Story
Hey, nice to meet you! I’m Tali Ray. I’m a 2yo female GSD and my volunteers tell me my calm and regal demeanor is most befitting of a Queen! I love meeting new people and most times prefer people and snuggles over playing with toys or treats. Tell me I’m a good girl and give me love and I am all yours! My volunteers tell me I have excellent leash manners and I know my basic commands. Like the Queen I am, I accept my treats with grace and ever so gently. I am housed with another dog, so with a slow and proper introduction, I am definitely dog-friendly. Because I am mellow and gentle, I will likely do well wins family with children. CHECK OUT MY VIDEO and please come meet me!

Story
Chamoy has the cutest large ears that she has pointing straight up most of the time! She is a very timid, quiet, sweet girl who would do best with a family who has a fenced in back yard with a place she could relax. She is extremely hesitant when it comes to going inside (may take a lot of coaxing and a lot of patience to get her comfortable with coming in), does not get on furniture, and is most comfortable once she is free to roam outside. Once she’s in her comfortable space outside, she is very loving and encourages tons of pets along with neck scratches. If she wants you to pet her, she will come up to you and give you the softest nudge with her nose. She is fully potty trained, so gentle when taking treats, seems to feel safe in a crate, and is extremely well behaved. We gave her a bath the first day we got her and while it was a struggle to get her in the tub, she stood as still as a statue while being bathed. She is not vocal at all and has not barked at other dogs when they bark at her. She is currently not scheduled to be spayed until 2025 but if she sounds like the type of dog you’re looking for, please don’t hesitate to fill out an adoption application so you can meet her while she is at her foster home! If you meet her and think you’re her perfect forever home, we will work with you on what steps are needed to be done before you can officially become her forever family!

Story
FBI Agent got to go on a doggie day out adventure on Saturday January 11th! His 2 volunteers took him to the Davis Arboretum for a 4 mile walk and then out to a coffee shop! They said he is he is also SUPER food motivated and he knows how to sit! They said that he is the absolute sweetest around humans and is non reactive to dogs. FBI Agent has also done well around other dogs at the shelter so with a proper introduction he may do well with another dog in the home. They mentioned that he prefers to have all his people together so he may have some separation anxiety but it’s just because he loves his people even after just a couple of hours! Please come meet FBI Agent and give him his forever home!** FBI Agent`s adoption fee has been paid for with a donation from Tim Pantle **

Story
Auggie is a nice dog, but he does not realize how big he is. When the kids are over he runs to get out the door or anywhere and knocks them down he even pushes us out the way. The little dogs bark at him sometimes he pushes them with his head again doesn’t realize how big he is and they slam against the wall. Other than that he is a good dog he just sits there or wants to play fetch, he loves the water but gets ear infections easily. Auggie is a good dog we just can’t take care of him like we can.

Story
Hello! I'm looking to rehome our sweet girl, Whiskey. She's a 5 year old German Shepherd/Border Collie mix. We unfortunately are unable to care for her anymore due to financial hardship. She's a sweet girl with lots of energy still and will do well in a home with other dogs and a big yard. She has allergies which require her to get a cytopoint injection every 2-3 months (runs about $150 each time). She is NOT spayed because she has von willebrand disease (a hereditary disorder which means her blood is difficult to clot). To get her spayed would be costly and we cant afford it. She's otherwise a sweet dog and loves to be around people. She also does well with cats.

