Story
Hiya! I’m Chewbacca and I am a 1 1/2 year old French Bulldog boy. Can you guess why my name is Chewbacca? I am super soft and fluffy! I am just a cool dude and I have a great personality. I love my humans so much, I don’t want them to ever leave my eyesight. I came from a bad situation, so I am still learning how to be a wonderful dog. I like to play with the other doggies, but sometimes I play too hard. I am crate trained and learning to walk on the leash and potty outside. I would love a family that can continue my training. I am a strong boy and like to jump, so I need a family that can handle me. I love playing in the sprinkler, and maybe a pool too! I am super affectionate and cuddly, and I would love a family that can love on me forever! Will that be you? My adoption fee is $825.Thank you for your continued support in our rescue efforts! If you are interested in any of our Boston Terriers or would like to be eligible to adopt a Boston Terrier through our rescue in the future, please fill out an application. Story
Well hello peoples! My name is Francesca and I am 1 1/2 years old. I weigh 26 pounds. I am such a beautiful girl. I am a unique mix of French Bulldog and Pug! and I have a cute smushy face and a curly tail! I came to this wonderful rescue with dry eyes. Because of this, I will need someone to give me eye drops every day. My foster mom says I can be stubborn like an ox, I think of myself as a steadfast girl. Sometimes when I don’t want to do something I pretend I’m an alligator and roll around. I get along great with the other dogs, and I even like cats. I like to run after them, but only because I find them very interesting creatures, I would never hurt one. I do need to be fed in a separate area because I am possessive of my food. I am crate, leash, and house trained. I love to play with my alligator stuffy, I can play for hours by myself. My ideal home would be a family that can help me with my eye drops and is looking for a sweet loving girl like me. I hope that can be you! My adoption fee is $425. Story
Introducing Tigger…..That’s me I am a wonderfully funny boy who is searching for my forever home.  I am good with other Dogs and Cats.  I walk well on a leash and enjoy my evening walks when it is cooler outside during the hot summer temperatures.  I am what they call a water baby and I enjoy the pool in my foster home, BUT I am not a good swimmer so I must wear a Life Jacket otherwise I will sink to the bottom.  Even with a Life Jacket I require “hands on” assistance as I paddle around.  My life prior to coming into rescue was not the best as I was used as a breeding machine only, neglected of medical care and love.  I will need a home that can help continue my potty training as I currently wear a belly band which prevents me from having accidents in the home.  I am crate trained and I do fine while left alone when you are away.  I am cuddly as any Tigger should be and I have found the joy of Toys, but I do not like to share my toys at all.  If you have children I will need a home with High school aged children as I am more comfortable with slow movements as I just can’t trust the small children that run, jump and make loud noises.  I am not a fan of going to see the Vet….my foster Mom is a Veterinarian, Yes you heard me right….. so this was quite a stretch for me….I have learned to love her, but I still am unsure when I see her as a patient.   Are you ready to add a Tigger to your life?  Then don’t delay adopt a Tigger today! Story
Hi, I’m Rizzo, I’m about 3 years old and weigh around 38 pounds.  I’m super happy all the time! I love playing with my foster brothers—chasing balls and playing tug-of-war are my favorite activities. I have an older foster brother who’s a bit grumpy, but I just ignore him and focus on the fun. I always want to be where my people are, but when I’m tired, I’m happy to retreat to my room for some rest. I’m housetrained, crate trained, and leash trained, but I’m still working on my manners—I get so excited that I sometimes “bump” my humans! I’m not much of a snuggler, but I love being by your side. I’m good with kids, seniors, and other dogs, though I’d prefer a home without toddlers. I’d thrive in a home with another dog who loves car rides and ball-chasing as much as I do. I’m also a perfect fit for an RV life, traveling the country with my family. I have some minor skin allergies, so I need frequent baths and grooming. If you’re looking for a playful, road-loving companion, I’m your girl! My adoption fee is $675.     If you are interested in any of our Boston Terriers or would like to be eligible to adopt a Boston Terrier through our rescue in the future, please fill out an application. Howdy Y'all! My name is Nelson, and I am a gorgeous 3-year-old hunk of French Bulldog! I am a chill and relaxed boy who loves to be near my humans at all times. Perhaps a full time work from home human or a retired home body?  I do need some assistance getting up on your couch so you can give me some pets and cuddles please as my legs are a bit too short for jumping. I get along great with other dogs and need a  home where I have some dog buddies.  I am also good with kids. I would do best in a home where I don't have to climb stairs. I am crate trained and housetrained.  Who would like to have a love bug like me to hang out with? My adoption fee is $675. Story
Meet sweet Puglsey!  Pugsley is around 4 years old.  We named him Pugsley Addams because he came to us around Halloween time.  His favorite pastime is to follow you around the house.  He wants to have you in his line of sight all the time.  He loves to cuddle and will be a wonderful companion dog to anyone.  He enjoys his daily walks and walks well on leash.  He is good with cats.  He would be happier if he is the only dog at home. Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $125 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. APPLY HERE: www.richardsonhumanesociety.org ##1553556##
