Story
Hi, I’m Kabru! I’m a 3-year-old, 73-pound German Shepherd mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. My journey started at Pasadena Humane as part of a fire relief effort before I made my way to TAP. I spent about three months in the shelter before getting my second chance, and now I’m ready to find my forever home! I’m a lovable, high-energy goofball who’s always ready for fun! I’m smart, affectionate, and love being the center of attention—but I’ll admit, I can be a little mischievous too (in the most charming way, of course). I thrive in an active home that keeps me engaged, and while I sometimes struggle with focus and have a little separation anxiety, I have so much potential! I’d do great with structure, training, and even a job to keep me busy. Whether it’s a long hike, a trip to the brewery, or an evening walk by the bay, I’m always up for an adventure! I’m already crate, leash, and potty trained, though I’m still working on getting even better on leash. Some of my favorite things? Kongs, tug-of-war, and long sniffy walks! I’m looking for an active family who has the time and patience to help me grow into the best companion I can be. I’d love a home with older kids and larger dog friends who can keep up with my energy and help show me how to be a polite gentleman. With the right guidance and plenty of playtime, I know I’ll make an amazing adventure buddy and loyal best friend. Could that be you? My adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/ ##2276548##

Story
Kona is a sweet, smart, healthy, and athletic girl. I adopted her in 2016 and at the time, the vet said was 2-3 years old. I was single then and had lots of time time to spend with her. I’m now married with two small children, a full time job (active duty military) and a husband who deploys regularly. I can no longer give Kona the get the exercise or attention she deserves and she is home alone all day which causes her anxiety. It pains me to have to look for a better home for her, but the circumstances of my life aren’t fair to her. I’m hoping to find someone who can love her and give her the attention she deserves.

Story
I am a gentle giant and also a big scaredy cat!  I was humanely trapped after months or years (no one knows) surviving on my own sneaking into a wilderness camp finding scraps and running from people.  Once caught I was placed in multiple homes (by the shelter), lost by all of them and then returned.  No one understood my need to feel safe first and fear of people of any kind.  My last placement led me here when no one could catch me.  After my third capture I  got what I learned TO LOVE.  I now welcome treats, affection, human interaction and love my dog friends.   I thrive with an outgoing dog.  When I attend events or pack walks I immediately make my fur friends my pack and need them close.  I transiftion well from one dog friend to another but will need a Solid FOREVER Soulmate owner.  It's taken me a long time to gain trust, find my love for people and affection so this change for me needs to be once.  When I know you're safe you are MY solid and I will spend all my time wanting to be with you. I LOVE walking on a leash.  Despite my enormitiy I am a mouse on the line (unless something scares me).  I am ready to retire and become someone's forever.  It's important that my new home be prepared to be patient, let me get to know them, love me until I do and keep me safe with no new changes.  It's a big ask but certainly someone out there has a dog needing a friend and a permanent plan that does not involve moves or a need to change once I move in.  Some things to know about me-noise sensitive (loud noises, squeak toys)-has no idea how large he is and wants to curl in your lap-doesn’t like his feet touched and will avoid it at all cost-loves to share his toys and crate space with his friends-watches other dogs in his run to see how brave he needs to be with new people-food motivated-not overly destructive with his toys (or if he is, he blames it on the other dogs )-walks really well on leash-Prefers to be a “homebody”.   Flight Risk: do not leave unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures. Story
Are you looking for an easy dog? I am your guy!! I'm 40lbs so I'm just the right size to be a lap dog! Really, I am! I am enthusiastically loving! I can also pretend to be independent if you are too busy for me. I'm used to being ignored, but I would much rather be someone's super-best-buddy! If you need a buddy for emotional support, you will love my sweet and cuddly nature. I am also VERY quiet but, I will bark if strangers come to the door or linger by the yard, but other than that, and one "Whooohooo" around dinner time, I am silent. I walk nicely on a leash and I will sit for pets. I love to take long walks but if we only took short walks or If I only got to run in the yard, that would be fine, too. I like to be outside a lot, so I prefer a home with a yard. I am completely fine being outdoors 24/7 when the weather is nice, so long as I have a nice bed, clean water, shade, sunshine, and some playtime with other dogs or my best human buddy. I am a good boy and deserve a good life. Please take me home and be my keeper. I promise you'll not find a more appreciative dog. I came from a life of awful neglect and abuse so I don't need much to be happy. I eat a raw diet. I would love to be adopted by someone who embraces a holistic lifestyle that includes a raw or homemade diet, but this is not a requirement. I can be slowly transitioned to a high-quality dry food once the adoption is final. I have health insurance with no pre-existing conditions and I am perfectly healthy! Adoption requirements: Homeowners' insurance that allows German Shepherd mixes A secure yard No pets under 25lbs unless adopter will keep them separate when unsupervised

Story
Samson reporting for fun and play and cuddles! Hi, I’m Samson! I’m an 8-year-old Belgian Malinois and I weigh 70 lbs of pure love and energy! I used to work as a drug detection dog for the Border Patrol. I was abandoned and found on Animal Farm Refugee property. You'd think that with my status and work I should have been treated better, right?! Anyways, TAP for the rescue! I am at an amazing foster home now. I am fully bathroom and leash trained. Being a working dog, I have got a LOT of drive. These days, I’m living life as the goofiest, most loyal companion you could ask for. I’m super sweet, very high energy, and I absolutely love to play fetch, run, and cuddle! I’m also a big fan of the hose – water is so much fun! I’ve got a soft spot for people and love being around them – I’m the definition of a "velcro dog." If you’re doing something, I want to be right there with you. I’m pretty smart too, so you’ll never be bored with me around. But, I have to admit, I can get a little anxious when I’m left alone. It’s a bit tough for me with separation anxiety, especially when I’m in a crate. I’ll cry and bark until you come back, so I’d really need someone who can be home with me a lot. I’m also not a big fan of small spaces (they scare me a bit), and I don’t always know my own size, so older kids would be best for me. I’m still figuring out how I feel about other dogs, but if I get along with another dog, it’d need to be one who’s calm and not too dominant. I’d probably do best in a home without stairs because my hips can bother me when I have to climb them. I love to be active, so if you’re someone who likes to run or go on adventures, I’ll be your perfect partner! But don’t let my past as a working dog fool you – I’m all about cuddles and affection too. I’ll give you my heart and loyalty every day, and I’ll make you laugh with my funny antics. If you’ve got the time and space to keep up with me, I promise I’ll be your best friend forever! My adoption fee is $150 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/ ##2242324##

Story
Meet beautiful Molly. She was found in the middle of nowhere, in the bones, and with too much fear, she tried to bite us until she could understand that we were not going to hurt her, we just wanted to help her, and she got on her belly, letting me know that she trusted me. She is a really sweet, intelligent, loving dog, she has too much love to give, and she needs to receive even more. She is a very loyal dog, and tends to dance with her front paws when she gets excited. She gets excited when she goes for a walk, she likes to see new places and sometimes she is a little shy at first with strangers but she understands quickly when people don't want to hurt her. On the contrary when she knows that people are a threat to her or to you, she is very protective. She gets along well with very few male dogs, she is dominant and does not usually play with other dogs, but she gets along very well with adults and children, she would be ideal for a family with small children, she knows how to measure her strength, and she is not at all rude with babies. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date.
