Story
Hiya! I’m Chewbacca and I am a 1 1/2 year old French Bulldog boy. Can you guess why my name is Chewbacca? I am super soft and fluffy! I am just a cool dude and I have a great personality. I love my humans so much, I don’t want them to ever leave my eyesight. I came from a bad situation, so I am still learning how to be a wonderful dog. I like to play with the other doggies, but sometimes I play too hard. I am crate trained and learning to walk on the leash and potty outside. I would love a family that can continue my training. I am a strong boy and like to jump, so I need a family that can handle me. I love playing in the sprinkler, and maybe a pool too! I am super affectionate and cuddly, and I would love a family that can love on me forever! Will that be you? My adoption fee is $825.Thank you for your continued support in our rescue efforts! If you are interested in any of our Boston Terriers or would like to be eligible to adopt a Boston Terrier through our rescue in the future, please fill out an application. Story
Well hello peoples! My name is Francesca and I am 1 1/2 years old. I weigh 26 pounds. I am such a beautiful girl. I am a unique mix of French Bulldog and Pug! and I have a cute smushy face and a curly tail! I came to this wonderful rescue with dry eyes. Because of this, I will need someone to give me eye drops every day. My foster mom says I can be stubborn like an ox, I think of myself as a steadfast girl. Sometimes when I don’t want to do something I pretend I’m an alligator and roll around. I get along great with the other dogs, and I even like cats. I like to run after them, but only because I find them very interesting creatures, I would never hurt one. I do need to be fed in a separate area because I am possessive of my food. I am crate, leash, and house trained. I love to play with my alligator stuffy, I can play for hours by myself. My ideal home would be a family that can help me with my eye drops and is looking for a sweet loving girl like me. I hope that can be you! My adoption fee is $425. Story
Bonjour! My name is Frog, and I am 2 year old French Bulldog boy. I am absolutely beautiful, and I have the softest coat of all the doggies. I love just hanging out with my humans and watching tv. I am very gentle and cuddly. My foster mom says I am the sweetest boy ever! I am very dog selective, and I don’t like other doggies near my food. Because of this, I would do best as an only dog. I am crate and leash trained, but I would like someone patient to help me continue  with my potty training. I came from a situation that was not very nice so I have some catching up to do on this. . My favorite thing in the world is when someone pets me and I can look dreamily into their eyes. I can do that forever long! I would love a calm home where people can love on me and don’t mind a Velcro friend. Can that be you? MUST BE ONLY DOG. My adoption fee is $825. Story
Hey there! I’m Pugsley, I’m about 1 year old, and I’m full of energy and always on the go. I am a French Bulldog-Pug mix. I love playing with my siblings, and you'll often find me right underfoot, eager to be wherever the action is. I'm still learning the ropes, so I have some puppy behaviors like marking and darting out the door if given the chance. But I promise, with a little patience and training, I’ll be a great companion. I’m super cuddly and a total Velcro baby—I love being close to my humans. I’m also a bundle of energy, always ready for playtime with my favorite Nylo Bones. I’m good with other dogs, but I’d do best in a home without young children or toddlers. My ideal home has a yard with a doggy door, another young dog to play with, and a family who understands that I’m still learning. Let’s have some fun together! My adoption fee is $600.  Medical hold for cherry eye surgery.  Will be available mid-October.If you are interested in any of our Boston Terriers or would like to be eligible to adopt a Boston Terrier through our rescue in the future, please fill out an application. Story
Introducing Tigger…..That’s me I am a wonderfully funny boy who is searching for my forever home.  I am good with other Dogs and Cats.  I walk well on a leash and enjoy my evening walks when it is cooler outside during the hot summer temperatures.  I am what they call a water baby and I enjoy the pool in my foster home, BUT I am not a good swimmer so I must wear a Life Jacket otherwise I will sink to the bottom.  Even with a Life Jacket I require “hands on” assistance as I paddle around.  My life prior to coming into rescue was not the best as I was used as a breeding machine only, neglected of medical care and love.  I will need a home that can help continue my potty training as I currently wear a belly band which prevents me from having accidents in the home.  I am crate trained and I do fine while left alone when you are away.  I am cuddly as any Tigger should be and I have found the joy of Toys, but I do not like to share my toys at all.  If you have children I will need a home with High school aged children as I am more comfortable with slow movements as I just can’t trust the small children that run, jump and make loud noises.  I am not a fan of going to see the Vet….my foster Mom is a Veterinarian, Yes you heard me right….. so this was quite a stretch for me….I have learned to love her, but I still am unsure when I see her as a patient.   Are you ready to add a Tigger to your life?  Then don’t delay adopt a Tigger today! Story
Georgia Skyes is a very smart, sweet and spunky girl. There are 2 fur siblngs in Georgia's foster hom that are over her antics, but they are small breed femals dogs. We feel Georgia would be bestter matched with a male her size or even a tad larger. In general she is really good with other dogs...her puppy energy is just a bit much for any dog unmatched. She is just over 15lbs and 9mos of age, and Georgia is pretty moderate in the energy scale (but still a puppy). She is housebroken and kennel trained, as well as good on leash. She can be a little vocal at times (consider the breed), so she might not be best suited for apartment living. Overall Georgia seems to be a pretty cofident who wants to be the center of your universe.  Here's how to adopt me: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $125 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. APPLY HERE: www.richardsonhumanesociety.org ##2208753##
