BONDED MOTHER AND DAUGHTER PAIR: MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER.Say hello to mother/daughter duo Sasha (brunette, younger) and Mila (blonde, older). These gorgeous Shepherds are a bonded pair and ton of fun. Two volunteers took them out for a day hike in Griffith Park and everyone had a fantastic time!!! Mila likes to lead the pack when do our Happy Tails group hikes, so when other dogs came near, she wanted to follow them so she could take the lead. (Nothing aggressive, she just wants to be in front.) We distracted her with some treats and she quickly became more interested in snacking than leading. Sasha was a true mama`s girl. She stayed close by Mila and was very good with other dogs. Mila and Sasha *loved* relaxing on the grass, and the crows in the trees were especially fascinating to Mila. They were both very alert to people and other dogs walking around, but were very well behaved. They also went to Starbucks for their first puppuccino and boy did they love it!Mila and Sasha are very smart and food motivated so training will be easy. Their adoption comes with a free month of training from GoodPup.com to ease them into her new home and help them bond with their new family.Their Shepard nature means they want to be where you are and make your life fun and interesting. Yes- 2 big dogs is a lot of dog, but this bonded pair is so in sync that its not overwhelming. They are a source of laughter and playfulness and activity- all they want from you is a safe space, consistency, love and regular long walks/hikes/play sessions. If you can offer that and are ready to vacuum a lot (it’s a lot of fur- we won’t lie) then this dynamic duo is ready for you.

Arthur is a beutiful and gentle boy who is looking for an experienced adopter. He is a sweet boy once he gets to know you, can be guarded and shy at first and get reactive, but very loyal and loving once he is comfortable with you. He would be a great hiking or running partner, or even just a walking companion. Will need some basic training that he should learn quickly, because he is super smart and wants to please. Best in a home with no small kids.

Story
Say hello to Captain, a 2 year old male German Shepherd. When we take him out to the play yard, the boy likes to show off his talents. Toss a ball and he will retrieve it and drop it at your feet. He can catch the ball midair too. He knows several common obedience commands like, sit and stay.Captain is very playful, and being only 2 yrs old, he has plenty of puppy-like enthusiasm to share. His coat is rich and thick so be prepared to thoroughly brush him a few times a week. He likes it, and it`s a great bonding time too! Captain would love to be your new best pal. Come meet him and make him your new fur baby.?? **Adopt Captain!** ??From Captain`s Hiking Volunteer:Meet **Captain**, a 2.5-year-old German Shepherd looking for his forever home at the Burbank Animal Shelter! ?? This handsome boy is as sweet as they come—he loves people, is friendly to everyone he meets, and is a fantastic companion for car rides. ?? Whether you`re headed to the park or just cruising around town, Captain will be right by your side, happy and calm.Captain is also a leash-walking pro! ?? He enjoys his walks and would love an active owner who can give him plenty of exercise and adventure. However, Captain prefers to be the only dog in the household and is best suited for a home where he can be the center of attention and showered with love!If you’re looking for a loyal, loving dog to make your days brighter, Captain is your guy! ???? **Location**: Burbank Animal Shelter ?? **Breed**: German Shepherd ??? **Age**: 2.5 years ?? **Ideal Home**: One-pet household ?? **Great With People**: Yes! The day hike with Captain was great. He hopped in the car easy and was a great passenger. We walked to get coffee and then hung out in the backyard. He loves getting sprayed with water, being brushed, and chasing the ball. He was great with my two kids. We then ran some errands and went on another walk before heading back to the shelter. He is strong and pulls on the leash, but he seems very eager to please so I bet just a little bit of training would help him alot.

