Capybara is a friendly guy with lots of energy who is eager to please. He would benefit from training and leash work. He likes attention and tries to climb in your lap. In his kennel he can be a little barky. He does well with other dogs. We recommend he be placed with children ages 13 and up as he is still learning the art of polite greetings.

Story
We found Willow in the desert down in Arizona when she was roughly 7-8 months old & was just skin & bones. She immediately warmed up to both of us and slept in her crate the very first night. She just turned 4 in January (or February) and we were hoping her dog aggression would get better but it seems to have only gotten worse. She has the sweetest soul & absolutely loves and adores people. She has never bitten a person who wasn’t getting between her & another dog. We have 3 cats that she gets along with fine, one of them is her best friend and they play constantly. She is high energy and would thrive with someone who has property without any neighbors (who have dogs) around. She would be a great livestock dog. We would prefer not to rehome her but living without neighbors around does not seem like it is in our future, and we don’t believe she deserves to be left in her crate constantly just to be able to keep her. She is an absolute sweetheart and deserves a life we can’t give her.

Meet Howdy! A friendly 1 year old Siberian Husky mix who would love to be someone’s hiking buddy! He is looking for an active home that can provide him with the mental and physical enrichment needed to help him put his best paw forward in life! Howdy could likely go home with a well-matched doggy friend but could also thrive being a solo pup in the home. This handsome gent is looking for an experienced home who can give him the life he deserves.

Story
Hi. I'm Boone! I'm a sweet and gentle 3-year-old boy with the cutest face - so much expression in my brows don't you think!! You may have seen me here for a while now, looking for my new home. Please don't be scared by that, I'm a really sweet boy and I've really come a long way since I was saved from the scarey shelter. You see, at first I was a tad shy when it came to meeting new friends. New dog friends were a breeze and I get along with them all but human friends were a teeny bit different for me. It took me a while to trust people again but my those I did trust did not give up on me. I have been meeting lots and lots of people and am happy to say I LIKE THEM. Even when I was a little cautious meeting new friends, I never growled or snapped at anyone ever, even at the scary vet. I tried really, really hard and now I'm having so much fun.   I really do like having a dog friend, too. Humans are cool but another confident, easy going dog in the home can show me the ropes. I LOVE going on walks and I am really good on my leash. I love sniff walks and going places with my friends. You don't have to worry about me barking and carrying on either, I'm a gentleman. I know to do my business outside and I'm not destructive at all. I don't climb fences or dig under them. I pretty much like doing whatever everyone else is doing.  I would like a home that is somewhat calm with not a ton of new peeps in and out. If you do want to have some friends over, just make sure I can move away if I feel I need to. Who knows, I may just like all your friends, too. Bonus points if they bring their dogs over to play.  I have met a dog savvy cat and we made friends (you have to be friends with the ones wearing razors).  I'm currently hanging out with my foster mom and her dogs. It's fun and I really like her but I think I need my own forever where I can be the center of attention. If you would like to meet me, just let the kind people at the rescue know by filling out an application for yours truly!!!I  PLEASE NOTE: Boone has hip dysplasia. He has been seen by an orthopedic vet, and we were advised that surgery is not needed at this time and may never be needed. Should a veterinarian determine that Boone requires hip surgery AT ANY TIME, BAGSR will be responsible for all costs. Boone is very active and requires normal exercise. He loves to hike and explore and run with the rest of the dogs. Boone will occasionally have a very mild limp on one side, and he takes an anti-inflammatory once a day. You like this dog...now what? Please take 3-4 minutes and complete our application form at:  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/42179/generic Our adoption team will spring into action to help you adopt this dog. If you have already completed the application and are approved, please phone or text your adoption counselor and we will set up a meeting.  Not sure, foster first and adopt later! Story
Hi! I’m Cali — professional greeter, enthusiastic explorer, and full-time happy girl looking for my person. I absolutely love people. Truly. If you exist, I would like to meet you, say hello, and probably lean in for some affection. I’m a young pup with a big heart and even bigger enthusiasm for life. I didn’t get all the right socialization and exposure when I was younger, so I’m still learning how to navigate the world calmly — but I’m trying really hard and making great progress! The good news? I’ve already got my training basics down! I know sit, down, stay, heel, and my recall is excellent. I love learning, love working with my people, and I’m happiest when my brain and body are both busy. Toss a ball, go for an adventure, or practice training games with me and you’ll see my best self shine. I’m definitely a high-energy youngster. I start walks very excited (there’s just SO much to see!), but once I get moving and can sniff and explore, I settle in nicely. I ride beautifully in the car — I mostly just lay down and enjoy the trip (see see below). Now for my honest part: I have some big feelings about other dogs when I’m on leash. I can bark and lunge because I get overwhelmed and excited, and I’m a strong girl! I’m currently learning new collar skills and practicing walking in quieter environments so I can stay calm enough to learn better choices. I’m not aggressive — just enthusiastic and still figuring things out. I also get overly excited when I'm in the car and see another dog. I don't really know why and I'm really trying. With patience, consistency, and reward-based training, I know I can improve because I really want to do well.  For now, a home without another dog would be best while I'm learning.  I handle most grooming nicely, though I can be a little squirmy (holding still is hard when life is exciting!). I do tolerate brushing well. If I don't get my exercise, I can be a bit much with the jumpy, mouthy, let's GO behavior. My current peeps say I need to FOCUS, CALI.........LOL.  It's so hard when there is so much to see and do.  My ideal home?An active, dog-savvy person or family who understands that I’m a young dog still learning. I’ll need continued positive training, structure, exercise, and mental stimulation. A yard to play in would make me very happy but I will also need adventures away from home. Because I sometimes jump up and get overly excited, a home without young children would be best right now. I’m a work in progress — but I’m also incredibly sweet, playful, affectionate, and ready to become an amazing companion for someone willing to guide me. I didn’t get the attention and outlets I needed early on, and now I’m just waiting for someone to show me how wonderful life can be. If you live near Santa Rosa, my training team will continue working with me at no cost to help set us up for success. If I move farther away, my new family will need to commit to my continued training and socialization. It's also very important that my future training stays kind, compassionate, and reward-based — because that’s how I learn best.  What I really want is simple:a person to adventure with, learn with, and love with. Could that be you? ##2406718##

Story
INDOOR DOG, EXPERIENCED OWNER, WHO CAN GIVE HIM LOTS OF DAILY EXERCISE AND TRAINING. Astro was adopted out at 6 months by me but he was kenneled most of the day and did not receive daily walks. I took him back because the man was overwhelmed with his own biss and two kids. Astro was neglected, but he is still a very sweet dog super cuddly. Astro NEEDS a lot of exercise daily and a lot of socialization, he barks at people and gets scared easily. I do not ask for an adoption fee but I ask for pictures and updates to make sure he is happy. I will take him back if it is not a good fit. I do not abuse the update and picture request, I would have known Astro was kenneled so much if I was more involved but I don't want to be a co owner I just want him in a loving home who can give him the exercise and training he needs.
