Story
Hi I’m Bo, I’m 2 years old and looking for a New Home. I’m a great well behaved loving dog. I’m calm and relaxed and love to eat. I am good with smaller dogs, I just haven’t quite adapted to bigger dogs yet like other GSD’s. I’m timid at first but once I warm up I will be the most loving and caring pet. I love to sleep and I’m kennel trained as well. I haven’t been around many pets or kids and also looking to learn how to go out on more walks. The outside world is fresh to me since I’m always around my siblings but my experience so far has been interesting and nice. My perfect family would be someone who can love me and spend time with me. I looking to find my person and my forever home. I’m not hyper active and mellow for the most part. I would love to learn new things. I will be good and love on you. Hope to see you soon!

Story
Gilly is finally ready for her new home! She is a little strong willed but she is very smart. She was picked up as a stray so we don't have any background information on her. She is probably around 3 to 4 years old. She likes to be the boss of the other dogs so she would do best if we found her a home where she is the only dog or with a submissive male. She has been very playful with the boys we have had her with but rough so she might be too much for smaller dogs. She would do best with an owner who has experience with big dogs and some training. Story
Meet Valkarie — But You Can Call Me Valorie! Hi there! I’m Valkarie—though my friends call me Valorie—and I’m here to tell you exactly why I should be your new adventure buddy, water&#226&#128&#145splashing partner, and all&#226&#128&#145around best girl. I’m about six years old, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and currently living my best temporary life at Central Arizona Animal Rescue while I wait for the human who says, “Yep. That’s my dog.” Let me tell you… I’ve had quite the journey. I don’t remember much about my early years, but I do know I landed at animal control in Yuma at the end of 2024. Someone adopted me (good choice!), but somehow—don’t ask me how, I’m a dog, I don’t keep receipts—I ended up back at animal control at the end of 2025. Life happens, I guess. But I’m not the type to dwell on the past. I’m all about forward momentum, tail wags, and whatever fun thing is happening next. And speaking of fun… do you like water? Because I LOVE water. No, seriously. If there is a hose anywhere within a mile radius, I will find it. I will chase it. I will bite it. I will win. The volunteers here learned that the hard way—turn your back for one second while cleaning my kennel and CHOMP, there goes another hose. What can I say? A girl’s gotta have hobbies. I should probably mention that I have one cloudy eye. Maybe I can’t see well out of it. Maybe I can’t see at all. Hard to say. But does it slow me down? Absolutely not. I run, jump, splash, chase, and play like I’ve got perfect vision and a full calendar of things to do. I’m a shepherd, after all—built for action, purpose, and enthusiasm. I’ve also recently acquired a boyfriend. He’s handsome, he’s fun, and we love to play chase together. But let’s get one thing straight: I do not share my dinner. I’m a lady, not a saint. When it comes to people, I’m friendly, but I’m also a shepherd through and through. That means I like to get to know you before I decide you’re worth listening to. Once I do, though? I’m loyal, attentive, and ready to be your partner in crime (the legal kind, of course). Now, let’s talk about what I need. I’m not a couch&#226&#128&#145potato dog. I’m not a “one walk a day and then nap for 12 hours” dog. I’m a “let’s go, let’s do things, let’s explore, let’s play, let’s learn, let’s MOVE” dog. If you want a companion who keeps life exciting, I’m your girl. If you want a dog who chills quietly while you binge TV all weekend… yeah, that’s not me. We don’t know if I’m house&#226&#128&#145trained. We don’t know how I feel about cats. But given my energy level and drive, I’ll probably do best in a home without them. I’m a working&#226&#128&#145minded dog with a zest for life, and I need a human who appreciates that. So… what do you think? Ready to meet a dog who will make you laugh, keep you active, splash you with water, and love you with her whole heart? If you’d like to meet me—Valkarie, Valorie, Queen of Hoses, Destroyer of Boredom—send an email to mike@caaronline.org. I’ll be here, waiting for my forever person. Maybe that’s you.     PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Story
My name is Odin, and though I may not command the thunder or ride across the sky on an eight&#226&#128&#145legged steed, I do carry a spark of old Nordic magic in my heart. I’m a husky–German shepherd mix with a noble spirit, a loyal soul, and one eye that sees the world a little differently—just like the great All&#226&#128&#145Father himself. Some say that’s how I got my name. Maybe I was born this way, maybe something happened long ago, but it doesn’t slow me down one bit. In fact, I like to think it gives me character… and a touch of myth. My journey began in Yuma, Arizona, where I wandered the mortal realm as a stray. I wasn’t searching for battle or glory—just a place to belong. The kind humans at the shelter took me in, gave me food, safety, and a chance to rest my paws. When no one came to claim me, fate stepped in and carried me north to Central Arizona Animal Rescue. Now I wait here, hopeful and ready, dreaming of the day my forever family appears like a prophecy fulfilled. Let me tell you who I am, from one adventurer to another. I’m a strong, handsome boy with a thick coat, a proud stance, and a heart full of devotion. I love going for walks—truly love it. Every scent on the wind is a story, every tree a message, every path a new quest. If you enjoy exploring the world, I’ll gladly be your companion, trotting beside you with my tail high and my spirit bright. I share my kennel with a lovely female shepherd, and we get along like old friends around a fire. We play, we rest, we keep each other company. I’m good with people too—friendly, social, and eager to bond. I might be a bit much for very small children, not because I mean any harm, but because I’m a big, enthusiastic guy with a lot of energy and heart. A home with space—a yard where I can stretch my legs, sniff the breeze, and feel the sun on my fur—would suit me perfectly. Despite my grand name and heroic lineage, I’m not complicated. I’m neutered, current on all my vaccinations, and microchipped so I’ll never be lost to the realms again. I’m healthy, happy, and ready to start the next chapter of my saga with someone who sees me not as a stray or a mystery, but as a loyal companion waiting to give his whole heart. I imagine a life where we walk together at dusk, where I rest at your feet after a long day, where I watch over your home like a guardian of old. I imagine learning your routines, your voice, your footsteps. I imagine belonging—not to a kingdom, but to a family. If you feel a tug in your chest, a whisper of destiny, a sense that maybe you are the one I’ve been waiting for, then I hope you’ll come meet me. I’ll greet you with a wagging tail, a hopeful gaze, and the quiet strength of a dog who has weathered storms and still believes in love. To set up an appointment to meet me, just send an email to mike@caaronline.org. Perhaps our fates are meant to cross, and perhaps the next great chapter of my story begins with you.   PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. ✨ Meet Rhea ✨ Rhea is an 8-year-old sweetheart with the softest soul. She’s kennel trained, loves to cuddle, and is happiest when she’s relaxing by your side. 💕 She does have a little sassy side (adds to her charm 😉), but overall she’s very laid back and easygoing. Rhea is great with kids, though she can get a bit nervous in busy, high-energy environments. Because of that, she would thrive best in a calm home—ideally as the only dog—with a quieter household, like an older couple looking for a loving companion. If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal cuddle buddy, Rhea might just be your perfect match. (602) 999-7256 free to good home but application and home check required

