Story
Basey is a sweet and extremely loyal dog. He is filled with incredible energy and is highly intelligent. He is great around children and other dogs. My wife is pregnant and it has become increasingly more difficult to give him the love and attention that he deserves. While it breaks my heart to have to part ways with him, it is my hope that his next owner will love him dearly and provide him a loving home.

Story
Gilly is finally ready for her new home! She is a little strong willed but she is very smart. She was picked up as a stray so we don't have any background information on her. She is probably around 3 to 4 years old. She likes to be the boss of the other dogs so she would do best if we found her a home where she is the only dog or with a submissive male. She has been very playful with the boys we have had her with but rough so she might be too much for smaller dogs. She would do best with an owner who has experience with big dogs and some training. Story
Hey there, it’s me, Rowan! I’m the 4-year-old German Shepherd with the endearing floppy ear, and I’m broadcasting a special message just for you. I’m currently hanging out at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, eagerly awaiting the day I can trot into my new forever home. I’ve had quite the journey, found as a stray with my pal Chief, and after a long wait at animal control, it seems my previous owners are not coming back. But that’s alright because it means I get the chance to meet you! I’m super friendly, love a good game, and when it comes to treats, I’m trying to gentle but treats are awesome and I get excited for them. My floppy ear? It’s not just for show; it’s a symbol of my unique personality and the stories I can’t wait to share with you. I’ve been given a clean bill of health, with all my vaccinations up to date, I’m neutered, and I’ve got a microchip so I’ll never get lost again. I’m on the lookout for a family that enjoys fun and games as much as I do. And if you’ve got a spare spot on the couch, I’d love to fill it with my cozy presence. So, if you’re ready for a loyal friend with a touch of whimsy, let’s meet! You can e-mail Central Arizona Animal Rescue at mike@CAARonline.org to set up an appointment. If you are unable to adopt me, please share my video to help me find my forever home. I can’t wait to meet you! AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: Phil, Your Loyal Desert Companion! Are you ready for an adventure? Phil certainly is! This brave and resilient pup has faced the harsh desert, cold rainy nights, and the loneliness of abandonment. But now, he’s ready to find his forever home—a place where he can thrive, learn, and share his boundless love. Phil’s Story: A Desert Survivor Desert Days: Phil and his littermates were left to fend for themselves in the vast Arizona desert. They huddled together during the cold rainy nights, their eyes wide with fear. But even in the barren desert, Phil showed remarkable leadership. He kept his siblings close, ensuring they stuck together until help arrived. Rescue Mission: Some nice people swooped in like a desert mirage, rescuing Phil and his sister, Lil and the rest of their littermates. They were whisked away from the unforgiving landscape, their hearts pounding with both fear and hope. Phil’s eyes held a mix of gratitude and curiosity—he knew this was a chance at a new beginning. Central Arizona Animal Rescue took in Phil and his sister Lil and another rescue took in the rest of his siblings. Blooming Bravery: The first few weeks were tough. Phil and Lil trembled at every sound, their tails tucked between their legs. But slowly, they blossomed. Phil emerged as the pack leader, guiding Lil through this bewildering world. When Phil ventured out to explore, Lil followed faithfully. Their bond is unbreakable—a testament to their shared survival. Phil’s Wishlist: What He Dreams Of A Loving Home: Phil dreams of a cozy spot by the window, where he can watch the world go by. He’s never been inside a house, but he’s eager to learn. Patient adopters who can guide him through this new experience will be rewarded with his unwavering loyalty. Leash Adventures: Phil’s desert legs are strong, but he’s still figuring out the whole leash thing. With gentle encouragement and a pocketful of treats, he’ll soon master the art of leash walking. Imagine the joy of exploring parks and trails together! Playtime: Phil’s playful spirit shines when he’s outdoors. Running free, no worries, and belly rubs—these are the things that make his tail wag. His sister Lil is his partner in crime, and they’d love to find a home together. Double the love, double the fun! But that isn’t always possible so they can find separate homes and there are some other advantages to separating them so a new family shouldn’t feel bad about only being able to take one of them home. Positive Reinforcement: Phil thrives on praise and encouragement. A kind word, a pat on the head, and he’ll be your devoted companion. He’s like a blank canvas, waiting for you to paint a beautiful life together. Adopt Phil: Your Desert Diamond Phil’s eyes hold the wisdom of the desert winds, and his heart beats with resilience. If you’re ready to open your home to this brave soul, e-mail us at mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment to meet him. Phil promises to fill your days with sunshine, sand, and a love that knows no bounds.   PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Story
Rita , our loyal companion, has been with us for quite some time. Now, we believe she is finally prepared to embark on the journey of finding her forever home. Rita arrived alongside a male German Shepherd, to whom she was deeply bonded. Fortunately, he quickly found his own loving family. For Rita, however, the transition was more challenging. It took her a while to discover her own identity and become comfortable without her companion. But that wasn’t the only obstacle she faced. When Rita first came to us, she was alarmingly thin. Initially, we suspected that her friend might have been consuming all her food, leaving her hungry. As a result, we decided to separate them. Despite receiving adequate nourishment, Rita continued to struggle with weight gain and lacked enthusiasm for eating. In our pursuit of answers, we tested Rita for Valley Fever—a common ailment with symptoms including weight loss and loss of appetite. The test results returned weakly positive, prompting us to begin treatment. Typically, within a couple of weeks, there is a noticeable improvement in appetite and weight gain. However, Rita’s progress remained slow. Undeterred, we conducted a DNA test to explore whether she had any food sensitivities. The results revealed that we had unknowingly been feeding her the worst combination of foods. Adjusting her diet to one that she tolerates well has significantly improved her appetite, and she is finally putting on some weight. Remarkably, the recommended food is both common and affordable, already stocked in our pantry. Now, we are actively seeking a new family for Rita. While she continues to build confidence, time and trust will be her allies. She’s learning to walk on a leash, although passing cars still make her nervous during walks. When fear strikes, she tends to pancake—flattening herself to the ground. Rita’s journey toward a loving forever home is filled with hope and promise. Sadie was found in Paradise Valley with Finn. We believe they are a pair. Both had new collars and new leashes attached. Both are well mannered, responds to commands and walks nicely on leash. Both are well taken care of. Although this pair was found together, we are willing to separate the pair to the right families.
