Story
Monty is a 15 month old German Shepherd who loves beach days and cuddles on the couch. He starts off a little shy, but with a little time and patience he opens up to be a playful, silly, and loving dog. He travels well in the car and has been very adaptable when his surroundings have changed. Monty learns quickly and enjoys his training sessions. I took him in when his owner, a close friend, suddenly passed away. However, I already have a Belgian Malinois and my situation has changed so that I can no longer give both young dogs the individual attention they both need to thrive. Monty would do very well with someone with experience in GSDs who also enjoys consistency. He gets along well with his current canine housemate, although we are experiencing reactivity with unknown dogs. However, he has been responding well to exposure training and has noticeably improved with it.

Story
Hi there!  My name is Bella and I'm a 9-year old, spayed German Shepherd that currently weighs about 65lbs.  I'm a sweetheart that's looking for a forever home! Don't let my 'old age' fool you, I'm still a spunky girl who loves to run! I am great at doing zoomies and I will slide in for belly rubs! I'm a smart cookie that enjoys working on my training, especially if you have some nice treats to offer. I love to hang out and chew on my toys once I've gotten some energy out by playing fetch. I prefer human attention over dog friends but I've been able to coexist with neutral/mellow dogs. I may be a senior but I'm still a spry active lady and would do best in a home with doggy savvy kids. For more information, just ask Customer Service about Bella!  ID# A924534Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010. Story
FOSTER CARE! Hello, my name is Kurlys!  I'm a 1 and a half year old, neutered male, German Shepherd, Alaskan Malamute mix that currently weighs about 80lbs.  I'm still a growing boy so I'll do best with a family that is prepared for a very large dog. I'm a curious boy that loves human attention and can't wait to make new friends.  If you have a resident dog, please make sure we have a chance to say hello before adding me to your family. I still have a lot to learn so I'm hoping for a family that is prepared to continue my training and give me lots of exercise! I'm a good boy who already know sit, down and shake (both front paws). I get a little bit stressed when I'm left alone so I would do best with a family that understands I need a little extra attention. For more information about me, just ask Customer Service about Kurlys! ID# A940881 My foster family thinks that I am the bees knees! Here's what they had to say: 'Kurlys is doing great! He's a bit scared of busy areas but he does great on walks around quiet neighborhoods. When he plays with other dogs, he's pretty gentle. He is learning to be alone at home and doing fine for up to an hour.' Since I’m not at the adoption center, you can make arrangements to meet me by emailing behavior@phs-spca.org You may also submit your fully completed Adoption Profile Form to behavior@phs-spca.org and a staff member will call you to conduct a phone interview before making an appointment to meet me in person. You must be 18 or older to submit a profile.  Application: https://phs-spca.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AdoptionProfiles_dog2023_fillin.pdf *The application may not work on mobile devices and iPads. Story
Nala is a very sensitive and calm dog. Unforeseen health concerns have forced me to be stuck in a toxic and unhealthy living situation with a family member and, although I would prefer to not rehome Nala, I want to get her out of this situation and into a safer living arrangement. She is very active and loves to play fetch, among other playful/active pursuits. My ideal owner/home for Nala would be with someone who lives an active lifestyle and can give Nala the exercise and play that she needs. My health concerns have reduced my ability to care for Nala which has impacted my desire to work more on training (her main issue is off-leash recall) as well as get her out into the world more often to explore and experience new environments as well as have other canine friends she can meet and socialize with on a regular basis. Nala is super easy going and has never presented any problems when it comes to bathing and caring for her. I have more to say but had to edit down for word count limit.