Story
Say hello to this beautiful bonded duo! A volunteer spent time with them and had this to say: `They don’t currently have names, so as always, I started calling them names I made up. The smoother coated mixed breed was “Boots” and the husky was “Sneaker”. Not intentionally shoe themed, but there it is. These 2 stunners are super sweet, in need of a spa day to get those winter sheds handled, and pretty chill when we hung out. Boots is the braver of the 2- coming up to me immediately and bring super curious and trying to hog all the pets being offered. Sneaker is way more shy, slower to warm up and content to hang back a little and just get her measure of me. Once we were hanging out for a bit they both determined I was pretty nice and knew all the good places to scritch and even had a pocket full of treats. We were limited in space, so I didn’t get to see them play or cut loose, how they behave on leash or around other dogs- maybe next time we will. I can say they were very gentle with me, even when pushing each other around. Not particularly reactive to the noise and movement going on around us. I was expecting to get pummeled by young playful dogs but they were very kind and polite. I was honored when Sneaker decided I could give pets and even a kiss on the head- since she’s so shy. We went slow and I had her smiling by the end. They’re really a lovely fluffy duo of ladies that would make for a great family completing pair.` Come to the Burbank Animal Shelter to foster or adopt Boots (A127648) and Sneaker (A127649)

Togo is a very smart dog. He loves to go for runs and play with tennis balls. He’s really good at catch. He knows how to give paw, sit, lay down (even with just signaling him). He still jumps on others when he gets excited and likes to bark at cats, squirrels or any animal he can see. He is very protective when he sees something suspicious so we always take him to meet visitors before they come in the house. He needs lots of training being on the leash and around other dogs. Togo is a very strong dog, so my husband always walks him. If you have any questions about Togo, please let me know !

Story
This ridiculous litter of fluff balls was rescued with mom Zelda (last pic) from a machine shop in the middle of nowhere in the agricultural lands of Bakersfield. Mom was pretty drained from nursing, but she did a fantastic job. The puppies are happy healthy and playful. They were born 9/26/24. Mom weighs around 62 pounds. She has an amazing temperament and is extremely sweet. We are guesstimating the puppies to be in the 60-70 pound range. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Please direct all questions to adopt@crdogrescue.com. All our dogs can be met with an approved application. Thank you for looking at a rescue dog for your next family member.

These pups are in Burbank, California too!

Story
Valentine is a very sweet, loving, girl once she trusts you. She is highly active and will love a home where someone can run with her, hike with her, or have a marathon ball throwing session. She can be overly protective of her owner, so she will need some training once adopted and she will require someone who is capable of being able to physically handle/restrain her. She would benefit from being socialized with people and other dogs. This breed is loyal and loving and highly alert. Please do your research on the breed to ensure that she goes to a forever home. Valentine is completely different out of her kennel, so please ask to see her in the yard, you will be pleasantly surprised by how lovely she is.Valentine is NOT a dog to miss. One look in her small and expressive brown eyes, and you will see the purest thing in the world: LOVE. She’s aptly named. I recently took her on a field trip for the day, and she surprised me with how gentle and loving she can be. Folks, she’s a Belgian Malinois! A high-energy work breed. And yes, we did hike and walk and play in the park, but she was just as excited to cuddle and nap with me on the couch. And we are talking expert level of cuddling. A gently placed head on the chest, staring lovingly into your eyes. A paw wrapped around your arm. She will melt you. Simply because you can feel how genuinely she wants to be with you. Some other bonuses: she’s great on a leash and is an excellent car passenger. While she was a little nervous at first to jump in the car, she got the hang of it quickly and would spend the rides lying down - even putting her head down to sleep. She also appears to fully understand the potty rules. She had zero accidents inside and once outside, knew to go right to the grass and take care of business. In a graceful manner that would make her top of the class at the Juilliard School of Dance. Very demure. She was also very patient when I made her breakfast and would “sit” for treats. During my walks and hikes with her, she did not appear to be reactive to people or other dogs. She curiously watched a bunny cross our path, but didn’t chase. She’s also an avid tracker and enjoys time to sniff what she finds interesting. Because of her breed, size and potentially high prey drive, it would be important for all family members, furry or otherwise, to meet her. Valentine is extremely loving, but she also has some understandable anxiety, so it’s best to give her some spac