Story
🌾🐾 Rye is the kind of dog who makes you want to lace up your hiking boots and head straight out the door. 🐾🌾 Rye is a Shepherd Malinois mix, approximately five to six years old, and she is one of those dogs who is just genuinely good at being a dog. Good with dogs of all sizes. Good with cats, actually does not even bother to look at them. Good with kids of all ages and friendly with everyone she meets. Loving, social, and the kind of presence that makes a home feel warmer just by being in it. 🥹💛 She walks beautifully on leash, knows sit and stay, and her absolute love language is a good chew toy or bone. Give her something to work on and she is a happy girl. She is not a city dog or a couch dog. She is a get outside, go on adventures, bring me everywhere kind of dog, and she is looking for a person who feels exactly the same way. 🥾🌿 A couple of things worth knowing. Rye does not love loud noises, so a quieter environment will help her feel her most settled and confident. She also gets so excited sometimes that she has accidents, which is just her joy spilling over and something manageable with patience and a good routine. She is not a fan of being alone for long stretches, so she truly thrives when her person is home often and includes her in daily life as much as possible. No doggy door experience yet, but with the right home and a little consistency she will get there. Rye is not looking for a casual relationship. She wants her person, her adventures, her walks, and her place by your side as much as humanly possible. If you are someone who lives outdoors, loves to move, and wants a loyal and loving companion to bring along for all of it, Rye has been waiting for exactly you. 🌾🐶💛 Apply to adopt Rye below and go on every adventure together. 🐾✨ Adoption App: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LCDR/Dog Foster App: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/LCDR/Dog

Story
This is Nyla bear, she is such a sweet pea & it’s very good at doing her own thing then asking for love when she is open for it. She has the goofiest personality, like running in circles of excitement and pouncing her little feet on the ground. She is a bit of a talker after meeting a husky when she was a baby, she loves to howl when saying hi & good morning to you. Nyla is such an active breed and deserves the best life and care in this world, sadly I’m a young women that has taken on a dog at such a young age unknown of her breed, as time has gone on life has gotten more busy with work and traveling and I can not give her the active life that she desperately deserves. Its gonna be tough to warm up to her but after awhile she will turn into your best friend, she has a dog friend living in the same house hold but growing up it wasn’t easy for them to get along, she can be aggressive at some points but that is simply cause she is more terrified of you than anything.

Story
Hi, I’m Grover, a friendly and fun-loving Malinois mix boy who is looking for a new home. I don’t remember much about my past, but I know I was a stray in Yuma, Arizona until some nice people from animal control found me and took me to a shelter. There, I met some other dogs and humans who were very kind to me. They even arranged for me to get a ride to Phoenix, where I am now staying with the Central Arizona Animal Rescue. They are taking good care of me, but I really want to find a family who will love me forever. I am a neutered male, about 1 year old, and I have been vaccinated and microchippedI love playing with toys, especially squeaky ones, and I enjoy running around and having fun. I have lots of energy to burn off! I am very friendly and get along well with people and other dogs. I am not aggressive or possessive, and I don’t bark too much. I am also very smart and eager to learn new things. I am working on my leash skills and manners, but I need some more practice and guidance. I am looking for a home where I can be part of the family and get lots of love and attention. I would love to have a yard where I can run and play, or at least go for regular walks. I would also like to have some toys to keep me entertained and happy. I don’t mind if you have other pets, as long as they are friendly too. I just want to be your loyal companion and best friend.
