Meet Darla! This sweet girl has not had it easy in her two years of life and it shows. She could use some TLC. Despite whatever she has been through she is so gentle and kind and loves belly rubs. I had to sit with her to get her leashed up and the tightening of the leash made her whimper and a little fearful. She let me carry her and when introduced to another dog she really came out of her shell! She could definitely have some fur siblings. She deserves a home to unwind in and to be shown she is loved.

So nice to meet you - I`m Pango, a 1.5yo female Gerberian Shepsky. Yep, you read that right - I am what my volunteers swear is a German Shepherd/Siberian Husky mix. Imagine a fluffy, playful pup with the loyalty of a shepherd. I`m an adorable girl with ears that are perky and alert, and my wagging tail seems to have a personality of its own. I currently am housed with my friend, Luffy, and we get along just great. This shows that with a proper introduction, I will likely get along with any resident dogs you may already have. I know my basic commands and walk well on the leash. Please come meet me - I promise, I am worth it!

Chamoy has the cutest large ears that she has pointing straight up most of the time! She is a very timid, quiet, sweet girl who would do best with a family who has a fenced in back yard with a place she could relax. She is extremely hesitant when it comes to going inside (may take a lot of coaxing and a lot of patience to get her comfortable with coming in), does not get on furniture, and is most comfortable once she is free to roam outside. Once she’s in her comfortable space outside, she is very loving and encourages tons of pets along with neck scratches. If she wants you to pet her, she will come up to you and give you the softest nudge with her nose. She is fully potty trained, so gentle when taking treats, seems to feel safe in a crate, and is extremely well behaved. We gave her a bath the first day we got her and while it was a struggle to get her in the tub, she stood as still as a statue while being bathed. She is not vocal at all and has not barked at other dogs when they bark at her. She is currently not scheduled to be spayed until 2025 but if she sounds like the type of dog you’re looking for, please don’t hesitate to fill out an adoption application so you can meet her while she is at her foster home! If you meet her and think you’re her perfect forever home, we will work with you on what steps are needed to be done before you can officially become her forever family!

We adopted Maverick from SPCA when he was 2 months old. He is now 1 year, 11months and will turn 2 years old on 12/12/2024. We are looking for Maverick to have the space he deserves. He is energetic, loves to run, and play with soccer balls. He enjoys baths and going to the dog parks to chase all the other dogs. He is not aggressive, but is playful and waits for any dog to match his love to run and play. When he is inside, he loves to nap under the bed or near the heater. He is crate trained and house trained, with no accidents inside. He is not a barker, will only bark when necessary. He is great around kids of all ages from 1 year old to 10 years old, he has experience with kids and loves to be pet by them.

Auggie is a nice dog, but he does not realize how big he is. When the kids are over he runs to get out the door or anywhere and knocks them down he even pushes us out the way. The little dogs bark at him sometimes he pushes them with his head again doesn’t realize how big he is and they slam against the wall. Other than that he is a good dog he just sits there or wants to play fetch, he loves the water but gets ear infections easily. Auggie is a good dog we just can’t take care of him like we can.

Hachi is a German Shepard/Jack Russell mix. He was given to us by an old neighbor and we are currently fostering him until he can find a new home. Hachi is an outdoor dog that is playful, rambunctious, and adventurous. Hachi is around one years old, estimated birth is November 2023. He is very sweet and loyal, gets along well with our small and big dogs, as well as the small kids in our family. He would do well with a family that has another dog for him to play with or provide him with lots affection for his continuous growth.

Dogs don't come any cuter than Daffodil! Daffodil is an approximately 2-year-old bundle of fun who is eager to find her forever home. She is the sweetest girl who will happily make herself comfy in your lap and cover your face in kisses. We haven't had the heart to tell her she is slightly too big to be a lap dog. Daffodil is fully grown and weighs around 60lbs (although she could benefit from losing a few pounds). Daffodil came to us after she was found as a stray. One of our foster homes agreed to take her in until an owner was found, but an owner never came forward. A couple of weeks after she was found Daffodil gave birth to 9 puppies! All of her puppies have been adopted, so now it's her turn! Daffodil is a wiggly goofball and loves to explore and go on adventures. Now that she doesn't have to care for her babies she is ready to enjoy life and soak up all the human attention for herself. Daffodil has been doing great learning her basic manners and has learned "sit". She is very food-motivated, which makes training a blast. Her new family will need to be prepared to dedicate the time to continue to work on her basic manners to help her be the best girl she can be. Daffodil would do best with someone who has large dog experience as she is a strong and enthusiastic girl. Daffodil has done well living with other dogs but also would thrive as your one and only canine companion. She does best with dogs around her size as she is a wrestle-mania type of girl and would likely be too much for a small dog. She needs a kitty-free home. Due to her rambunctious nature, Daffodil would do best with an adult-only home or with kids 12 years or older. Daffodil has been doing very well with her house and crate training. She sleeps through the night in her crate and has done well hanging out in there when home alone.  Daffodil is such a sweet girl and she deserves her happy-ever-after. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. Starla went on a doggie day out adventure on 11/30, here is what her volunteer had to say: `Starla is the SWEETEST dog ever. She walk well on a leash -no pulling.She met a few people and she loved everyone.We saw some dogs she wanted to be friends with everyone.She saw some geese and squirrels with no reaction, just curious.When I gave her treats she took them out of my hand so gently.She is great in the car.She was pure delight. We went for a walk near the river.We went to In and Out burger for lunch and walked through the park so people could meet her. Sweetest dog ever!! I can`t say one negative thing about her!!!!!

Zoe is 1 year old Belgian malinois female. She is very good with kids (grew up with 4 little children (from 1 year old to 9 year old). Friendly and is very eager to please. She is potty trained and crate trained. She knows many commands (lay, sit, spin, roll, fatch, drop it, jump, wait, heel, etc.). Also worked with a professional trainer between the age of 3 months and 7 months). Worked on not pulling the leash when walking and not barking at othet dogs. She never bit or attack anyone. Unfortunately, our life changed a bit, my husband's schedule is busy, I am expecting our 5th baby and it has been very hard to find any time to give her enough attention. We enjoyed her immensely, and would love for her to find an owner who can give her a loving home, enough attention and keep on training her things, because she is one smart cookie! 🫶
