Story
Grant came to us on March 29th, 2024 from Kern County Animal Services. This 2 year old Shepherd Mix is so much fun. Oh hi, I'm Grant. I can be a smidge leary of new people, but I can warm up to you fairly quickly. And treats help with that, just so you know. I'm just a big goofy shepherd! I love being outside and sunbathing and playing around a bit with a ball. I don't like to play fetch really, I mostly just like to play with it by myself. On occasion, I like to frolic around with the other pups, but it's typically short bursts of that, and then I go do my own thing. Sometimes I don't like going back inside, but the humans make me and I just go in and nap. I've been working on the sit and down commands along with some leashwork and it's going pretty good. I've tried place training and I quite enjoy laying on beds, so I haven't really grasped that it's actually training and not just napping. So, if you have an extra napping spot or maybe a spot in the sun, I'd love to be in it!

Story
Sex: Male Breed: German Shepherd xEstimated Date of Birth : 07/12/2019Linus is a good boy! Both dog and people friendly his happy nature is what originally caught our eye. Happy shelter dogs are typically happy dogs once they’re out of the shelter too. They’re happy to have a chance, happy to be with you and happy to be alive. Those same happy dogs do really well in our prison programs. They help the shy dogs come out of their shells and aren’t typically bothered by the noises and activity in a prison environment. So we’ve given happy Linus the chance he needed. He’s joined the crew in our Victorville woman’s program. He’ll spend the next 3 months learning the basic obedience tasks most adopters want adoptable dogs to know. He may have lingered in the shelter but Pawsitive Change will give him the skills he needs to be noticed. Sometimes that’s all these young energetic dogs need. Just enough training to change their lives for the better. Once Linus has graduated he’ll be ready for a forever home. He’ll be looking for a fun and active family and would love some canine pals too. He’ll be looking for a family that will enforce the training he’s received and he’d love a home that will keep him forever. If you’ve been looking for a happy boy Linus just might be the one for you. Story
Sex: Female Breed: German Shepherd xEstimated Date of Birth : 08/29/2021Another momma in need. We love these momma dogs. They are strong, they are survivors and their nurturing tendencies transition into their adoptive homes. They tend to bond quickly and become the protectors their family needs. They’re loyal and kind and because they’ve cared for other living souls they care deeply for their families. They have some of the biggest hearts and Opal is everything we love about a momma dog in need. This sweet girl was picked up as a stray with two tiny puppies. Puppies so tiny their eyes weren’t even open yet. We have to wonder if there had been others in the litter that didn’t survive. But Opal protected her remaining babies with her life. She needed to get them somewhere safe and lucky for her she was picked up by animal control and taken to our city shelter. Those two remaining babies probably wouldn’t have survived life on the streets. Opal and her babies were then picked up by our rescue and have thrived at our rescue ranch. Opal was an amazing and protective mother and her babies have grown into healthy and vibrant puppies now ready for adoption. With her mothering duties complete it’s time we focus on what Opal needs most…a home. She’s given of herself and she deserves to have someone give to her. Someone who will value everything she’s sacrificed and give her the family she’s never had. If you love the sweet moms as much as we do please consider giving Opal the family that she’s always dreamed of. Give Opal her home. Story
Sex: MaleBreed: German Shepherd Estimated Date of Birth : 03/01/2018Max is as big as he is stunning! He’s always been a beloved family member. He’s incredibly sweet and such a loyal boy. He loves humans of all ages and previously lived with both large and small dogs. He was very gentle with everyone. In an instant Max’s entire world changed. His human mom Jazzy, one of our long time volunteers and supporters, unexpectedly passed away. This left both Max and his buddy Sable in need of placement. We couldn’t leave our friends dogs behind so both have joined us at our rescue ranch. But here’s the thing. Our ranch is a ranch and dogs are housed in a kennel type environment with lots of outside time. Max and Sable are use to living inside a home as part of a family. They’ve already had so much loss we really would prefer if they could go in to a foster or adoptive home. We think this sort of transition would be easiest on them and what Jazzy would prefer if she was still with us. They can go into homes as a pair or separately. Max is a really good boy experiencing the loss of his home and mom. He deserves the very best chance of finding a new forever with an amazing family. Jazzy would never give up her dogs and we are dedicated to finding them the best homes and honoring everything Jazzy gave back to us. Story
Hi, my name is Oreo and I'm a 3 year old Shepard/Rott mix. I was abandoned and picked up by animal control. I barely made it out alive when a nice rescue lady saved me. I love long walks and playing with toys. I get along with dogs, cats and kids. I just want to find my forever home but I wouldn't mind a new foster with a yard I can run around in. I am neutered and UTD on all my vaccines.

Story
Sex: FemaleBreed: German Shepherd Estimated Date of Birth : 06/24/2023She was an amazing momma and she’s going to be an even more amazing family dog. Meet Shania! Calm, sweet, friendly you couldn’t ask for a better shepherd. She’s exactly what all you shepherd lovers are looking for. A fantastic well balanced dog! She adores humans and is very tolerant of other dogs. There’s not a mean bone in this pretty girls body and we can’t wait to find her the perfect home! Like so many other shepherds Shania and her 2 young babies found themselves at our county shelter. At risk because of the shear number of medium and large breeds currently lingering their only way out was through rescue. Moms with underage babies are not considered adoptable in the shelter system. They need a rescue to get them out. So thats exactly what we did and this little family has never looked back! Shania did a great job raising her babies. Both happy and social pups and now it’s her turn to find the happiness she deserves. She has a chill personality and a super affectionate nature. While not overly playful with other dogs she does great with the various energies and personalities she’s been exposed to at our ranch. She’s just a really great dog hoping for an equally great family to call her own. If you’ve been looking for a fantastic shepherd Shania is definitely one you won’t want to miss. Apply today!
