Story
My name is WALKER (DOB 3.22.2019).  If you are looking for a dog that loves to exercise, go on hikes, watch you do homework, protect your family and home, as well as your coworker, that is ME. I'm extremely smart.  I'm always happy. Once I see a visitor that shows me attention and love, from there I don't take my eyes off of them. A couple details about me:  1) Yes I'm very big, 90 pounds  but don't let that intimidate you 2) I can be skittish at first but then I'll warm up very quickly  3) Unique traits: I believe I am a pure bred German Shepherd and one of my ears is flopped down for life due to damage caused by the hematoma I had on that ear. When I was found, I had a very bad ear infection and because of all the head shaking, that hematoma formed, which now causes that ear to be prone to ear infection.  4) I'm neutered and I'm up to date on vaccinations  5) I have a high prey drive with cats but they think I would do great in a home with medium to large dogs. Meet and greet would be great!!  6) I'm okay with children but with proper supervision due to my size   And side note I'm very calm when I get put back in my kennel. I just want to please and I'm very polite when I walk by other dogs.  November 6, 2024, 11:54 pm

Story
My name is Mary and I have a very sad story.  The owner I had, recently passed away and my 4 friends and I have nowhere to go.  The shelters are too full and I’d get euthanized right away, so a friend of my owner, took us in.  However, he already has a bunch of dogs he’s saved and my friends and I need to find a permanent home.  This is what my temp dad said about me:  Mary is great with other dogs.  She loves to play fetch, she doesn’t act her age, and swim.  She gets along with children of all ages.  Please give this great dog a chance.       Apply to adopt by clicking on the link below http://www.wagsandwhiskerspetrescue.com/adopt.html Thank you so much for looking into wags and whiskers for your next family member. All of our pets are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested if over 6 months old and will be spayed or neutered before being allowed to go home.  Unfortunately, we don't always know the background of each dog. Some were dumped, abandoned in an empty house, left tied to a tree, picked up by animal control as strays, or simply unwanted by their owners. Please take into consideration that owning a pet is a 10+ year commitment and discuss with all members of your family before submitting an application to adopt.  If you have already filled out an online adoption application with our organization in the last 6 months you do not need to fill out another application. Please call or email us to schedule an appointment.  530-895-8888 If you are interested in meeting this pet please apply to adopt at http://www.wagsandwhiskerspetrescue.com/adopt.html if the pet is still available for adoption and you are approved to adopt we will contact you to set up a meet and greet appointment.    November 6, 2024, 11:54 pm

Story
Nyah is a sweet senior girl who deserves a second chance at life. She can be a bit shy at first, but she really wants to be loved. Nyah knows how to sit, lay down, and shake. This sweet girl is full of surprises, in a good way. Nyah likes to play with balls, with occasional treat breaks, of course. The thing she loves the most is being brushed. She would be content to just lay there and be brushed for hours on end.  Will you open your heart and home and give this sweet senior girl a home. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143‍November 7, 2024, 10:38 pm
