanced boy. Fargo loves his toys, his walks, is obedience trained, and a super quick study. He knows sit, down, stay, come, heel, swing, place, back, drop it, slip, hupf, nein, and then some. This handsome boy is ready to move into a home of his own!The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. Gunner IS AVAILALBE (updated 08-23-2024).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Gunner, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=21838&name=GunnerHere&#39s the thing about this really smart, handsome, smart, gorgeous, smart GSD: He&#39s smart. He can also be stubborn. He&#39s like a teenage boy in the body of a GSD. ð&#194&#159&#194&#152&#194&#129Gunner is just about the most well trained dog in our rescue. He&#39s been working on his obedience game for over a year and knows all of the tricks. He has a relationship with certain volunteers in which he understands they are the leaders and he is the follower. Once you achieve that relationship with him, he&#39s just about the most fun canine companion in the world! But, and here&#39s the but, you don&#39t have that relationship with him yet. As smart as he is, he&#39s not a well oiled machine who is the same dog with different people. He is going to be a dream dog for someone who likes to work their dogs, but he is going to be a handful for someone who doesn&#39t. Around 6-7 years of age, Gunner is your typical working dog with lots of energy who is smart as a whip, loves to run and play, and adores his people. He craves work, loves a job, and would probably enjoy agility. He&#39s adorable, loving, affectionate, playful, and needs a home with GSD/working dog experience or he will take the lead position and become overly protective. If you&#39re looking for a smart puppy who would love to be part of an active home, Gunner is your boy!The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. For more information and the adoption application for Roxxie, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=21886&name=RoxxieHave you been scouring the internet for a young, gorgeous GSD with more drive than an F-350? Do you need a dog whose ball drive is through the roof? Who will work for a ball, even if it&#39s really only â&#194&#133&#194&#147 of the felt that actually makes up a ball, because that&#39s all that&#39s left, but she works for it like it&#39s a Kong sized ball with a squeaker inside? Meet Roxxie!Roxxie was born May 15, 2017. She is a very high drive working dog who is as smart as they come, has an enormous ball drive, is obedience trained (knows French, German, and English commands), gives off Malinois energy, and is a gorgeous spitfire of a pup. She&#39s happy to chase down balls for hours, is potty trained, crate trained, great on a leash, a superb hiking or running partner, and is looking for someone who understands GSDs with this kind of drive. She didn&#39t appear to have been socialized with other dogs and was very reactive when she came to us, but has learned to be civilized around other dogs and does well in a play-group setting. She needs someone with a low traffic home and working dog/GSD experience who understands dogs who will become overprotective if not given a life of structure.Roxxie received a DNA test for Christmas and you can read her results here. The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500.