Story
Dogs don't come any cuter than Daffodil! Daffodil is an approximately 2-year-old bundle of fun who is eager to find her forever home. She is the sweetest girl who will happily make herself comfy in your lap and cover your face in kisses. We haven't had the heart to tell her she is slightly too big to be a lap dog. Daffodil is fully grown and weighs around 60lbs (although she could benefit from losing a few pounds). Daffodil came to us after she was found as a stray. One of our foster homes agreed to take her in until an owner was found, but an owner never came forward. A couple of weeks after she was found Daffodil gave birth to 9 puppies! All of her puppies have been adopted, so now it's her turn! Daffodil is a wiggly goofball and loves to explore and go on adventures. Now that she doesn't have to care for her babies she is ready to enjoy life and soak up all the human attention for herself. Daffodil has been doing great learning her basic manners and has learned "sit". She is very food-motivated, which makes training a blast. Her new family will need to be prepared to dedicate the time to continue to work on her basic manners to help her be the best girl she can be. Daffodil would do best with someone who has large dog experience as she is a strong and enthusiastic girl. Daffodil is a moderate-energy gal. When she's at home, she is happy to chill on the couch and enjoy movie marathons, but she also has the energy for long walks and hikes. She loves car rides and hops right in and is ready to go. She loves making new human friends and has been a popular girl at our adoption events. She is quick to walk to cover your face in kisses and lean into you for a hug. She oozes happiness and can't wait to find her fur-ever family! Daffodil has done well living with other dogs but also would thrive as your one and only canine companion. She does best with dogs around her size as she is a wrestle-mania type of girl and would likely be too much for a small dog. She needs a kitty-free home. Due to her rambunctious nature, Daffodil would do best with an adult-only home or with kids 12 years or older. Daffodil has been doing very well with her house and crate training. She sleeps through the night in her crate and has done well hanging out in there when her foster mom is at work or gone for a few hours. Daffodil is such a sweet girl and she deserves her happy-ever-after. If you think that might be with you, submit an adoption application today!   Daffodil's adoption fee is $250.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. Story
It's pretty impossible not to fall under Fidel's love spell! Fidel is about 3 months old and is the cutest little boy around. He is an adventurous guy eager for fun. He is looking for an active family who can make sure to keep his busy mind and body happy with lots of enrichment and adventures. Fidel weighs about 17lbs now and we estimate he will be at least 60lbs when fully grown. Fidel came to us with his sister and four brothers from a family in rural Yolo County. The family didn't plan on having the litter and rather than sending them to the shelter, we were able to place the kiddos in foster homes until they are adopted. These kiddos need individual homes with large dog-savvy families who are equipped to take on smart cookies. Fidel is the ringleader of the group . He is the first to explore new things and the first to give you his attention when the treats come out. He loves to learn and figure things out and would thrive with a family who wants a dog to teach lots of tricks.  He has been doing great learning his basic manners and needs a family dedicated to continuing his training and socialization to help him be the best boy he can be. He would be a great candidate for group puppy classes. Fidel has done well meeting new dogs and would love a playful dog in his new home to help mentor him. He could also do well as an only dog with lots of opportunities to socialize with dog friends. Fidel has done well meeting cats and could do well living with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Fidel could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 12 years or older. Fidel has been doing well with his housetraining, but he still learning and needs a family who can be patient with him while he is learning and continue to be consistent with his training. He has done well being left alone in a pen and is doing well being crated overnight. He hasn't spent too much time completely alone and would do best with a family who has a schedule that will allow them to slowly acclimate him to being home alone. Fidel is such a handsome little man and he can't wait to meet his fur-ever family. If you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today!   Fidel 's adoption fee is $350.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. Story
Hello! My ex-wife and I adopted Brisket from Front Street Animal Shelter in Sacramento when she was under a year old. She's 5 now and the shelter believes she's a Dutch Shepherd mix. She's fully house-trained, has never had an accident, and doesn’t destroy anything except her toys. Brisket is generally good with people but can get anxious in loud environments (parties, live music, construction) and has nipped at someone before. She barks at outside noises or deliveries with a deep bark, but stops after a few seconds. At home, she’s okay with other dogs as long as they don’t bother her; if they do, she’ll growl or slap them. She also has some leash aggression when approaching other dogs during walks. Brisket is very loving but has always been a bit fearful, though she’s improved over time. She’d likely do best in a calm home with someone who enjoys playing and cuddling.

Story
We initially got Laika as a foster, but she was so wonderful we ended up adopting her after her spay. We have two cats in the house and we were hopeful that if we continued slow introductions they might end up getting along. Unfortunately, even after working with a trainer and a behavioralist Laika is too fixated on chasing cats to live safely in a house with them. She also has some reactivity to other dogs and unfamiliar men but has done great with visitors in the house. This is something she will need continued work on. She did live with another dog in the shelter so may do okay with the right dog sibling. Laika is a fantastic dog and we would not have put so much time into trying to make things work otherwise. She is house broken and we are able to leave her loose while at work. She is loving, whip-smart (with a repertoire of 10 commands so far), and very eager to please. She is relaxed for a Malinois but would still do best with an active family and a fenced yard.
