Story
This is MACON! The handsomest 2 year old male who is a very striking breed of dog and dog. Seriously, we're not sure his breed but we know he'll be a larger pup and he's wonderful. Macon was found running down the middle of the highway in Macon County, was found by some kind souls who took him in. Macon loves other dogs and kids, but he has a bit too much energy for the good Samaritans that found him. He foster sister is a 13 year old Chi that Macon is very respectful to, but the Chi is a bit cantankerous and doesn't like to share. Macon knows his manners, caught on to the basics very quickly, he knows to sit, stay and other basic commands. He absolutely LOVES toys. His fosters say he could chase a tennis ball or frisbee forever (fetch level pro) but he does very well when let inside to cuddle on the couch too. Story
🎾Rebel Meet Rebel. ❤️ She is a gorgeous young shepherd.  Rebel is a lucky girl who was pulled from a shelter by her awesome foster family and brought into Dixie Girl.  She is a very smart girl, completely crate and house trained, doing well with leash training and even knows some commands. She knows sit, high five and down, she is currently working on stay. She has no food aggression and even waits to eat until her foster parents tell her it’s okay. She loves food and treats and often carries her food dish around with her hoping it will magically fill up again 😂 Rebel loves chasing balls, enjoying her chews and bones and snuggling with her stuffed animal babies. She likes playing with the male dog in her foster home but is not a big fan of other female dogs, she prefers to be the only diva in the home.  She is very respectful when visitors come over and loves getting attention and pets from everyone.  Rebel is a big girl around 75 pounds currently but she is still growing and filling out her frame. She is a bit clumsy and sometimes forgets how big she is so a home with older children would be best.  She would be an excellent addition to any home and would love a big fenced in yard to play in and of course lots of doggie beds to snuggle with her stuffies and dream about all the wonderful upcoming adventures.  If this amazing girl sounds perfect for your lifestyle, please submit the adoption application so we can make a love connection 🥰. Rebel is patiently waiting for her forever family to find her.

Say Hello to Lucy! Lucy is 3 years young and searching for her forever companion and adventure buddy! Lucy loves to be outside, almost as much as she loves to stay close to her human. She doesn't mind her kitty siblings and if children want to play a game of fetch, Lucy is ready to go! This beautiful girl, is house-trained, crate trained and up to date on her vaccinations and preventatives. The only thing missing for Lucy is her forever home! Lucy is young and healthy and loves to run and play. She would do well with someone who is active and has a fenced yard. Story
Is April the sweetest girl you've ever seen? Well, yes, she could have told you that. The sweet and shy April is something of a gentle giant. Her smile in this picture portrays her personality perfectly. A gorgeous German Shepard girl who would love to get to know you. She needs a little love, but it's easy to do. With her soft eyes she will melt away your worries, and her friendship will be an amazing reward. April was not treated well in a former life so she needs a little time to trust you, but she will trust you if you treat her right and she will love you forever.

Story
Kiba is an 8 year old GSD. Despite his age, he is full of energy and always ready to play. I personally trained him from the time of getting him at 5 weeks old in basic obedience. He’s very intelligent, outgoing, silly and full of personality. I am unsure how he does with younger children as he has mainly been exposed to adolescents to teenagers. I have had him around cats but he could use further training around them due to instinctual prey drive. He can have an ego with other male dogs, I would personally suggest only neutral males that are neutered if you have male dogs. He got along with my own personal male dogs just fine. He has always been relatively healthy but does have daily eye drops. He has no history of any sort of hip/joint issues. Kiba is up to date on vaccinations and in need of a new home as soon as possible. Feel free to reach out with any questions

Story
Ella's goal in life is to live simply and bring joy to the people she adores, children included. Incredibly sweet, she has great manners (her foster family raves that she is the best foster they've ever had!) Good-natured, this gal pal lives with multiple dogs, and is eager to please. Ella wouldn't mind one bit if you allowed her to sleep in bed with you . Treats always welcomed! Ella is the best work from home assistant paws down! Her nickname is Princess and you should be able to guess why! She prefers women over men, but give her a little time to warm up and the kisses will flow. Est. birthdate is 4/3/2021, 34 lbs., vaccinated, spayed and microchipped. Adoption fee $300.00. Are you the one to own her heart? Ella is feeling hopeful! She can't wait to be spoiled by her forever family.

Story
🐾BRUTUS🖤 Brutus is a 2 year old Dutch Shepherd/Lab mix according to his embark testing! He’s a big cuddly goofball and loves to make his humans laugh! 🥰 This lanky boy is very smart and loves to do training/learn new things and keep his brain busy, which makes sense with his awesome breed mix! He’s very affectionate and loves to follow his person around and cuddle. He rides great in the car and is fully crate and housetrained. 💯 Brutus is a great swimmer and loves to play fetch in the water, his foster is currently training him for dock diving! Despite being very active and having lots of energy he has a great off switch, too. He can get excited very easily and has some manners that need work but his foster mama is having so much fun training him & he’s learning quickly. 🐶 If you’re interested in dog sports, Brutus would be a great match for you! Especially if you’re a beginner - he is so eager to learn and please.🥰 For his forever family, Brutus is seeking an active home with someone who is willing to keep up with his training and give him plenty of exercise. He thrives when staying active both physically and mentally. He does great with all sizes of dogs & older kids. He is a very social boy and would do great with some dog friends in his home! 🏡 Does Brutus sound like the adventure buddy you’ve been looking for? 🫶🏼 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel.
