Story
Coco was purchased at just a couple weeks old and has been with us the past two years. She is caught up on shots and is given monthly symperico trio. We are in the process of moving and at this time need to rehome her. She looks scary big and all black but as soon as you get close to her licks you and lays down to be rubbed. She is very smart and comes from a good home. She gets along with certain dogs and other she does not but I have found the smaller the dog or it resembling a cat is where her predatory instincts come out. She is submissive to alpha and is just a really good dog never bit anyone and I have four kids. We are sad we have to part ways as she has become a big part of our family but it is the right thing to do for her to get her to a good loving and nurturing home. She has no health issues or dietary restrictions at all and in great health. She is kennel trained and prefers her home there and doesn’t bark inside ever and only outside upon guests great guard dog.

Story
We got Aspen as a puppy from a family while we lived in Houston, and she is now 4 years old. Her birthday is June 21, 2020. She is high energy but also very sweet and loves to lick people. Our family now has two infant children and we do not feel comfortable with her high energy around our children, although she has never bitten anyone. We are hoping to give her to a family with the space to let her run around outside (preferably a backyard or on some land). Some quirks about Aspen: She is afraid of the sound that the dishwasher makes and prefers to be in her crate or outside when dishwasher is running. She can lunge/bark at other dogs when on a leash and closely passing a dog, but when off leash she does like to play with other dogs and is friendly. She is protective but also loves people. She at first will bark at strangers, but then will just lick them and love being petted the whole time.

Story
Meet Alpine! Alpine is a stunning 4-year-old German shepherd mix with a playful spirit that will melt your heart. She loves to prance around and act like a puppy, especially when she’s playing with her favorite stuffed bunny, a rope toy, or a ball for fetch. Alpine is the perfect combination of beauty, brains, and athleticism, making her a wonderful companion for someone with breed experience. This smart and loyal lady uses her dog door to potty, walks well on a leash, and thrives on mental challenges. She adores running and playing in big yards and gets along well with other dogs who respect her queenly status. While she’s nervous around small children, Alpine would fit beautifully into a home with adults or older kids who can appreciate her personality. Her ideal home has a fenced yard and plenty of love to offer. Alpine is ready to be your loyal and loving companion—she’s amazing and waiting for her forever family!

Elias: Your Loyal Sidekick (Just Not to Cats) Hey there, I’m Elias, a distinguished German Shepherd with the brains of a genius and the energy of a caffeinated tornado. I take my job as your personal bodyguard very seriously—whether it’s protecting you from suspicious squirrels, rogue mail carriers, or that plastic bag blowing down the street. I’m loyal, obedient, and always ready for adventure… but let’s get one thing straight: cats? Nope. Can’t do it. Won’t do it. Those tiny, sneaky ninjas are not to be trusted, and I will absolutely let you know it. Looking for a best friend who will stick by your side (as long as you’re not holding a cat)? I’m your guy!

Story
Marilyn came to Off The Chain Rescue barely a year old and with 3 puppies. Her pups all were adopted and she has been with us since, some 4 years ago. Part of our "inside" pack, Marilyn has learned good manners. As with any active animal, she needs to burn off excess energy and have her "zoomies" but is otherwise good as part of the family. Marilyn will make a great addition to your household if you are willing to provide her the necessary exercise in a yard or dog park. Why not come meet her and see what a great girl she is?
