Story
Umbra is a good girl. She's a rescue we got in 2019, so we think she's about 8 years old. She's been a house dog but now mostly outside while sleeping inside in a kennel. Rehoming due to our child's potential allergy concerns. We will give you the crate and any dogfood remaining. As well as her leash. She is up to date on shots. She just had her yearly checkup in Feb.

Story
Marilyn came to Off The Chain Rescue barely a year old and with 3 puppies. Her pups all were adopted and she has been with us since, some 4 years ago. Part of our "inside" pack, Marilyn has learned good manners. As with any active animal, she needs to burn off excess energy and have her "zoomies" but is otherwise good as part of the family. Marilyn will make a great addition to your household if you are willing to provide her the necessary exercise in a yard or dog park. Why not come meet her and see what a great girl she is?

Story
Miranda is a sweet girl with a playful temperament. She doesn’t know how big she is and can knock you over if you’re not ready for her. She gets along well with other dogs that can match her play style. She can be mischievous when she hasn’t gotten her exercise or had her mental stimulation for the day. However, she corrects easily. We’ve even taken Miranda out to a local “Bike Night” and did so well that folks couldn’t understand why she hasn’t been adopted yet. The sounds of the loud motorcycles and loud music didn’t phase her one bit!

Story
Check out adoptable Anna Belle (A566160) Anna Belle is one shelter pup who we can honestly say has been through the wringer! She arrived on March 11lth with several bald spots all over her body, and was incredibly itchy. Our medical team has been working with her to provide some relief to the itchiness and help her hair grow back, and we are already seeing a difference. While she is improving, it will take months for all of her fur to fully grow back and we still don`t really know what caused it, though our vet suspects possible food allergies, Anna Belle will need a family that understands she may have ongoing medical needs that will require frequent veterinary visits until the underlying cause of the alopecia is determined. For now, we are keeping this sweet girl comfortable while she awaits the right family. While she may look a little rough, Anna Belle feels just fine and is a happy, fun loving girl. On initial greetings she may come off as shy, but she isn`t really. She is a social girl who appears to make friends just about everywhere she goes. We suspect she may do well with kids since she is on the gentler side. chronic malaseeziaShe has definitely had a home at some point as she arrived knowing the commands `Sit.` `Down.` and `Shake`; all of which she loves to show off given the oppurtunity. Anna Belle loves treats, and while your typical Pupperoni will do, she LOVES hotdogs more than anything and they just might be the way to her heart. Since arriving, Anna Belle has done fantastic in playgroups with male dogs so she would be a good fit for a multi-dog family!Anna Belle is guesstimated to be 3 years old and weighs 55 lbs. All dogs adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are spayed/ neutered, microchipped, dewormed, appropriately vaccinated, and receive a topical 90-day flea/ tick preventative. Ready to meet Anna Belle? All you have to do is stop by our shelter at 4950 Triana Blvd and head to our dog areas. You can find her in kennel D28. All adopters must be 19 years or older with a valid ID

Story
Harley (A566299) arrived to us as a stray, a little unsure of the world around her. She is a submissive, shy girl at first, the kind who hangs back and takes a moment to figure things out. Give her just a little time and you will see what she has been holding onto; a deep love for people and a constant need for affection. Once she feels safe, Harley is all about gentle pets and staying close to her person. She truly craves that connection and will happily soak up every bit of attention you are willing to give. She already knows “sit” and is very treat motivated, which makes her a great candidate for continued training. With a little patience and encouragement, she is going to blossom into an incredible companion.Harley has done well with another female dog and shows a very gentle play style. She would likely do well with a male dog too, but she may be best suited for a home with a calmer companion. She is not one to cause chaos and could easily be overwhelmed by more rambunctious personalities. She will stand up for herself when needed, but she would much rather just enjoy a peaceful environment. At her core, Harley is soft, loving, and incredibly loyal. She is the kind of dog who bonds deeply and gives her whole heart. Now she just needs someone willing to give that same love back.If you are looking for a gentle soul to grow with, Harley is waiting for you. Harley is guesstimated to be 5 years old and weighs 52 lbs, she will likely be a large breed adult weighing between 40-60 pounds as an adult. All dogs adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are spayed/ neutered, microchipped, dewormed, appropriately vaccinated, and receive a topical 90-day flea/ tick preventative. Ready to meet Harley? All you have to do is stop by our shelter at 4950 Triana Blvd and head to our dog areas. You can find her in kennel D34. All adopters must be 19 years or older with a valid ID

Story
Meet Thor Thor is a gentle, soulful German Shepherd with a heart as big as his paws. This incredibly sweet boy is the definition of a loyal companion—he simply wants to be by your side, soaking up love and giving it right back. Thor appears to be in his golden years, with a soft dusting of gray on his muzzle that only adds to his charm. He gets along well with other dogs and carries himself with a quiet kindness that melts hearts instantly.
