Story
FOSTER CARE! Hi there, I'm Zero! I'm a 5 month old, neutered male German Shepherd/Husky mix that currently weighs 26lbs. but I'm still growing and could be around 60-70lbs. when I'm and adult. I'm a sweet and energetic little puppy that loves attention and snacks. I'm super playful and ready to learn, which is perfect because I have lots of learning to do with a family familiar with working breeds who is ready to provide lots of exercise, training, socialization, and love!   Zero ID#A954079 From my foster home: I'm doing great! I love playing with my foster sister, a Mini-Aussie, and though I'm curious about the resident cat, I'm keeping a respectful distance from him since he doesn't want to play. My fosters say I'm wonderful on walks and very smart! I also live with a 9 year old (human) and I've been really gentle with her! I went to Fort Funston and loved walking on the beach! I do really well in the car, no whining or complaining from me More big news: I've been an absolute star with housetraining. My foster mom says I'm fully potty trained, and I'll use my doggy door or sit by the front door when I need to use the restroom. I also know sit and lie down, and I'm learning 'off.' Since I’m not at the adoption center, you can make arrangements to meet me by emailing your fully completed Adoption Profile Form to behavior@phs-spca.org and a staff member will call you to conduct a phone interview before making an appointment to meet me in person. You must be 18 or older to submit a profile.  Application: https://phs-spca.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AdoptionProfiles_dog2023_fillin.pdf *The application may not work on mobile devices and iPads. Please call (650) 340-7022 for assistance.Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Drop-In hours for Same Day Adoptions are 11 am – 5 pm, 7 days a week (closed major holidays). We do our best to update our listings regularly, but we can’t guarantee every animal you see is still available. Story
Nala is a very sensitive and calm dog. Unforeseen health concerns have forced me to be stuck in a toxic and unhealthy living situation with a family member and, although I would prefer to not rehome Nala, I want to get her out of this situation and into a safer living arrangement. She is very active and loves to play fetch, among other playful/active pursuits. My ideal owner/home for Nala would be with someone who lives an active lifestyle and can give Nala the exercise and play that she needs. My health concerns have reduced my ability to care for Nala which has impacted my desire to work more on training (her main issue is off-leash recall) as well as get her out into the world more often to explore and experience new environments as well as have other canine friends she can meet and socialize with on a regular basis. Nala is super easy going and has never presented any problems when it comes to bathing and caring for her. I have more to say but had to edit down for word count limit.

Story
I adopted Cooper in 2020 from the SPCA when they estimated him to be 2 yrs old. Cooper is a lover with anyone he knows and trusts but has severe anxiety issues and fear based reactivity on leash. He is very protective of his loved ones which is both a benefit and a challenge at times. He loves cuddling and wearing sweaters and overall is not a high energy dog. He is also very smart and strong headed like most shepherds. Cooper needs routine and predictability which has made city life very challenging for him. He gets along well, even sometimes great with some dogs and with others he really struggles. He has not spent much time around kids but I would not recommend it without experienced knowledge of dog reactivity. Absolutely no cats. I'd love to see him find a home that can stimulate his drive to work

Story
Adoptable Dog Ringo: Mostly Dog with a Splash of Polar Bear Meet Ringo! Found running skinny, scared and stray by a good samaritan, Ringo was taken to PHS in hopes our local humane society would help find him the family whose home he is going to brighten immensely. Unfortunately the only service PHS was willing to provide was euthanasia, so PACC stepped in. While PHS was "unable to introduce Ringo to even one dog due to aggression and resource guarding", neither of which he has, Ringo was running with PACC's pack the moment he met them. This guy is super pro-social and LOVES his dog buddies. We are looking for a home with other medium to large dogs for Ringo to romp with. If you have a high energy pup you'd like to run the battery down on, Ringo would be an excellent pick. He just can't say no to playing and he's got the genes and stamina to keep on playing, for as long as needed. Our boy's stats: ~2 yrs old, large, 85 lb, neutered male, up to date on vax and microchipped. As far as his lineage goes - go ahead and make yourself a cup of coffee/tea cause his DNA results take some time to plow through...here we go: 45% German Shepherd Dog, 17% Siberian Husky, 7% Chow Chow, 3% Australian Shepherd, 2% Australian Cattle Dog, 2% White Swiss Shepherd, 5% American Pit Bull Terrier, 4% Samoyed, 3% Akita...wait, we're not done yet... 3% Doberman Pinscher, 2% Rottweiler, 2% American Staffordshire Terrier...we definitely got our money's worth on this guy's DNA test...3% Labrador Retriever and 2% Catahoula Leopard Dog. Whew!! If you read all that you get your personal equivalent of a gold star. Ringo is big, super sweet, as affectionate as they come and goofy as all get out. Plus he's just a pleasure to look at. He does have what we call separation anxiety - so all you introverted home bodies who feel guilty for not being more social and outgoing - this guy prefers your type. No more social stigma for wanting to stay at home, Ringo will stay with you! That said, when in the company of another dog(s), and you leave him, he lets out a coupla of weird "I'm gonna die" sounds and then just resigns himself to awaiting your return. He is easy peasy to walk on leash - no rotator cuff injuries with this guy - he's a little nervous out and about, likes to stick close by and the upside of that is that he does not pull. Ringo's signature move is sometimes, but not always, stirring his water with his paws before he drinks. Maybe the good stuff is at the bottom? PACC is looking for a moderately active, homebody type family where Ringo will not be left for long hours alone and a solidly (high) fenced yard for him to play and do his business in. The more medium to large dogs the merrier, as he does like his frens. Children in the home should be 10+ because little humans take time, dogs take time and few families have time for both. Ringo has not been around cats so we prefer a home without our feline friends to avoid wasting everyone's time should he be too interested in them, and lastly a family that would like to turn up the joy factor in the home and the beauty aesthetic by having this lovely creature roaming the house. If Ringo sounds like a good fit with your situation, COPY AND PASTE THE APPLICATION LINK BELOW INTO YOUR BROWSER and we will be in touch once received! https://forms.gle/fEjKqre4rGP6bZCd8
